A beautiful movie about World War 2! This is an important topic for me because I come from Poland which suffered a lot during the war ... We were attacked by the Reich and then betrayed by the Soviet Union! Our nation fought until the fallen ... Practically no one helped us! We fought alone and we also helped other countries! Our pilots fought in the battle of England! And while defending our country against Germany, we defended ourselves despite numerical superiority ... There were forty Germans per one killed Pole ... I hope that the world will not forget about our sacrifice! And I am glad that there are people making this type of film because thanks to this the memory of the entire World War 2 will not disappear!

Poland is one of the toughest countries i know. Not just in ww2, Poland has gone through so much even in the middle ages for god's sake. I mean the winged hussars took on the ottoman empire during its glory age, and poland won. Mad respect for you guys.

Or the KV-2 holding an entire german panzer division, or the KV-1's outside of Leningrad, there are many legends from the great war...and they will never die from history

All war crimes are thrown on the defeated side. This is why millions of German soldiers were accused and ostracized for genocides that they did not even know about before the war was over. In addition, Soviet, American and French war crimes were ignored or covered up. The Wehrmacht and Volkssturm almost did not commit war crimes or did much less than their enemies.The war crimes committed by the Waffen-SS were already committed by the American and red armies. War crimes except the honor guard group of SD Polizei, Feldgendarmerie and Allegemeine-SS belongs to the part. But in general, war crimes were not committed by the army affiliated to Germany, but by the police officers affiliated to Hitler. Every soldier that fights is a hero, but if you lose you will be tomorrow's pigs ... (Sorry for my bad English.)

I have negative views on all sides of this war, it could have been avoided, it didn;t have to come to a military world scale conflict, or the economical war either ging on at the time. But the instigators aren;t anythign new to the world :(

He killed to industrialize.he was both good and bad.Without him,the Soviets would have been in no place to fight a war.He made the army much much stronger and at least armed them.However he also killed millions of people in gulags and concentration camps and such.He also made world class healthcare and good education I think

Memorial day is in a few months! I am staunchly anti-communist but still have tremendous respect for the soviet soldiers in the eastern front. So terrible that American schools gloss over the eastern front.
I thank you & I respect you, not many can put ideaology aside & shed some respect for those who put their lives away for our future. It is a shame by video regardign German sodliers was taken down but it is nice to see someone who has some respect, breath of fresh air ytour comment was to me, let memorial day be a day of rememberance and hratification/thanks to those soldiers of all frotn who gave their lives. There are many speculation, I believe that the Germans saw that the Soviets were going to invade nation by nation much of Europe, like the nations they did to make the USSR. Knowing this the Germans had to stop their nation & German people/allies from following the same fate. THis meant first to gather German people and unite them, which meant the war with Poland to bring back German people lost in Prussia,Danzig (lost after the Treaty of Versailles) and then form a front. Due to economical reasons the longer Hitler waited the worse off he would be for the war with the Soviets, and the Soviets were undergoing militirization and production. So Hitler had to invade as soon as possible, the logner he waited the worse off the Germans would be and the stronger the Soviets would be.

There was a lot of problems with the Soviet Army, but, one could say the learning and adaptation was through blood sweat & loss.
As one Seargant said from his unit in Stalingrad to Berlin, they started as recruits, by the end of it, war war torn veterans unmatched in street warfare.

I can tell you that my great-grandfather fought with the Germans during the 1ww He survived the war and lived until 1960/70, but I'm not sure about that.

Soviet onion was not legends they was in beginning with the Nazis
They signed a non aggression pact, they hated each other, Hitler before signing the Pact had plans to invade and same with Stalin. Staling used the pact for militarization as the USSR was not ready for war with Germany and Hitler used the pact in hopes it would end British war efforts knowing they had no ally to the East and were alone.
I think it's obvious to anyone they were never with the Nazi's in any retrospect aside from a paper deal.
