You can have a chicken burger or a fish burger as long as it is made from ground meat. It doesn't have to be beef. If it is a filet or cut of meat then you have a sandwich.
Chick fil a is God's gift to mankind. Personally, I favor the Polynesian sauce. Eating in the restaurant is the better experience. You get the food while it's hot and the service is second to none.
Bonjour (again) Marie! I would love to see you give Panera Bread a try. They have baguettes (!) and they used to have croissants, but just discontinued them on April 1, 2024. They do have a pastry they call Chocolate Croissant, because it used to be a croissant split open the long way, filled with a nutella type filling, and then chocolate drizzled on top and then powdered sugar dusted as well, but they changed to a puff pastry instead of a croissant, but kept the name. They have a frozen strawberry lemonade that you'd probably like, and their food is fresh, no additives nor preservatives, and organic if/when possible. They have a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Not inexpensive, but worth a try. Bonne journée! ~Be Blessed

lol in SC they have double lines around the building almost all day but they always move fast. Inside or drive thru no matter how crowded they move fast and it's almost always correct unless you get a complicated salad at rush hour. They crush the competition for a reason. FYI Get the app. They have a designated line for cars using the app. You put in your order or re-order a saved favorite meal or previous order then once in the parking lot pull up and scan the QR code in the designated line with your phone so they know you're there and the order starts. It's crazy convenient and fast. And you get points towards free food.
The waffle fries and chicken are best heated in the oven if they’re cold. The salads with chicken are very good, too. My fave is #1 with extra pickle & yellow mustard (not honey mustard) and a small salad or cup of fruit if not in the mood for fries.
Glad to see you trying this. As others have said, you'll do much better to eat it fresh at the restaurant. I have the Spicy Chicken Sandwich meal when I go there for lunch, and I have the Southwest Chicken Salad when I go there for dinner. Have a good day!
For fast food, chick fil a really is the gold standard. Quality of food, service, order accuracy, and speed getting your order are unmatched in my opinion.
Marie, on your next visit to the US, you have to try and compare many different restaurants. It would be very interesting to hear your opinion on multiple fast food places. Or the local Mom&Pop cafes and restaurants that everyone overlooks!
You’re not going to get the best version having it delivered unfortunately. I used to peel and cut the potatoes with a waffle cutter at the chick fil a I worked at, they were cooked fresh everyday. Also filleted the chicken breasts by hand, and cut the chicken into nuggets. Maybe it’s changed since I last worked there. The original restaurant is in Georgia. Definitely eat at the restaurant next time if you want the best food experience. ❤
The best thing I used to get was the nuggets with chic fil a sauce and a Dr Pepper. One of these days you need to try your fries with salt/pepper and dip in yellow mustard.

The waffle fries are better without sauce (just make sure they are salted and hot or they won't have Mich flavor) . The sandwich is better with just the pickles if still hot. Skip the deluxe.
Because it's America and we do hamburgers right It annoys me when I see Europeans inspect their burger by taking it apart, letting it get cold it's a burger. Eat it an enjoy

There is a young woman from the UK that tries all kinds of American foods and her expressions are priceless as are yours. Places have to make up for paying $20/hrs to some kid who doesn't know their job. Before you ask, I work in the industry. Have for almost 20 years. Raising wages means raising prices. That is how the system works.
Sorry about that, but the waffle fries are often called 'air conditioned fries' because they get cold so fast. Also, the proper order is not the deluxe sandwich but the regular sandwich. And no Chick-fil-A sauce, get the honey mustard and/or Polynesian sauce. Hey get one of each and try them both, they are for the sandwich not the fries, ketchup is for fries.
All Fast food restaurants have a special sauce Mickey D's has the Big Mac sauce Chic-Fil-A has the Chic-Fil-A sauce and so on. They are all almost the same.

I always get the Chic-Fil-A Deluxe meal myself. Sometimes I add the nuggets or a chocolate shake. In the 1990's they were pretty basic and bad, but I think the entire company got overhauled and redone from the ground up (much like Hardee's did several years later). Ever since, and as long as you like chicken, I don't think you'll find a better fast-food chicken sandwich... with the service being top-notch every time I have gone. They really go above and beyond and usually seem to be well-staffed. I have never worked for them, so I don't know how they are on that side, but while many fast food places seem to only have the bare minimum employees even when it would be busy, Chic-Fil-A seems to have a decent number working, and they are usually quite fast in terms of service and fresh meals. FYI: You probably would have liked the waffle fries more if they were hot (temperature, not spicy hot). Getting them 25 to 30 minutes later might have dulled the taste, and I don't think many fries at many fast food places taste as good if they are cold. BTW: They are always closed on Sundays, and most Christian holidays, so don't be surprised. 😁
CFA's fries are not salted and definitely need a sauce. I typically skip them, and go back to get their ice cream, after I've finished my food (so it doesn't have time to melt). I always dine, and never do take-out from any place (except for Chinese food).
When I was a teenager, our mall had put in a new Chick-Fil-A. Part of getting people to try the new restaurant was by giving free samples of their chicken nuggets. They always had the cutest girls standing out front handing them out, so doing what young men do, I would try to talk to them in hopes of getting a date under the guise of wanting a free sample. This went on, day after day, and soon enough, I had started to develop an addiction to Chick-Fil-A. I would would crave it. Sadly, the restaurant closed, leaving me with no way to obtain my yummy chicken. There was a hole inside now. Many years later, I found out there was a Chick-Fil-A two states away. As fate would have it, I needed to drive that way anyway, so with a slight detour, I was able to recapture my love for that flavor. Once I returned home, I had found there was a Chick-Fil-A the next county over this whole time! *shakes fist at the sky angrily*
I always get the nuggets. The Polynesian sauce is my favorite. The waffle fries are really only good when they're hot. Once they start to cool, they get blah. The regular lemonade is better IMO. You should try Arby's (roast beef) while you're here. Get the Beef and Cheddar sandwich with the curly fries. I'm not a shake person so can't recommend one but I usually don't get a drink from there.
You've ate food from AZ. Chick-fil-A 'spicy" is no more spicy than any of that. It's quite mild, but more flavorful than the regular version. I think you would have liked it, had you not seen the word "spicy."
Marie, your food reviews are hilarious to watch! "First Bite Syndrome"! 🤣 The Chick-fil-A sauce is sold in grocery stores in the sauce isle. You can go buy a few of them and then mail them to yourself in France. Don't UPS or FedEX, just normal everyday US Post Office, and you'll have some back home in your own kitchen! The Waffle Fries are just a great way to start a snack. Add a lot of cheese to them and they're awesome, or take them home and add cheese and chili to them (not the spicy chili because you don't like spice) and then put it in the oven until it's hot and you'll love them! I'm glad you got to experience them this way though. I'm also happy that you added that last comment once you had eaten everything. It really is good food, and the nuggets are fantastic as well. What sets Chick-fil-A apart from the competition is the customer service. You will never experience nicer or more polite fast food employees anywhere else. By ordering online rather than dine-in, you missed the customer experience and didn't get your food hot & fresh. That said, my favorite items are the Spicy Deluxe sandwich and the Cobb Salad with Honey Mustard dressing. P.S. try the sauce on the chicken! 😉
I prefer the regular Chick-fil-A sandwich because it doesn't have lettuce & tomato & I get Mac n cheese instead of fries. & half sweet tea half lemonade which we call an Arnold Palmer. 😂
I think next trip to US you should try chicken 🐔 &waffles , its a thing here in US . We have alot in Chicago and most southern states. Oh and collard greens ❤ yummy mustard greens are just as yummy too 😋
When it comes to the regular chicken sandwich, I prefer Chick-fil-A. When it comes to the spicy version, I prefer Popeyes. That said, I don't think of the "spicy" chicken sandwich to be overbearing when it comes to heat, but leaves enough to keep the mouth tingly and salivating for the next bite. I like the waffle fries, but I prefer them as fresh as possible so that they remain hot and crispy. They are simply a thicker form of pommes gaufrettes that you find in France. As others have stated, the food is better at the restaurant.
I never had Chick-fil-a when I was young as it was just a food place in the mall. Then I had a sandwich that was provided as lunch while working an event or show where we couldn’t leave - it was just the pain sandwich and it was smashed flat and cold. It was still pretty good! So I decided to get my own as I knew of several stand-alone stores out of the mall. I thought I might have made a mistake as the place was crowded and I wouldn’t have time - actually it was very organized and the process moved quick and the service people were sooooo much better than we have become used to! The order takers look you in the eyes and smile, they speak articulately and type in the order quickly and ask/offer relevant sauces/sides/sizes. The food was prepared by people that understood hygienic practices and followed them! Last, the food was assembled and packaged well and tasted good! They don’t have a huge variety of products, but the food they do serve is good and the experience getting the food is good! I get a basic spicy chicken sandwich with extra pickles, fries get ketchup that has a packet of Texas Pete sauce mixed in, and the tea/lemonade mix to drink.
Adding the Chick-Fil-A Sauce on the Sandwich would have elevated it tot he next level! Otherwise it is just a good Chicken Sandwich. Also, I agree about the Waffle Fries. They are pretty plain, but I really like the texture of them compared to other Fast Food places. Also, once again they Sauce takes the Fries to the next level. Next time actually go to the Chick-Fil-A store as the service there is like no other Fast Food place you've been!
I think most fast food has about a 10-minute life expectancy. Never tastes as good when delivered 30+ minutes after it’s made. Best to hit the drive-thru and pig out like a pro in parking lot somewhere.
Like most fast food, it's considerably better if you aet it fresh, at the location. Especially the fries. As an American, the only fries I'll eat without ketchup is McDonalds. All others are meant to be dipped. The sandwich is good, but really needs some sauce, such a Chick-Fil-A, or Honey Mustard, to really make the sandwich.

Unfortunately we don't have Chick-fil-A here in Canada. It is only available in the US. It looks delicious though! If you're wanting to try a good fast food chicken sandwich, I would recommend trying the crispy chicken sandwich at Burger King. I like adding cheese and bacon to mine. I often get funny looks considering BK is mostly known for their whoppers, but it's one of those places where people don't think about trying their chicken sandwich. It's worth it though! 👌🍔
Chick-fil-a food is just better than average. the real draw is the service. my fav is just the plain #1. waffle fries with mayo, and their sweet tea or lemonade.

I'm a southwest southerner and I am one that loves mayo. One of the reasons I eat at CFA is because they let you season your own food. I know you don't like spicy, but I think you could handle the spicy chicken easily. As far as the tomatoes...If you want it fresh, get up and go there. Veggies don't travel well. Peace, Love!!
Criss-cut or waffle fries are that way because of how the potatoes are cut. That they are deep fried is a side note. Carl's Jr. fast food restaurants season their Criss- Cut fries. Taste even better with ranch dressing. I like Chic- Fil-A's chicken nuggets and sandwiches.

I always order the Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich & either Sweet Ice Tea or Frozen Lemonade, i agree that the Waffle Fries are basic you need to dip them in a sauce for a more satisfying taste! So my recommendations for good Chicken is Jollie Bee, its a Filipino fried chicken joint that found its way here to America (mainly in the Western States) where there are huge Filipino Communities its also in other states, but not as prominent as California, but man o man its delicious!!! If you do happen to find yourself in Jollie Bee order the Fried Chicken Original & Spicy (if ur okay with spicy), Pineapple/Mango drink, the Mango Pie & any othe special pies they might have; Taro, Buko, Banana pies etc....). You might want to try the Palabok (a thin white noodle dish that's on the salty side bcuz of the thick shrimp sauce, chicharon, green onions & lemon!). It might be a shock to ur taste buds at the start, but it's totally up to you to try the Palabok.
Hey! Welcome to STL! I really wish you would try local greats here instead of fast food. Not that we have good fried chicken here. We don’t. But you should try snoots. That’s very regional and so tasty! T-ravs are ok. They can be really good, but usually are just ok. IMOs is not great. Best STL pizza in my opinion is papa Vito’s over in Belleville. That’s good stuff. But we have such a great food culture here. Fairmont City with Mexican food. We have the Balkan Treat Box which even inspired Alton Brown. Try out black market eats, Vicia, or a host of other great local places. I think that Midwest taste is generally bland, but STL is enough of a mixing pot to have some really fantastic food. Don’t miss out on snoots though. So good
Honestly, I’d be happy to buy some snoots and bring them to you. Just to be an STL food evangelist, lol. I generally get them from Beast (again Belleville), but if you see it, get it because it’s the real deal. Don’t get it if you are in KC though. Not the same.
It’s the best if you eat it fresh. A half hour later it’s not going to be great. That’s why I always go to ChikFilA their food id fresh unlike every other fast food restaurant.
You need to try Braums. A Braums cheeseburger has the freshest vegetables and the bun is fantastic. They raise their own cattle and vegetables. Braums is a chain in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. AND they make their own ice cream.
don't know why anyone would order fast food delivered - it's guaranteed to be cold food. Fries need to be consumed as they're made, not 40 minutes later.

I typically would get the non-deluxe chicken sandwich (only has a couple pickles on it) and then put the chik-fil-a sauce on the sandwich.

Sorry about that, but the waffle fries are often called 'air conditioned fries' because they get cold so fast. Also, the proper order is not the deluxe sandwich but the regular sandwich. And no Chick-fil-A sauce, get the honey mustard and/or Polynesian sauce. Hey get one of each and try them both, they are for the sandwich not the fries, ketchup is for fries.
All Fast food restaurants have a special sauce Mickey D's has the Big Mac sauce Chic-Fil-A has the Chic-Fil-A sauce and so on. They are all almost the same.
I never get fried chicken like you had. I usually get grilled chicken. Much better.
Try Raising Cain's. But make sure NOT to have it delivered go to the location.
Hi Miss Marie !!! Yes the Chick - Fil - A does have A Terrific Chicken Sandwich 🥪. And yes the fries look a Little weird but they Taste pretty good to me !!! & The sweet tea is really good as well 😊

I always get the Chic-Fil-A Deluxe meal myself. Sometimes I add the nuggets or a chocolate shake. In the 1990's they were pretty basic and bad, but I think the entire company got overhauled and redone from the ground up (much like Hardee's did several years later). Ever since, and as long as you like chicken, I don't think you'll find a better fast-food chicken sandwich... with the service being top-notch every time I have gone. They really go above and beyond and usually seem to be well-staffed. I have never worked for them, so I don't know how they are on that side, but while many fast food places seem to only have the bare minimum employees even when it would be busy, Chic-Fil-A seems to have a decent number working, and they are usually quite fast in terms of service and fresh meals.
FYI: You probably would have liked the waffle fries more if they were hot (temperature, not spicy hot). Getting them 25 to 30 minutes later might have dulled the taste, and I don't think many fries at many fast food places taste as good if they are cold.
BTW: They are always closed on Sundays, and most Christian holidays, so don't be surprised. 😁

CFA's fries are not salted and definitely need a sauce. I typically skip them, and go back to get their ice cream, after I've finished my food (so it doesn't have time to melt). I always dine, and never do take-out from any place (except for Chinese food).
They are salted with sea salt, but not enough, in my opinion.
When I was a teenager, our mall had put in a new Chick-Fil-A. Part of getting people to try the new restaurant was by giving free samples of their chicken nuggets. They always had the cutest girls standing out front handing them out, so doing what young men do, I would try to talk to them in hopes of getting a date under the guise of wanting a free sample. This went on, day after day, and soon enough, I had started to develop an addiction to Chick-Fil-A. I would would crave it. Sadly, the restaurant closed, leaving me with no way to obtain my yummy chicken. There was a hole inside now.
Many years later, I found out there was a Chick-Fil-A two states away. As fate would have it, I needed to drive that way anyway, so with a slight detour, I was able to recapture my love for that flavor. Once I returned home, I had found there was a Chick-Fil-A the next county over this whole time! *shakes fist at the sky angrily*

I always get the nuggets. The Polynesian sauce is my favorite. The waffle fries are really only good when they're hot. Once they start to cool, they get blah. The regular lemonade is better IMO.
You should try Arby's (roast beef) while you're here. Get the Beef and Cheddar sandwich with the curly fries. I'm not a shake person so can't recommend one but I usually don't get a drink from there.

You've ate food from AZ. Chick-fil-A 'spicy" is no more spicy than any of that. It's quite mild, but more flavorful than the regular version. I think you would have liked it, had you not seen the word "spicy."
My recommendation is to get chicken strips versus the nuggets. I find the chicken strips are very good with any of their sauces.

Marie, your food reviews are hilarious to watch! "First Bite Syndrome"! 🤣 The Chick-fil-A sauce is sold in grocery stores in the sauce isle. You can go buy a few of them and then mail them to yourself in France. Don't UPS or FedEX, just normal everyday US Post Office, and you'll have some back home in your own kitchen!
The Waffle Fries are just a great way to start a snack. Add a lot of cheese to them and they're awesome, or take them home and add cheese and chili to them (not the spicy chili because you don't like spice) and then put it in the oven until it's hot and you'll love them! I'm glad you got to experience them this way though.
I'm also happy that you added that last comment once you had eaten everything. It really is good food, and the nuggets are fantastic as well.

What sets Chick-fil-A apart from the competition is the customer service. You will never experience nicer or more polite fast food employees anywhere else. By ordering online rather than dine-in, you missed the customer experience and didn't get your food hot & fresh. That said, my favorite items are the Spicy Deluxe sandwich and the Cobb Salad with Honey Mustard dressing. P.S. try the sauce on the chicken! 😉

Don't give up on the waffle fries. They have a different texture, and to be appreciated I believe that it needs to be eaten dine in.
I prefer the regular Chick-fil-A sandwich because it doesn't have lettuce & tomato & I get Mac n cheese instead of fries. & half sweet tea half lemonade which we call an Arnold Palmer. 😂
I think next trip to US you should try chicken 🐔 &waffles , its a thing here in US . We have alot in Chicago and most southern states. Oh and collard greens ❤ yummy mustard greens are just as yummy too 😋
When it comes to the regular chicken sandwich, I prefer Chick-fil-A. When it comes to the spicy version, I prefer Popeyes. That said, I don't think of the "spicy" chicken sandwich to be overbearing when it comes to heat, but leaves enough to keep the mouth tingly and salivating for the next bite.
I like the waffle fries, but I prefer them as fresh as possible so that they remain hot and crispy. They are simply a thicker form of pommes gaufrettes that you find in France. As others have stated, the food is better at the restaurant.
I never had Chick-fil-a when I was young as it was just a food place in the mall. Then I had a sandwich that was provided as lunch while working an event or show where we couldn’t leave - it was just the pain sandwich and it was smashed flat and cold. It was still pretty good! So I decided to get my own as I knew of several stand-alone stores out of the mall. I thought I might have made a mistake as the place was crowded and I wouldn’t have time - actually it was very organized and the process moved quick and the service people were sooooo much better than we have become used to! The order takers look you in the eyes and smile, they speak articulately and type in the order quickly and ask/offer relevant sauces/sides/sizes. The food was prepared by people that understood hygienic practices and followed them! Last, the food was assembled and packaged well and tasted good! They don’t have a huge variety of products, but the food they do serve is good and the experience getting the food is good!
I get a basic spicy chicken sandwich with extra pickles, fries get ketchup that has a packet of Texas Pete sauce mixed in, and the tea/lemonade mix to drink.
Adding the Chick-Fil-A Sauce on the Sandwich would have elevated it tot he next level! Otherwise it is just a good Chicken Sandwich. Also, I agree about the Waffle Fries. They are pretty plain, but I really like the texture of them compared to other Fast Food places. Also, once again they Sauce takes the Fries to the next level. Next time actually go to the Chick-Fil-A store as the service there is like no other Fast Food place you've been!
I think most fast food has about a 10-minute life expectancy. Never tastes as good when delivered 30+ minutes after it’s made. Best to hit the drive-thru and pig out like a pro in parking lot somewhere.
Chick-Fil-A is my favorite for chicken sandwiches. I get it straight, pickle and extra butter on the bread with the chicken patty.
Like most fast food, it's considerably better if you aet it fresh, at the location. Especially the fries. As an American, the only fries I'll eat without ketchup is McDonalds. All others are meant to be dipped. The sandwich is good, but really needs some sauce, such a Chick-Fil-A, or Honey Mustard, to really make the sandwich.

Unfortunately we don't have Chick-fil-A here in Canada. It is only available in the US. It looks delicious though! If you're wanting to try a good fast food chicken sandwich, I would recommend trying the crispy chicken sandwich at Burger King. I like adding cheese and bacon to mine. I often get funny looks considering BK is mostly known for their whoppers, but it's one of those places where people don't think about trying their chicken sandwich. It's worth it though! 👌🍔

Chick-fil-a food is just better than average. the real draw is the service. my fav is just the plain #1. waffle fries with mayo, and their sweet tea or lemonade.
You can actually buy the sauce at the grocery store in a bottle to use on a lot of things 🌷

I always use the sauce with the chicken and then use ketchup with the fries. Waffle fries are my fav because they hold more ketchup, and I love my fries drowned in ketchup 😆. Be blessed! ❤
Sorry, Mary, food was subpar. Usually I do get the nuggets hot and fresh with the sriracha sauce. I was talking to my son today about chicken sandwiches since I had a bad experience at Wendys. He said the best fast food chicken sandwich is from Habit Burger which is a Cali place here in Maryland. Bon apetite! 👍🏻

I'm a southwest southerner and I am one that loves mayo. One of the reasons I eat at CFA is because they let you season your own food. I know you don't like spicy, but I think you could handle the spicy chicken easily. As far as the tomatoes...If you want it fresh, get up and go there. Veggies don't travel well. Peace, Love!!

Criss-cut or waffle fries are that way because of how the potatoes are cut. That they are deep fried is a side note.
Carl's Jr. fast food restaurants season their Criss- Cut fries. Taste even better with ranch dressing. I like Chic- Fil-A's chicken nuggets and sandwiches.

So, i do really like Chick-fil-A but love it.... not really. I always order the Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich & either Sweet Ice Tea or Frozen Lemonade, i agree that the Waffle Fries are basic you need to dip them in a sauce for a more satisfying taste! So my recommendations for good Chicken is Jollie Bee, its a Filipino fried chicken joint that found its way here to America (mainly in the Western States) where there are huge Filipino Communities its also in other states, but not as prominent as California, but man o man its delicious!!! If you do happen to find yourself in Jollie Bee order the Fried Chicken Original & Spicy (if ur okay with spicy), Pineapple/Mango drink, the Mango Pie & any othe special pies they might have; Taro, Buko, Banana pies etc....). You might want to try the Palabok (a thin white noodle dish that's on the salty side bcuz of the thick shrimp sauce, chicharon, green onions & lemon!). It might be a shock to ur taste buds at the start, but it's totally up to you to try the Palabok.

Chick-fil-A is way better fresh (dine-in), than it ever is as takeout. Same thing applies to In-N-Out.
We eat ketchup on fries. Sauce is only for chicken strips or nuggets.
Hey! Welcome to STL! I really wish you would try local greats here instead of fast food. Not that we have good fried chicken here. We don’t. But you should try snoots. That’s very regional and so tasty! T-ravs are ok. They can be really good, but usually are just ok. IMOs is not great. Best STL pizza in my opinion is papa Vito’s over in Belleville. That’s good stuff. But we have such a great food culture here. Fairmont City with Mexican food. We have the Balkan Treat Box which even inspired Alton Brown. Try out black market eats, Vicia, or a host of other great local places. I think that Midwest taste is generally bland, but STL is enough of a mixing pot to have some really fantastic food. Don’t miss out on snoots though. So good
Honestly, I’d be happy to buy some snoots and bring them to you. Just to be an STL food evangelist, lol. I generally get them from Beast (again Belleville), but if you see it, get it because it’s the real deal. Don’t get it if you are in KC though. Not the same.
It’s the best if you eat it fresh. A half hour later it’s not going to be great. That’s why I always go to ChikFilA their food id fresh unlike every other fast food restaurant.
You need to try Braums. A Braums cheeseburger has the freshest vegetables and the bun is fantastic. They raise their own cattle and vegetables. Braums is a chain in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. AND they make their own ice cream.
don't know why anyone would order fast food delivered - it's guaranteed to be cold food. Fries need to be consumed as they're made, not 40 minutes later.

Waffle fries are pretty good, but they aren't pommes souffle. Had them at a foie gras restaurant in Paris and my eyes were opened.
