Thanks for the review. I had a Meyerhoffer 2 longboard and his XYZ longboard which didn’t have as extreme a hip in it. The XYZ was amazing how well it could turn and had a lot more in it than I ever asked of it. Often got some strange looks and comments from others but it worked really well. Unfortunately, the, carbon fibre original one snapped but I got a copy made up from a local shaper who “got” why it works so well. It lasted better and worked really well.

hey mate, sounds like you recognise the value in these designs! yeah definitely a head turner shape but i think if more people tried and used them they'd be more common and accepted (eventually). glad to hear you're still repping the Meyerhoffer inspired boards! enjoy -KS

I have this board and I love it. It takes awhile to get used to,. I wish more surfers would try this.

About 6 or 7yrs ago Firewire released an intriguing board called ‘The Cornice’ in FST.
Very similar, almost identical shape & outline, it was a collaboration between Dan Mann from Firewire & Eduardo Cenzano at Trinity Technologies in Spain.
    Sadly no longer made.

yeah! i've seen one of those around. another crazy design that probably worked really well but maybe didn't sell as well as it should've due to people being put off by the shape. From what i remember I think on the Cornice the tail was the "bulbous" rounded part then a pulled in 'waist' and the nose was more pointed..? sort of 'reverse Meyerhoffer' outline in a shortboard? Wonder how they rode! cheers for the input -KS

@@kookshed I rode a Cornice for 3 years (and copped it off my mates for the whole time!) I can tell you that it was by a long way the best performance board I have ever owned. It was so efficient and a pleasure to ride - effortless speed and performance.

@@spottyone584 sweet! yeah they look like a wild ride for sure, but based on the same design principles as the Meyerhoffer outline i'm sure it was a great little board. i've seen one or two used ones for sale and if i find one around my size i'll give it a go! and PS- good work on not listening to your mates! thanks for the positive input mate, cheers -KS

@@kookshed if you see one, don't be afraid to go a couple more litres than you normally would as the normal rules don't apply. You virtually cannot feel the top 2/3 of the board when turning. It's all done off that wider tail. Cuts through anything like butter. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't find It's maximum limits!
