    As a NC1095, 2023 owner in Florida, you are spot on the 10% of cost. And that is with no mortgage payments on boat and a running warranty.

      Hence the need for a stiff drink!

    Holy Shit. Yes you are so right . A boat who costs 300.000 € is 10% exactly perfect. Without eat and drink on board. ect e3ct. Croatia is also so expensive. ! My favorite place to drive. ! Thank you so much for the Deatails. !!

      Thanks for confirming the 10% rule. Scary isn't it!!! Happy boating in Croatia. Really want to go there one year for some cruising.

      Thanks Douglas, glad to help. Let me know if you have any questions. The 895 would be a fantastic river boat. Let me know how you go.

    Always interesting videos! Thank you! 💙
    Here in Croatia, the costs are pretty the same. The wet dock for MF would be around 6-7000 €, depending on marina.

    Don’t forget the genset costs too. Allocate $1000 a year for servicing And another $1000 for the inevitable when things break.

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  Před měsícem

      No Genset for us, so a little saving there, I think put $5000 aside for breakage. Might need all of it every year but one year you will need more!!

    Yeah !!! Are these the same costs like in the EU ?

      I'm not too sure, the running costs would be similar but no idea about rego and insurance.

    If you dont own the dock thats around 7000-10000$ per year to add. You should also factor in depreciation of engines and electronics. Say in 10 years you gonna get new engines and new electronics. That might be another 50000$ you need to divide by 10 years and have 5000$ aside every year accumulating. Hull repair , trailer repair if you have trailer , upholstery repair and replacement, anchor winch etc you need to be having depreciation schedule or just put another 5% of the cost aside each year. Petrol is usually the lowest part of the expenses

      All good points @adventurehungry, makes the maths on owning a vessel even more daunting!
