my guess it would have to be someone solely in it for the looks, married to the brand & in their social bubble owning a merc means something. definitely not in it for the dynamics. because, man.. for the $ who in their right mind would get this over a Cayman GT4, 911, gt350r or some lotus'

I trust the SL 43 to protect me better in a roll over crash in part due to Mercedes history of roll over protection for convertibles but also how the A Pillar is engineered to support its weight and the SL 43 is much lighter. 0-60mph independent test I have seen show the SL 43 equaling and sometimes beating the LC500 Convertible.

I'd say it's for the same customer profile as always. Older customer profile who wants an upmarket cabrio to cruise around in and promote the right image. Bar the original 300SL and derivatives from the 50s and early 60s, it's never been a driver's car or an enthusiast car. Most haven't been great to drive. Owners will rarely rev the thing out and most don't care about engine character, and never have. For the few that have done / do, there have been variants with interesting engines etc. Even the models that have classic appeal aren't actually any good to drive. I was thinking about an early R129 500SL a few years ago. Love the styling, they seem like great value. But there's no getting around the fact that they're shit to drive. Didn't really even like it much as a cruiser.

This vehicle makes no sense. So many flaws; 3,900 lbs, 21 inch wheels, the biggest ugliest center screen to date/flawed ergonomics/hate the vents, valid intrusive nannies because of the weight, odd sound for a sporty luxury sedan, $110,000. The only upsides are that it looks good from the outside, engine is powerful (possible a reliability issue) and it has trick suspension which is negated by weight and computer intervention. I basically summarized your video, but those things matter to me. No clue who this is for, some rich failson I suppose. Absolute incoherent dud of a vehicle.
