BMW 740i Review: A Luxury Sedan For Under $50,000!!

- The 2016-2019 BMW 7 Series is an excellent LUXURY sedan for a young mogul, a CEO perhaps. In this video I break down why it's such a good value proposition when used, and why some may actually prefer the 'pre-LCI' looks. Probably one of the best options if you're looking to spend around $50k for a lightly used luxury sedan... a LAND YACHT!

Just bought a 740 i with 40,000 miles on the clock for 34,000. No M Sport (just don`t see the value) but with the exec package. I do a lot of miles and this is the most relaxing car I ever had. You just don`t care what happens around you. Great choice for somebody who`s looking for a comfy daily cruiser. Driven by an older guy and not a scratch on it. And I get about 26 mpg.
These depreciate like a rock going of a cliff with a rocket attached. It's a great value for half off after two years.
That’s exactly right!!!
Lol
Great video, Reo! 👍
Very well done my man! I'm in the market for a new car and this one is on the list. As an older guy I'm in it for the luxury cruising aspect and if need to get a little sporty on the road as well. Thanks for the work on the video.
Great reviews. Love this guys work.
Appreciate it g 🙏🏼
Great video! Very informative !
I'm picking mine up this Friday. 2016 740i, 79,000 miles for $25,300.
B58 engine?
@Chill Bro I'm not skilled at those designation numbers. It's a 3 liter incline 6 cylinder.
@@carycoller3140 I think 2017 is the first model year after B48 and B58's introduction
2016 740i started using B58 6 cylinder engines
I love it, I own the 2018 BMW 740i with the rear shades, heads up display and ambient air freshener feature... You forgot to show the gesture features they are really cool!!😎😎😎
Haha the gestures are a treat... I don't think this particular one had that option, but all the newer 7's should! :)
Very informative video.🙏
It's massive and that's why I purchased one cause I like that it was big. Plus it's a 2018 for $33000 that was a great deal. Sat at a Lexus dealership for 3 months.
Hahah yes it is. And you got an absolute steal... feel bad for whoever lost 70% on that in a few years 🤦🏻♂️
My father had this in 2016, I found one for 34K here in FL and am very tempted. Lol
Great video.
@@timbo7078 😈 a lot of bang for the buck at that price, just make sure it’s sorted and you have money put aside for occasional mishaps
Sick video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ur sick 😘
Another great video man.....and YES this 740i especially with xdrive is sooo soooo good. Thanx to the b58 engine. Think about it you get basically the 750i space and luxury WITH the awesome and tunable b58.
Now help me with this.....the 2016 740i IS the first year of the b58? You can tune it with bm3 or any other tuning so it can keep up with 750i. I admit if ever sell my 340i I will get this one I think. And then just do a simple stage 1.
Thank you! Yes I believe 16' would be the first year of B58 for the 740i... and I agree, this with a tune is plenty fast for a luxo-barge 😅😅
I have a 17’ 740i stock b58 how can I do stage 1 tune?
Yeah, a 1300 dollar tune gets you within 20-25 horsepower of the 750i...
Very informative video loved everything except the Comment on the Mercedes S class : I would never choose an s class over this car. Love the BMW 740i I think you definitely feel like the a G in the 7
Hahah fair enough... I definitely felt like a G whipping the 7 series around 😅
My experience with the 750s have been reliability issues. The 4.4L had a $100 valve that cost over $1000 because they had to almost remove the engine. The 3L is supposed to be more reliable.
The 3.0L's both N55 and B58 are certainly a bit more reliable!
@David Oh
I think they solved that problem in the 2014 and later V8's
@@turnne I have a friend who works on German cars and he said Mercedes is more reliable than BMW and both are better than Audi.
@David Oh.....
You better believe the 3.0 is wayyyy more reliable than the V8.
Can we all take a moment and appreciate that freeeesshhhhhh hairstyle
Hahaha been had cut :/
that care is the chill boss joint.
Ya it is 😎
How is the reliability with the 740i with the b58 engine? Do you think this is a good buy if it has around 60,000 miles?
thanks for this review. I agreed with some of the stuff you were saying and you were being honest I appreciate it I laughed a few times The new 740i i think is dope btw
Hey man I would love to hear your opinion about the 2021 / 5 series!
Just purchased same exact everything from your car tonight! It’s nice still learning progress it’s 2016 😅
Haha very nice!! Hope you enjoy it :)
Any problems

Nice vid! Just bought a 2017 740i 37k. Crazy how these 7s depreciate.
Killer deals, it’s almost a shame to purchase them new
How’s the reliability ?

What up Rio. I'm in the market for a 2017 740i. Can you tell me what major problems if any you've encountered? The one I have my eyes on has 66k miles, No accidents, a clean title, and 3 owners.
Sick review, I can't decide between the 2019 740i and the 2020 740i... the 2020 is about $7-$10k more, but it has the more aggressive facelift... just trying to decide if I should wait til 2023 for the price to drop, or just get the 2019 right now (which I can afford easily) ... thoughts?
The facelift sure looks sweet (I've reviewed both) but that's quite a bit of dough for mostly an aesthetic difference... I'd probably wait and see if possible!
The facelift is hideous, imo. Save money and go with the more attractive pre-facelift model. Those new oversized grills are a deal breaker for me...
I'm on the same boat g shit it's the 19 or wait till price drop but I think we should wait but how long
When would the price go down?
Facelifted one looks terrible I literally saw in 2022 a group of young ladies laugh at one while leaving a restaurant.. the driver was not happy.
I prefer the old style prior to 2020. The new giant BMW angled grills are horrible. They are going in the direction of Lexus and Toyotas which are fugly. The new Mercedes are doing the same with the long thing lights, which is a step down. The heads up display is awesome in this car, not sure if it’s still an option.
I believe it still is an option and I totally see where you're coming from... I actually prefer the facelifted (LCI) 7 series to this pre-LCI model... but it's one of very few newer BMW designs that I still thoroughly enjoy :/
I’m considering the 7 series again lol I had the 2008 one but it had a lot of problems and my bro in law has the 2016 750i xdrive but he was under warranty at the time so it saved him in repairs and that’s what I’m trying avoid looking for one 2016 - 2017 how many miles should I be looking for with up to date maintenance? Somebody told me it’s better to go with the rear wheel drive tho what’s y’all thoughts will appreciate any info as I’m looking for one
08 was a bad year for BMW. Both the 6 and 8 cylinders were bad...
I like the fact you said, I feel like a bosss :))) this is how I feel lol ,, maybe you are the boss lol
Haha thanks man! 😎😎
I like the pre LCI model.
I’m debating between this and a 550. Those 550s look pretty big.
Yassss
I love it....I have the 2018 740i...with the heads of display ,rear window shades and the ambient air freshener feature
Nice video. Will have to disagree on the driving mechanics. Have you actually pushed it? Try it out. (It will tighten and surprise)
Thank you! I didn’t so much mean to say that the car ‘couldn’t’ be driven hard or handle speed, but that it ‘didn’t’ egg you on or encourage that behavior the same way some of the smaller Bimmers with that same engine do !!
Thinking about looking into a 2019 (36k miles) for 45k. I always wanted a 7 but I keep reading bad reviews on the liability. They also offering 60 month or 125,000 warranty. Can you share your thoughts on this?
I'm looking at some too... And yes I'm buying the full warranty
@@skippynj1979 dope. We decided to go with a 2018 x6
@@RickTv631 yes that's sexy too. Have fun
how much were they offering for the warranty?
Quick question. What do you think about 2019 740i 23,000 miles for 50,000. Good deal?
Hard to say, but doesn't sound terrible...
Why people are scared of buying used bmw even if they are less than 100k in km?
That's a good point, I'd even go as far as to say most current gen BMW's shouldn't have any serious issues thru 100k MILES!
Lowkey trynna get that land yacht🤔
Wow I don’t believe it haha
Did they go away with the "Li"? Because every one of these I see is only an "i" model.
Yes, they're all the longer wheelbase "Li" now! So no need to distinguish
Can tell me issues that you had with this car please? And how much on repairs $ ? Thanks
I only drove this car for 1 day, but as far as I'm aware, there were no major issues with this car during its several year ownership!
@@Reoniz thanks
Wait till 2023 guys & it will be cheaper to get 👌
Nice car..I believe god will bless me with one
You got this !!
You will! 3 to 4 years ago never thought I could afford this but now I’m looking to buy one! Stay blessed

What's even cooler about this big BMW 7 series is when it bankrupt you with endless repairs..... it's from personal experience....
Next cope forsure!
Randy you’re a beast
No extras in that care
Haha true
Are you khash from TIKTOK?
Hahaha what??
Why the 750? Some of us prefer our performance car wearing a tuxedo. If you can have your cake and eat it, why not?

So The white guy Says he feels like a black Uber driver in this BMW? interesting .
Potentially the worst reliability of any luxury vehicle made. Like all BMWs it’s over engineered which leads to significant problems as they age. Even following the maintenance schedule which is an absolute requirement your going to be faced with big bills the longer you own it.
It's a bit of an over-exaggeration to say it's the worst reliability of 'any' luxury vehicle... but sure, it can/will cost you more than an equivalent $50k car-it also gives you much more luxury and refinement than almost any $50k car so it's a trade off for a certain type of buyer
I will agree with you in the sense that for me personally, it's not worth it... I also have no desire to drive a land yacht around 😅
@@Reoniz love to hear what you think has worse reliability? I’ve owned 2 of them (yes I’m a slow learner) and they are absolutely horrible.
@@curtlizzi3167 hahah fair enough... but I'd still say anything from Alfa or Maserati
