Wish I lived somewhere I could forage like this
Always amazed at your ability to spot all these critters, Smash. Guernsey is a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for the videos, mate!
It's all fun and games until you get pinched in the leg.. I think that will hurt a lot more than rubber bands. Much love always. Please stay safe everyone
🎉😅
He absolutely should be banding them, would hate to see him loose a digit!
You forgot the king crab... *KING CRAB CAN CUT A FINGER OR WORSE*
@15:19 All about that crusher claw for me...Cracking lobster and great forage Smash...🙂👍
@6:18 "put that one back" then crushes it with the rock lol
I wish I see live this sea side and you Always amazed at your ability to spot all these critters, Smash. Guernsey is a beautiful part of the world. love you from my side
Lobster galore bud!! Epic foraging trip 👊👊 and those ormers looked huge…. Great stuff 😊👍👍
How about a lovely lobster bisque? You certainly harvest enough lobster shells.
Brilliant video jay💥 new foraging grounds there, lots of life & dinner 🤣
You were on a roll catching lobsters and ormas. I'll have to wait until my wife and I go back to Florida to catch lobsters.
That lemon is delicious too.thanks great video
That was one heck of a meaty Larry. Looked damn tasty. So jealous.
I thought "Smash" looked a bit ill? He had that "sheepish look" 14:09 usually a sign that a dog might be feeling under the weather?
That's probably why he went for a nap and not to have some lobster?
Hope he's OK, anyway?
Great video 👌
Looks great 😋😋🏴
All the hard work has paid off
We love watching you. You are so lucky living there. Where's young Sam ? Haven't seen him for awhile😊
Love this, reminds me of forraging for crabs etc on Mumbles light house as a younger bloke; also trawled and fished and scuba dived; scallops in Devon, bbq ready,....happy days;.....make it last.
Hey Jay, don’t forget my shell sweetie. Still waiting love looks like a nice new spot that you were at though. My goodness looks like a good haul good clean and cook tonight, huh?
You looked stuffed when eating that Larry 👍
Another great adventure love u to do lobster thermadore smash yum yum
Nice catch mesh...enjoy my friend...yummy
Smash fishing baby wow 🙂
Those abalones are amazing. We can't do that here in California 😢 mainly because we don't have them in abundance like that.
Smashing video Jay 👍😋😋
did you just smash that little star fish😮
Can someone please advise me which beaches are good for foraging in the UK?
As always, totally brilliant, thank you and power to your channel!
NO GARLIC!?!?!?! Sacrilege.... Looks good.
Always love your videos mate - you always seem to be having fun doing it 👍
Know I want to make some soup with all that sea food.
I never stop smiling whenever you say water (wo ahh)
"Get in my bag" lol
Hi - Love watching these vids - super informative - thanks so much. Trying to buy me a foraging bag like yours with the handle on - where did you get it please.
ALways fun down at low tide finding dinner. Wish you cooked up some of the other shells. In California the abalone are big. I never ate any but liked the colorful shells.
Amazing video thanks from New Zealand. Where our limit for Paus ( blackfoot abalone) is 6 each @ 100mm
I like how he's British
I would like to play on the beach like you 😅
Amazing catch !
he caught a shiny pokemon
oh im addicted
Jay, do you push the meat out of the lobster legs as well? Thank you for sharing your adventures.
you should team up with the fish locker!
Pov: you are a lobster hiding under a rock
Now you've got me craving Lobster so bad ...😢
First time watching . Love it
Yeah boi!!!
Smashed it today bro I want find my own lobster and try it as fresh as it could be
Loved watching this do the lobster 🦞 just hold on to the stick ? Can u find then on owt Cornish beaches ?
What is the catch limit on abalone in your country?
And size limit seemed small too
I just had dinner ....and now I wanna go out and have a lobster!!!
but'ah is bett'ah wih lemonn 👌🏻😂
Ur a true lobster mobster!
do the water patrol every check all your catches?
I have a abalone recipe you definitely need to try so pan on the stove on half dash a oil once pans hot then in goes a whole diced onion once clear then add diced abalone and full cream drop temp down to simmer that's the New Zealand way to cook abalone you will regret not cooking all your abalone this way
When you try it if you love it wouldn't hurt to ah give New Zealand a lil shout out lol
So much for fishing for the future
This is 10000x more sustainable than commercial fishing
Thanks!
Yea Boy
Nothing like just a little butter and lemon on your seafood, no need for all the other stuff!
Try the lobster with a little chill
The shore near my house used to be like this 10-15 years ago, get ,3,4,5+ lobsters at a time but now there’s like 150+ pots set out near all the rocks so you’d be lucky to catch one lobster on a spring tide now :(
Yes, GET SOME PRAWNS! Hopefully haha! The claw on that lobster though, I swear it's half the size of your head!
This man is a built in tank without any gloves just grabs the lobsters
Gloves are for sissy’s 😂
Where do you get the little plastic things to measure the lobsters? And how do you tell if it’s male or female. I’ve caught a couple recently and haven’t been able to tell if they were male or if they were big enough for dinner 😊
Oioi smash 👍👍
Not much but the measuring gauge was a solid find 😂
I love that shirt
Just curious did you clean the guts out the lobster? Ive never cooked or eaten it so i was confused/kinda grossed out by the yellow slimy looking part above the tail
Nice catches today, Jay. Is your stove propane? What do you do with the abalone shells? Thanks
Thanks pal
Hi what do they taste like never tried them?
What’s the limit per person for abalone over there? In nz it’s 10
I've never seen abalone taken in such amounts. Is this in Ireland or Scotland?
never been this early before😮😂
Yummy 🥰😍🇵🇭
How do you cook abalone in Guernsey
Were you hiding Sam, been a while since we seen him. 👌💯🇬🇧
Good one.. just curious is sea weed edible?
What are the big rock looking things?
Where is best place in uk to catch fresh lobster
Pauas chips and dip bro you need to make sme
My daughter thinks chef smash is cool, some how i gotta agree.great forage smash.
Haha that’s awesome 🔥 I’m no chief but I try an cook the best I can haha
That dog of yours, is it a Springer Spaniel or a Kleiner Münsterländer?
How many lobsters can you keep while foraging smash??
His limit is hit when one gets hold of an artery or some nuts (Sam for example 😊) hanging around.
Yeah I was thinking that also
Monster lobster… 😂. They are barley legal size where I come from. Canadian North Atlantic
Poor doggie didn't get a taste of Lary the lobster 😢
where is the place you costal forage ?
We only allowed 9 oma/paua here in New Zealand...
- 14:36 what kind of lobster is that? I always was told that only Maine, USA lobsters had claws.
Where was the location mate ?
Mate where is this???
Why does the meat part of the orma in the shell look like something else lol not saying nothing ladies 😂😂😂😂
Which country is this?
I wish we can forge abalone here where I leave its $25 a peace...
, always the same as the California abalone?
Is that your fallahs pauwa
🎉Hey Show your measuring gage next to the one that’s cut to the actual standards and quickly go over why you made your over sized. 😮
👍🇨🇦
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
It's very sad that there's no daily limit on Ormers in Guernsey. Abalone in California have declined, and so Guernsey should not be complacent. You're very good at finding them, but if a lot of people are doing that, with that rate of "harvesting", more are probably being taken than their breeding rate'll replace. Nice lobster. I've seen an idiot throw a used car battery off his boat in Guernsey, right over a scallop bed, so while you follow the rules, I suspect many don't. Hope the sea life there lasts.
You eat snails like French?
First again!
Abalone is the real name
Yeah I never heard whatever they are calling them before Ormas ?
@@chpet1655 And Paua in New Zealand. Orma is a channel Island local name. All collectively Abalone.
Clean and cook didn't show how to bit disappointed?
