- I MET AN AMERICAN MAN LIVING IN A PHILIPPINES MOUNTAIN TOWN...
After a really tough scooter adventure, I found myself staying over in the Municipality of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat. The area is also called "SNA" for short. Waking up early, I was invited for coffee with an American and wife, who bumped into me the other evening. Brad is originally from Wisconsin and has been living in Mindanao for years. It was really awesome chatting with him, and the environment he lives in here in Sultan Kudarat Province really is beautiful! Just chatting to him made me want to come back and explore for many days!
From Bad's house, I head back down the mountains and make my way to Tacurong City. It was time to relax a little after all the intense motor rides!

I was born and raised in mindanao, province of Bukidnon, SK is the north from where I live in bukidnon, It takes 4 t0 5 hours travel.
You make it sound like living in the Philippines is the worst situation there can ever be and that he has to make good out of this situation. Maybe he needs to move back to the best place on earth… ‘Murica!
I am in Manila right now. I am 32 years old. I remember when I was 8 -11 years old. My grandpa used to bring us along these mountains on a Pick up truck. The area is so beautiful. My grandpa is a Former Governor of Sultan Kudarat Way back 90's. I miss the good old days. 🥲

My wife is from Mindanao, we recently had a baby and planning to live there in about 2 years. Can hardly wait for that next chapter in my life with my amazing filipina wife and baby.

Always trust the locals for advice, to tell you where it's safe or not safe to visit a particular area. Mindanao is amazing. Never let anyone discourage from visiting.

If you're still in Isulan, visit Esperanza, around 13km away. Visit the hot spring. Try out halo-halo too! The cheapest but pinaka lami in the Philippines!
Funfact: The Province of Sultan Kudarat is now considered the coffee capital of the Philippines!

Cool to see a guy from Wisconsin way outthere, I'm from Chicago so he is my neighbor ...Milwaukee is about 1 hr from Chicago, I used to fish a lot in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, Michigan but I live in Central Florida now.

Nice of you loving our country and appreciating everything. I also like eating karenderia. I personally prefer it than eating at a fancy restaurant. So many hidden gems in the Philippines left undiscovered due to logistics and safety concerns. I hope one day it will be all accessible for anyone.
