I love cemeteries n graveyards. I’m hoping this summer for my surgery which should make ne able to walk again. Now I’m retired and suddenly unable to walk now I’m chomping at the bit to walk n go to old cemeteries n graveyards!

Seems as if, generally speaking, the folks in Brussels have greater respect for their dead than those in Edinburgh. Nice to see. Really interesting to learn how different communities choose to inter their dead.

Curious what are those tiles in the walkways? Lights? Skylights for the crypts below? Or just ornate stepping stones? First time I've seen something like that in a cemetery.
Almost Egyptian- funerary chapel out in the open for the family and the actual remains in a crypt.
That face was tres "effrayante" (scary)😳I wonder if it was placed there for that purpose?🤔

Je passe très régulièrement devant ce cimetière. J’ignorais qu’il était aussi beau. Une visite s’impose prochainement. Je pense que c’est ce cimetière qui est la dernière scène du fils « le fidèle » avec Matthias Schoenaerts.

Hi Helen, my family are usually cremated and scattered at sea and so will I be, unless highgate cemetery want to offer me a mausoleum :)
