JOY AND JUBILATION AS THE NEW CATHOLIC DIOCESE IS INSTALLED AT WOTE- MAKUENI COUNTY

Joy and jubilation for the Catholic faithful as the New Wote Dioces is installed in Makueni County in a ceremony presided by Apostolic Nuncio in Kenya and South Sudan Maria Van Mega.
Bishop Paul Kariuki Njiru designated to head the newly created Diocese of Wote has been handed the leadership of the Diocese after the rites required according to the doctrine of the Catholic church.
The ceremony taking place at Unoa primary school has attracted thousands of faithful and leaders from Ukambani Embu and other neighboring counties.
The journey to install the new Diocese started in earnest on Friday in a special ceremony at Kola Catholic Church grounds, on the border of Machakos and Makueni Counties.
In accordance with the rites and traditions of the Catholic church, the Apostolic Nuncio handed over the Crozier symbolizing the Shepherd of his flock and he was made to sit on a Cathedra symbolizing leadership and pastoral power in the new Diocese.
Cardinal John Njue, Nyeri Archibishop Anthony Muheria, and other Bishops from other Dioceses were also present.
Leaders attending the rare ceremony include Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, lower Eastern Governors Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) Cecil Mbarire(Embu) Julius Malombe (Kitui) Devolution PS Terry Mbaika.
