No body believes it's free, that is why, soon as they realise it is actually free, then they would be fine with it, unless they have some strange belief that they think they earn their own money and don't understand how everything is connected to others giving money for what they offer or do, in which they dependent on others being interested in giving them money, so on some level everyone is dependent on others being willing to give them money. So being self reliant is a little bit unrealistic, unless they live on a farm grow all their own food, make all their own clothes, mine all their own technology, build all their own technology, and so on, you get the point, we're all in it together helping each other out.
“That was an animals entire life.” That cut deep.
Yes, you could see those ladies really stopping and thinking about that for a moment after he said that, and it's most likely something that they haven't normally thought about while eating previous meat based meals. Honestly, most people in general don't stop and think about that while eating meat
Yeah that stopped nearly everyone.....and so it should.
deeper than the knife that kills them
@shaneboxhall It's sad. Even wild animals have to suffer a life of anxiety and fear trying to survive, always having to look over their shoulder every few seconds because someone wants to hurt them, all while we sit in our homes comfortably eating their bodies with not a worry in sight. This is a lovely form of activism. Not only are you highlighting the realities of the meat and dairy industries, but you’re also feeding people who may be homeless. Kudos to you, man, this is wholesome 😊
People have a strong reaction to the baby chicks being ground up alive, I was the same, it was the thing that shocked me the most and made me realize I couldn’t be responsible for contributing to this cruelty. Amazing activism!!
To me all of it looks fucked. Like watching someones throat get slit.
Genuinely, footage of baby chicks being ground alive planted the seeds for me. Was vegetarian for 7 years, returned to eating meat for several years, then saw footage and within 2 months I was vegan. 3 years going strong.
Me too!!!! The footage literally traumatized me. That's what 'woke' me up.

@@MostlyLoveOfMusic so basically you think that Joey should have ate the dead innocent animal because the animals life was taken away from it against its will to be an unnecessary source of food? No. The animal shouldn’t have been murdered in the first place. It’s tragic that he made the mistake, but it was a mistake. By eating the flesh it’s treating the animal like it’s food or a product. Personally l think we need to even get away from the term ‘animal products’, because a living being and their secretions is not a product. If someone murders their cat or child to use the innocent as food, l don’t care if the reason for the murder was food, do not eat the body of the poor being. We’ve got to be morally consistent

When people don't want to watch the footage, it's good to ask them why if they're not willing to change their habits.
@shaneboxhall As is no one morally obligated to not rape, torture or kill you too?
@shaneboxhall So a double standard?
And yes animals are raped and tortured. How do you think they're brought into the world? And what do you think happens to their beaks, tails, balls, horns, ears, kids and etc? They are given tiny amounts of space even in "organic, free range" farms where they can barely move, so what is that if not pure torture? same with gas chambers where they thrash and scream or blunt force trauma to kill their babies or when their babies are ripped away from them upon birth. And those animals are regularly beaten too. Not in all farms but in tons of them.
You'd be bawling your eyes out if you had to go through what they do every second of every day.

@shaneboxhall
You know who really manipulates you? The meat industry, to buy products of unnecessary exploitation and killing.
Which are also killing you.
Animal products aren't healthy.
American governments spend $38 *billion* per year subsidizing meat and dairy, but only 0.04% of that ($17 million) on subsidizing fruits and vegetables.
Despite even the federal governments dietary guidelines urging to eat more fruits and vegetables and less cholesterol-rich foods i.e. meat and dairy/ animal products.
Pull your head outta your a$$
@shaneboxhall
I'm not american, I live in norway. I just used america as an example, but norway subsidizes meat and dairy equally disproportionately
@shaneboxhall
You don't understand what I'm saying - those that are profiting from it are the ones manipulating people AKA consumers to keep doing it *now* when we we no longer need to. We have a choice and alternatives, as well as the knowledge, facts and science to make the decision.
Humans have been fighting and killing each other for ridiculous reasons for x amount of years, does that mean that its the right thing to do and that it should be continued once you realize its unnecessary and avoidable? *No.*
Your appeal to normality or tradition = logical fallacy.
We used to have human slavery too, but then we abolished it. It was never moral while it was legal. Legality or normality does not equal morality.

@shaneboxhall there's a veggie sub which is just sliced vegetables on bread
@@ASMRyouVEGANyet That sounds very boring to me, esp given the selection of veggies they had the last time I was in a Subway. I'd eat that, if I was desperate for something to eat, and couldn't find anything better. But I usually can.
Hungry Jack's (Burger King) have several tasty options, as does Mad Mex, Guzman y Gomez, Zambrero, Spudbar, Dominos Pizza, Lord of the Fries, and lots of others. Then there's plenty of small independent places that serve good vegan food.
I'm certainly not saying that it's hard to find vegan take-away, or that vegan Subway in Australia won't suit some people's taste. But for me, Subway, McDonald's and KFC are black holes that are not worth going into when there are other options. When I can get a vegan meatball sub, a vegan Big Mac or a bucket of Kentucky Fried Compassion, then those places will get some of my money.
@@adultcontent18 the falafel at subway is actually really good ! Not dry like most places !
Happy Birthday mate, great vid! :)
When you give away food and people ask “what’s the catch?”
Tell them THEY are the catch because we want them to try it, and go vegan.
@shaneboxhall duh, I don’t know if you think that’s a GOTCHU moment but DUH. We want people to go vegan. Duh. I don’t know what else to say to you.
@shaneboxhall have the day you deserve, Shane.
@shaneboxhall there’s nothing remotely religious about it, in fact don’t people say it’s their religions that tell them to kill animals? Try harder, Shane.
@shaneboxhall hahah, please tell me how. Because I think it would be nice if more people would go vegan? I also like roller skating, how can you spin that? Hahahahahah. I think it would be cool if more people decided to roller skate. I must be a zealot. Hahahahaha.
Now I think this is a fantastic way to promote vegananism. Although very costly, but a great way to get people actually listening to the information and actually showing them that the food does taste great. Well done.
Instead of throwing it in the bin why not give the sandwich to a homeless person? surely that would of been better.
Would you like to be fed to the homeless? Most vegans fight against the stigma that we consider flesh a food for humans, it objectifies the animals and thats where speciesism originates.
Maybe it could have been fer to cats though... Maybe?
@@chaos98GTVS So you would rather see a homeless person go hungry then give them food that does not match your diet?
And actually yeah, why not feed the sandwich to a stray dog? or would you rather the dog starve to death, you value your belief system more than the well being of an animal?
By throwing the sandwich away rather than giving it to another person, or to an animal, that person / animal will need to get that meal somewhere else, which whether you like it or not will end up causing more potential harm to animals / people and to the environment, which directly goes against the vegan ideology. Your supposed to be doing least amount of harm both to living things and the planet. So you logic is flawed "not giving that food and throwing it away causes less harm and destruction.
Hey got a question for you, do you have a TV at home? ahahha the hardest question ever for Extinction rebellion activists, and to a slighter lesser extent for vegans.
@@3275Dan I haven't got a TV. And in my opinion, normalising veganism and denormalising carnism is always priority as it is a rights violation we do to these animals that's a separate fact from utilitarianism and the Peter Singerlike and that's another angle. I would never give accidentally obtained meat to a homeless person, but I would give it to an obligate carnivore as I have already told you. Even better would be some wild animal.
@@3275Dan if I used your logic you could threaten me that you would eat two meatburgers if I did not eat one instead and the only moral option would be for me to oblige and eat it. That's wrong in so many levels... Tell that to a slave liberator from that time in america, "I'm gonna buy two slaves if you don't buy one..."
You could single handedly disperse a protest with such a logic if you had the money to buy that many.
@@chaos98GTVS My point being with the TV question, mainly a question for environmental activists but also a question to vegans as vegans use environment as 1 of their main arguments, is that almost every single environmental activist and vegan activist talk about least amount of harm to the environment, and certainty the far left group Extinction Rebellion use militant tactics like blocking streets and holding cities hostage to their demands yet they have a TV at home, or an iphone, or a playing console etc, things you do not need and help cause plenty of destruction to the environment, while they stand on the street shouting and screaming at people, and stop people going to work, you know those people who are actually contributing to society while these people most likely do not work and contribute to the society they live in.
Personally I think any far left (or right) wing "activists" who want to use violence or militant tactics such as blocking roads and stopping people go about their day to day business) should be locked up and receive full weight of the law. We all have every right to hold our own beliefs, be they left wing, right wing, religious or non religious, you DO NOT have a right to force your groups beliefs onto people outside your group.
Question, how far do you think veganism activism should go? lets say you spoke to everyone in the country, you told them all the arguments, you showed them all the videos and you still had alot of people say "I don't believe what you believe", what should we do with those people? the people who think differently to you.
Loved the idea 💡
