- The woodland stream was hiding a crazy looking fish! In this video we head out to the stream in the woods. Chub are the target species and using smelly static baits is the method of choice for trying to tempt this greedy species. This can be a great time of year to target chub, as they're one of the few species that will happily still feed in the freezing winter temperatures.

Excellent work with the underwater footage of how the chub reacts to the bait. A world that us anglers rarely get to see and appreciate.

I use a John Wilson 10ft avon 1 1/4 lb tc with a built in white quiver tip for my chubbing.

Had a chuckle at your finess comment... size 12 was a shark hook when I was younger... I used to fish 20s and 22s, big being a 16.... sadly had to stop when someone decided on emptying the shed of my tackle.... but ur videos are giving me a kick up the rear.... thanks again👍

Great video Chris. As long as the water isn't too coloured i use mashed up stale bread and a piece of crust on the hook. A real cheap but a killer bait in the winter for chub.
Another great session Mate. I love fishing these tiny streams as well. I have quite a few Brooks as we call them, packed with all kinds of fish. Not Monsters, just a great day of fun. I have one just out side My door running all the way out of one of those Secret Ponds, and the Fish go In them to Spawn. Keep 'Em Coming.

Great vid of the underwater take . I've found strong cheddar cheese to work well and I'm told that chubb get spooky after the first one is released back so at this time of year I tend to rove (helps to keep warm)
