i have two compasses one a $450 red light danforth and another cheapy ritchie compass 64.99 have to hook up to a proper battery dont have a whole battery for the system yet and wiring can I hook up these compasses to a big D battery
They're pretty big. A marine navigational chart for coastal waters can be about 3 feet long and 3 feet high. It's really intended to be used on a desk or map table in a wheelhouse. They could be treated to be weather resistant but it wouldn't take long before they'd fall apart. Fortunately GPS units have taken the place of charts for smaller vessels.
