I forget if I heard Maurice say this in an interview or if someone commented this on a video, but I heard that Maurice didn't usually sing lead because he was trying to let his brothers shine and, as the peacemaker, was trying not to be another person fighting for the lead. So, I wish they would've quit fighting for the lead and given him more lead in songs because he had such a beautiful voice that got hidden in his harmonizing or sometimes silenced by him just playing instruments (I know he played and sang a lot, too, though, which is why I said sometimes). That's not to say that he wasn't amazing at harmonizing (although it's hard to tell his voice apart from his brothers') and playing multiple different instruments, I just feel like he should've gotten to sing more lead on top of doing that.
Absolute rubbish. You twisted his words completely from 2 or more different conversations. Barry was selfish as he now admits and its true Maurice did play the peacemaker at times but Robin and Barry wrote most of the Beegees songs together. Maurice had no ambitions to sing lead and it was Robin who persuaded him to do so more frequently. Robin and Maurice should have left Barry to it and wrote together as the Gibb twins. Barry's ridiculous screeching ruined so many songs that I, a Beegees fan since the mid 60s almost gave up on them if hadn't been for Robins unique voice and solo albums which were really Gibb twins albums. The ironic thing is Barry when he sang properly had a great voice, but the band was his, according to him and now his brothers are gone he regrets his selfishness. That's what living amongst the arrogant people will do to some people living in the USA and Australia.

Mo' was gifted to be an expert to do the 2nd harmony or the 3rd voice in their harmony. THAT is quite difficult to do. Not very many singers, even the pros, can easily do the 2nd harmony. It's more in the DNA. It cannot be formally trained especially if one is a songwriter. I know of some very good singers who can do the 2nd voice just -piece o' cake to them BUT, has no earthly idea how to do the 3rd voice mechanics. Maurice has perfected this to the point that he has a separated option of the studio version harmony different from their LIVE versions. For the LIVE ones, his 2nd harmony is sometimes more creative and impactful for a live performance. Sometimes I wonder how does he snatch those unusual & difficult notes, which gave their songs such distinctive harmonies. This is the reason why when you listen to other groups covering their songs, there's always that missing umphf! That is actually Mo's 2nd harmony that they can't effectively replicate.
This is the reason (among other reasons) that the Bee Gees ended their career after Maurice left us. It would not be possible to continue without him. He , Maurice , with his smile , with his humility and his IRREPLACEABLE talent .
@denniseudela411 I love that. You described that well. I always felt and heard and truly enjoyed that brilliant harmoneus sound but couldn't quite explain it that way. Mo also had his own rich smooth wonderful individual vocals that I loved. His lead songs was a great contribution. I loved this compilation. I did not know that it existed. Mo was so attractive, very sexy and so so sweet. His style, his excellent dancing, his soft brown eyes and his beautiful dazzling smile left us way too soon. Almost 21 years now but he left us with his wonderful legacy. Thank you Maurice rest easy darling.

Mo' was gifted to be an expert to do the 2nd harmony or the 3rd voice in their harmony.
THAT is quite difficult to do.
Not very many singers, even the pros, can easily do the 2nd harmony.
It's more in the DNA. It cannot be formally trained especially if one is a songwriter.
I know of some very good singers who can do the 2nd voice just -piece o' cake to them BUT, has no earthly idea how to do the 3rd voice mechanics.
Maurice has perfected this to the point that he has a separated option of the studio version harmony different from their LIVE versions.
For the LIVE ones, his 2nd harmony is sometimes more creative and impactful for a live performance.
Sometimes I wonder how does he snatch those unusual & difficult notes, which gave their songs such distinctive harmonies.
This is the reason why when you listen to other groups covering their songs, there's always that missing umphf!
That is actually Mo's 2nd harmony that they can't effectively replicate.
This is the reason (among other reasons) that the Bee Gees ended their career after Maurice left us. It would not be possible to continue without him. He , Maurice , with his smile , with his humility and his IRREPLACEABLE talent .
@denniseudela411 I love that. You described that well. I always felt and heard and truly enjoyed that brilliant harmoneus sound but couldn't quite explain it that way. Mo also had his own rich smooth wonderful individual vocals that I loved. His lead songs was a great contribution. I loved this compilation. I did not know that it existed. Mo was so attractive, very sexy and so so sweet. His style, his excellent dancing, his soft brown eyes and his beautiful dazzling smile left us way too soon. Almost 21 years now but he left us with his wonderful legacy. Thank you Maurice rest easy darling.

To jest tak piękna Muzyka...że nie potrafię z niej zrezygnować bez względu na porę dnia czy nocy...tak jak teraz mimo innego rodzju zmęczenua z wielką uwagą korzystam z tej.niezwykłej pr,zyjemności...przywileju jakim jest dar sł uchania Muzyki tych Niezwykłych Ludzi.Dziękuję Maurycy...Robin...Barry i Andy chociaż Ciebie tu nie ma pomiędzy wciąż w pamięci Jesteś bliski swoim Braciom.Został tylko Barry. Bardzo mi przykro Barry...że musiałeś przez to wszystko przechodzić.Napierw Andy...potem Maurycy....I Robin...ale Ty wciąż pamiętając o swoich Braciom jesteś jakobyvpowołany do Misji Specjalnej.Zatem dbaj o te vhwile Wspomnień wspólnie przeżytych ze swoimi Braćmi.Są cudowni i utalentowani tak jak Ty... choć największym Twórcą Muzyki wśród Braci jesteś jednak Ty.... - ale nie robisz z tego wielkiego 'hallo'.Tak bardzo Ci wiele zawdzięczamy...a Twoja skromność jest niebywałą...tak jak Twoje o Miłości Piosenki.❤❤❤
