Bart, like Cain unto Abel, took his slingshot in hand and slayed his sibling so quickly that she had no time to react.
Homer, having witnessed the murder, hurried up to his murderous son and slain daughter. Overcome with rage and fatherly grief, he wrapped his hands around Bart’s neck, with the same ease he’d had done it with so many times before.
“Why you little-“ Homer couldn’t even finish before tightening his hold around Bart’s neck, he was so furious.
But Bart was furious too. It was a cold fury; unlike his father, he didn’t want to cause long lasting torture and a painful death. He merely wanted to be rid of them all. Be rid of Homer.
“Eat my shorts.” Bart spat, and he shot his father between the eyes, and Homer flew with the force of the impact.
“Why you little...” the man repeated, quietly this time, as he perished.
Quickly, Bart ran to his youngest sister. She was innocent in his mind; she hadn’t mocked or harmed him, being far too young. If anyone deserved to survive his wrath, it was her.
“Maggie, lets skedaddle,” he joked, trying to lighten the mood.
But Maggie has seen what her brother became. He had acted with the same viciousness as their father - or their late father - when he would turn on his children. But Homer’s abuse came from rage, like a cornered animal, and Maggie could find some layer of sympathy in her heart. Bart’s was cold, and planned, and heartless. Maggie wanted none of it.
So, without a word, Maggie faded, leaving Bart truly alone. Like Cain, a murderer doomed to crumble.
