Rock Hopping Racing is Finally Back!

- The debrief video for the Rolex Fastnet Race 2023 is still in the works, but I really want to start posting more current content, as I have some very exciting sailing plans for 2024... including some offshore races which start next month, any guesses? In the meantime, here's some footage from our very first inshore race of the year, and they did not ease us in with the course - there was a lot of rock hopping! What a way to sail into the new year.

Thank you! Great, I’ll have a look into uploading some raw footage. It would need to be either with music overlay or without audio (as I wouldn’t want to put raw audio on the internet which might reflect badly on other crew members for comments or tone during the heat of racing), I hope that would still be of interest
That was a very early regatta of the year, didn't look too cold actually. Nice boat to crew on. Look forward to more videos. We have our first regatta next weekend, here in Moraira sunny Spain, hopefully a little warmer. Will be mounting a Gopro to record all the action.
We actually have races throughout winter in Guernsey, once a fortnight until spring - lucky us! It’s often cold but we get some great conditions!

Get halyard tension through tacks. Great video, nice crew work. Question: Why no hiking stick on the tillers?
That’s exactly what we ended up doing, but unfortunately my GoPro battery died so it didn’t make the video! We don’t have a hiking stick because you can helm from the rail (we have two tillers). Glad you enjoyed the video, plenty more to come!

Congratulations on 2nd place! Would be interested in maybe some raw footage. Also (if at all possible) maybe you can gan put a little GPS tracker on your boat to plot your course on a mini map to visualize during the video. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Happy to upload some raw footage - but it’d have to be either with music (no audio from camera) or no sound at all, what would you prefer as a viewer? Great idea re the GPS tracker - we should be able to get that data from our onboard computer, but it’s not worked for me the last few times I’ve tried - fingers crossed it will work next time!
