Taking A Ride On The Famous Tram Eléctrico E28 In Lisbon | One Of The World's Steepest Inclines

  • Lisbon’s famous 28E tram braves some of the world’s steepest inclines in style as it trundles between the old town and the downtown. Usually, the Eléctrico 28 would be packed with tourists from all over the world, but because of covid-19 there aren’t very many people here to enjoy the beautiful ride at the moment. Line 28E is one of Lisbon’s oldest tram lines - taking you on an enchanting journey through the Portuguese capital, rumbling past landmarks even older than the line itself.

    Beautiful country, city. The tram is indeed a relaxed way to see the sights of the city. Long live the tram.

    This tram line got so many emotions to it. It is a remarkable way in both travel and engineering. Yes, trams can go uphill!

    Lisbon is a beautiful city. Will definitely go back. Went on this tram as part of my to-do list. Get the train to cascais, estoril and belem too. Pickpockets were a warning for this tram but you just need to keep your wits.

    0:45 Perhaps wise not to do that.
    3:14 The man actually says: 'Inverting [the lever], it recovers electricity from the wheels as brake'. Sorry subtitles, but the wheels don't move in the opposite direction to brake in any vehicle on land.

    • @DennisSantos
      @DennisSantos Před 5 měsíci

      He meant the wheels oppose the tram's forward motion.

      they arent. they are noisy and can break faster than a car. when I was a kid I was afraid of beeing killed by one because I saw how fast the go, but once I moved definitively to lisbon I realized it isnt a big deal

      @@Duck-wc9de noisy and break faster than a car? Meanwhile in my city: cars look like a piece of junk after a tram crash while the tram is still in a kinda good condition.
      Can’t really agree on the noisy part too, at least from my experience. Our trams are quite and only make noises on switches and sharp curves. I mean, they come every 5-10 minutes while cars pass my building the whole time.
