Fallout 3's Achievements Took Me 14 Years

- Fallout 3 is a classic from the 360 era. After looking at it half finished in my library for well over a decade, I finally got around to picking it back up.
This one took a little while.. thank you for watching! - Hry
I feel like I've been waiting longer for you to upload than Spurs fans waiting for a trophy

So, not that long. Haven't seen one in Houston since '95.
bro it’s almost been 30 years wym not that long
@@squirtdemon they literally won one like 10 years ago so no not that long
Fallout 3 and New Vegas were really fun completions when I did them years ago and it’s cool seeing you take this one on.
Thank you!
New Vegas is on my list, how is the completion compared to 3?
@@JForJackPlays Beside the 1 achievement to play the hardcore mode, Vegas isn't too bad, but it certainly is a huge time investment.
The dlcs, aren't bad either (beside the Dead Money one) But from how I got it, the xbox has different lists for these unlike Steam.
@@JForJackPlays i managed to play the whole thing and dlc on survival. Its not impossible just be really careful doing basically anything. Try and get alot of money for the implant to negate damage and crippling. Just become really strong and u should be fine. Remember to only carry and pick up what u need and dont just roll around with companions cause they will die from dumb shit. I cant tell u how many times i lost boone or ed-e from the legion assassins
@@JForJackPlays A few of the cheevos are time consuming, like the gambling related ones and the in-game challenge related ones. Othar than that it is not too bad. I've 100% it last year and had alot of fun.
I've probably put close to between 2k-3k hours into this game since release, it's without a doubt my favorite game of all-time. I loved listening to your experience playing through it all man. great content!!! Gosh, would I would give to experience the feeling of raiding the super-duper mart again for the very first time back in 2008
That is a lot of fallout!
Thank you very much, appreciate it and glad you liked it
@@user-dq3ou4cr5l I would absolutely do that with Fallout 4. No subsequent playthroughs have been anything like that one, when I was still learning the controls and was so bad at shooting that I basically spec-ed into high powered sneak attacks and had to use vats almost constantly!
Going through parking garage next to the Milton hospital completely unaware the first time is one of my all-time favorite moments of any game I've played!
I remember my friend in middle introduced me to Fallout 3. I remember going behind Megaton where the random event happens and first seeing the deathclaw for the first time. Scared the shit outta me 😂
Currently playing fallout 3 right now again and it’s just as good as I remember from back then. Im only missing those different karma states achievements the the certain level intervals also. But just playing the game and having fun.
Honestly, the lower the level you are when you go to Point Lookout the better. The enemies level with you and are MUCH easier before level 8
I should have done that then oops!
It wasn't too bad though once I struggled through the first quest
@@JForJackPlays If i recall completely, the issue is due to how the dlc works, most tribal and swampfolk ignore DR no matter what it is, the other problem is a problem in both point lookout and Broken steel, Tri laser beams in BS, and the Axes in Point lookout will all do a bonus 35 flat hp dmg ontop of their normal dmg per hit
Yeah I remember doing point lookout at the end of the game and it was a complete pain in the ass
@@TCIvy77Yup, can back that up. The swamp folk become massive bullet sponges, they become way more difficult than Super mutants.
This is my favourite game ever. I have got all the achievements several times on 360 and platinumed it on ps3. I reckon I’ve completed the game easy 20 times at least.
Fallout 3 was the first game I played on ps3 (only had Xbox consoles) and was so invested in the game it was my first and only game I platinum trophied.
One the best games i've ever played. I enjoyed gathering the achievements three times over.
wow three times, I think once is enough for me!
it was fun though yes
@@JForJackPlays It's a nostalgia thing at this point.
Playing the Anchorage DLC first, doing the Gary 23 exploit will set the player up for the entire game in such a crazy way, best weapons and armor in the game because they don't break and infinite ammo. Wow.
Fiun fact. Fawks is actually completely immune to radiation since he's a mutant.
18:20 I've played the story multiple times. This is one of my favorite games of all time, and I can't believe I never noticed Autumn inject himself. I always figured he was a clone or something. You really do learn something new everyday
haha glad I could show you!
Great Work this Episode! Love this Game. And a year or 2 back I finally 100% FO3, FNV, F4, an Skyrim. Great Game. Great Video.
thanks a lot, it took a while this one.
nice work on all your completions and glad you liked the vid!
Fallout 3 was really fun to get all of the achievements. I did it on 360 back in 2010 and again with the GFWL version in 2013. I also have the game on PS3, maybe I'll get around to playing it again someday
I keep coming back to this video becuase its such a good game and your a good youtuber for achievement hunting I CANT STOP MYSELF WATCHING THIS VIDEO FULLY AGAIN AND AGAIN
Ay thank you sir! glad you like it
there was an exploit that would allow you to bring all the equipment you got in the Operation Anchorage simulation back into the "real world". All you had to do was drag the gary body into the pod with you, and while the game is transitioning out of the simulation, you try to access the gary as an external container, and dump all your items into him. the bonus to this is that you basically get infinitely durable armor and weapons that you can't get anywhere else.
I’m a simple man. I see a fallout 3 video, I click.
Ha, thank you!
Hope you enjoyed it
I got the trophy for leaving the vault in 2009 and the next one 13 years later after returning to platinum the game 👴🏻 so glad I gave it another chance
Yes fallout 3 my childhood game
Great to see an other achievement video from you! Dont worry about feeling back for waiting 14 years to get the rest, im personally still needing 1 more achievment and thats to create all the custom weapons... i should get onto sorting that out haha
thank you!
got some more on the go currently and lots more planned
29:48 absolutely no one:
Fawkes: "LEEEEEERRRROOOOYYYYY JENNNNNKINNNZZZZ"
For those who don't know, the primary reason for clearing Operation: Anchorage as quickly as possible is due to the Chinese Stealth Armor. Crouching with this will give you the equivalent of a stealth boy, letting you crouch walk invisible through most of the game if you choose. It's great for getting stealth first hits, stealing, and just avoiding a lot of nonsense.
Just started playing New Vegas on the 360. I got the platinum on 3 10 years ago!
Nice! Yeah I never put much time into NV back in the day but I would like to tackle it some time soon
I had bad karma so fawkes left to the museum. Then 2 minutes later I get the pop up “fawkes has died”
Rip fawkes
my nostalgic heart just melted. Amazing video. As a great man once said: Made me happy, made me smile
thank you very much, much appreciated!
glad you enjoyed it
“I snuck my way in” as he crouch-walks 10ft away from an on-fire and screaming Fawkes lmao
😂 he was the perfect distraction
Love me some jfofjack uploading some fallout 3 kudos
thanks, hope you liked it!
This is still my favorite video of yours. Would love to see you do TESIV Oblivion!
Glad you like it!
Ah Oblivion has been on my mind for a little while now.. might have to start it soon.
It's on the list for sure!
Good video bro, if you ever replay the game, set int to 9 from start, straight cut to rivet city (following the river swimming is a safe route but you can get some helpful items/fast travel spots)after leaving vault 101 to get get bobblehead to max it (more xp for the entire journey)
All the random characters in between the random words on terminals are what’s part of the little puzzles😊 they reset your tries and eliminate duds
If you decide to go to The Jefferson Memorial before you talk to Dr. Li in Rivet City & start Scientific Pursuits YOU WILL NOT GET THE TROPHY i had to learn that the hard way it's ok i can always go back since it'll only take me 5 to 6 hours
It was frustrating back in the day that PS3 got the DLC's a year after Xbox and PC. I loved Fallout 3 so much when it first released but I've literally never gone back to play through the game with the DLC. I own the GOTY edition on Steam so this video has made me wanna finally revisit the game!
Fawkes is the absolute GOAT
Love your videos, thank you a lot
thank you for watching! glad you enjoy them
Loving the vids channel gonna blow up some day soon 💯
nice of you to say! thank you very much,
got many more planned so will keep getting them done!
At the VERY beginning of the game you can get the best armor using the Operation Anchorage DLC. It gives you power armor that cannot degrade. In order to use power armor you need to get training that isn’t available until later in game. BUT, you can do a glitch that lets you do it at the start of the game.
After that you get best armor before any story quest lol
EDIT: just remembered that you actually get the power armor training perk for free after completing the Operation Anchorage DLC
I have learnt a lot from these comments haha, maybe I'll have to do another run some day and put it all to use
thank you!
@@JForJackPlays no problem. Btw, love your videos!
Great video, proper enjoyed this
wow, thank you very much for the kind words!
appreciate it and got many more planned
God, I wish the Steam version of Fallout 3 had achievements. Easily one of my favorite games ever to complete all the achievements. Must have done it like 5 times.
Yeah a few people have mentioned the lack of steam achievements! Shame that
@@JForJackPlays The version sold on steam for a long time had GFWL achievements until they patched out the xlive.dll files that activates the GFWL DRM/interface.
Hey man, thanks for inspiring me to play and Platinum Trophy the game for the first time. Would love to see you try New Vegas!
This is one of my favorite games of all time.
So glad I decided to 100% fallout 3 love the vid great content man
Congrats on the 100%!
And thank you very much, glad you enjoyed
23:08 lol weeeeeeeeee
14 years?! It took me only one.
just collect a ton of purified water and give to the bums in front of megaton or rivet city. with these two you can switch from very bad to a very good carma in an instant.
This game looks really fun. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching
Same lol. I also did new Vegas and me and a buddy from work and finally giving fallout 76 a go. 4 years after I bought the tricentennial edition
I need to give New Vegas another go!
Apparently I've completed it back in the day.. but I absolutely do not remember doing that.
Still plenty of achievements left to get!
29:20 These ghouls aren't just tough, they've hacked the matrix and can dodge in bullet time!
Fun fact fawkes has a unique super sledge only way to get it is to trade with him at vault 87
Great video!
thank you very much!
Great video J4
I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you :)
Loved the game when I was younger. The only issue I had was, that I was playing the pc version, and it crashed soo damn often back then.
thank you! glad you liked it.. it took a while to get done.
Yeah i've heard the pc version does have problems, I played it for about 10 minutes many many years ago so maybe one day i'll go back to get all the achievements again!
Ima loot adict so when ever id fight the enclave id alwae get torn apart at not being able to make it out with all their wxpencive tech to sell
Yeah I found myself having to leave so much stuff. Definitely didn't make the most of everything I could sell/salvage
It took me until fallout 4 to realize there is a mini game in the hacking sections and that's looking for the () {} brackets and they can remove words or reset your tries.. I'm supprised it never brings it up.
another amazing video! could you do Prototype 2 soon?
thanks a lot for the kind words!
Yeah, I've never played it but heard it is much easier than the first.. I'll try pick it up soon and get to work on it.
Got a few other games on the go currently :)
@@JForJackPlays great to hear, found your channel of the back of that prototype 1 video and I've been enjoying all your uploads
I've actually gotten all achievements for Fallout 3 on 360, first started playing in 2012 and never really stopped playing
I still have Fallout New Vegas to do but I had a blast 100%-ing this game and others in the fallout franchise! I remember the first time I ever played it as a kid and I sucked at it because Call of Duty was literally my only frame of reference for gun play. That and I got the sheriff of megaton shot because of my choices and was a kid so save scumming was an alien concept to me to I got sad never to pay it till years later. Good Times!
I feel fiendish in the way I consume content about my favorite mind numbing tingz
Fawkes is actually not invincible. He has a stupid amount of hp, yes, but it IS possible to get the companion death message for him, ESPECIALLY when you start to factor in some of the pathing bugs that vanilla Fallout 3 is prone to. I wish I'd had a capture card and a computer back in the day to record it, but I've actually had Fawkes die on me before, which is how I know this
Now I need to go back and play some Fallout 3. Still have it installed on Steam.
would be rude not to then
Breathe the fresh air.
This and New Vegas were some of my earliest plats. They're pretty easy, but time-consuming as fuck.
These videos are great
Thank you very much, appreciate it!
And glad to hear it cause they take a while to make 😂
Got lots more planned including some very big ones
Int on 9 and run straight for rivet city for the Int bubble head became my go to strat for max points per level up xD
You forgot to grab the Tesla cannon
Last year was the first time I 100% FO3. Nowadays, with a brand-new gaming rig and an ultrawide monitor, it's the first game I'm playing, though I have The Witcher 3/Cyberpunk/etc. on deck, and this is the first playthough with FOSE and Fellout only, with a couple of ease-of-play mods like making the traders unkillable.
Nothing like playing old games on an incredible overkill machine 😂
I've seen how crazy Skyrim can look with all the mods, not seen much about FO3 though!
I still need to go through the game 2 more times 😅
better get going then!
Nice I remember getting this trophy on launch
Save before you level up to 14, 20, 30. Go to Rivet City, donate to the church. Good karma. Right out of the vault, i was always wickedly evil for stealing all of the junk in that woman's home Moriaty tells you to go to.
Yeah someone else mentioned donating.. Never knew about it but i am a massive Fallout noob.
Although not sure I had enough caps to gain much karma. who knows
the steel ingots trophy took me at least 1 day to get it on the pitt ps3 before getting the platinum trophy of fo3
Enslaving someone is -100 karma buy pays 250 caps which you can donate for positive karma and enslave your way to sainthood lol
I absolutely love this game
Raising karma to the highest only takes five seconds. All you have to do is donate like 10000 caps to the church in Rivet city.
didn't know that!
I no longer have access to the dlc but I’m pre sure dlc trophy’s are not required lmk if I’m wrong I’m also going for this through right now currently just need to hack 50 terminals so hopefully I can get my plat after that
Yeah plat just requires the base trophies!
Them trains are heavy I get why you broke a leg
Favorite game of all time, and my first platinum trophy on PS3
nice! you got many other platinums?
@@JForJackPlays I have 8 in total, including one for Fallout 76 ha
Fallout 3 is the best. I liked the environment and characters a lot more than New Vegas. I remember when I rented it on ps3 and was glued to it for the week. I bought it when I got a 360 and got all the achievements just like I did with Oblivion
This is the only game ive ever platinumed. Good times.
the mothership zeta as before accessing to the dlc it is advised to finish the base game story first before accessing to it as accessing earlier will have serious consequences on a low level character at least on point lookout dlc wear the t51b power armor winterized version instead before entering on it
one of my favorite games i had and i got the platinum trophy the day after my 18th birthday
Hes back!
It took me one year for all dlc and non dlc achievements
Fallout 3's acheivements seem overwhelming at first, but they're actually not bad at all (aside form the karma ones).
agreed
Dude you should definitely do the Arkham trilogy, i gave up on the riddler challenges for city ahah
Definitely plan on checking those out
@@JForJackPlays sick you definitely should, been bingeing all your achievements videos mate they are so fun ahah keep it up mate
I couldn't ever complete the list on 360, because i only had the 4gb slim and the trophies for the dlc had came up... i cant ever go to the pitt lmao.
It's backwards compatible and has cloud save! You can pick up where you left off and finish it now if you have a newer console 😎
It's much easier to just use a terminal you don't own to lower your karma. You can also just donate to the child of atom to raise it.
I just got the platinum for bloodborne. I got it when it came out. Also got the fallout 4 plat. Last month, definitely took a long ass time for the benevolent leader lol
I've never played BB and I only did a little bit of FO4 at release. Definitely a game I'll be returning to in the future
The outcasts don't attack provided you don't take everything from the armoury iirc
Guess I was being too greedy!
I just completed this about a month ago what a coincidence.
I need to 100% Fallout 4
I've barely played f4. Will get to that one day 🤣
You got it though!!
It took me a summer when I was 13
Ive done fallout 3 cuz of you aswell as bully
when i played this i followed a walkthrough it was long and painful too hours and hours
This video is rad
Thank you very much! (Not sure if the 'rad' is a fallout pun)
Will we get an achievement video on Fallout New Vegas?
Probably not any time soon but it's definitely on my list to get done!
Got lots of other bits I want to complete first
I got bad dreams after I faced ghouls in fallout 3 for the first time. They scared the crap out of me. 😆😂
I still get a bit creeped out when I'm trying to sneak through some sewers haha.
Although once I had fawkes with me it was all good 😂
I have beaten this game maybe 5-9 times since it released and I still don’t have all the achievements especially the karma ones (bad) I always say imma be bad this play through only to go out and do good things and only steal what I need 😂 tbh I never thought about making 2 separate saves for karma, but I haven’t played 3 since like 2014. Oh the first bobble head isn’t missable, you can go back there when you get a certain quest (think it’s a side quest) and as far as I’m aware it’s laid on the floor in the same room. But yes if you destroy megaton then you do lose that bobble head which will lock you out till new character. Although I am locked out one achievement which made me stop getting 100% which that’s all the ingots and one on the roof is glitched out for as I approach it I instantly fall through the map. I have made 3 separate characters and unfortunately it happens on all 3, it’s the same ingot it’s like it’s on a floating platform with a false flooring around it.
Yeah you do get a chance to go back to vault 101 in a side quest, but if you leave without grabbing it in that you're locked out again. I think.
That sucks about the glitched ingot! super annoying
It's actually easier to raise your karma considering you can make donations to churches and/or gift water to the beggars outside Megaton, Rivet City and Tenpenny Tower.
Why do people not know about the bracket sets for hacking in fallout games by now it's a staple since fallout 3?
Very true.
You can probably tell but I am a big fallout noob, and although I did know that... I completely forgot oops
Ah fallout 3 the only game I ever shoplifted.

@@JForJackPlays no, I am not a fan at all of these half-finished, buggy tech demos that only downgrade each time they come out.
I have literally never liked these games, disliked every single video about them that was ever recommended to me, yet somehow this coal still ends up in my recommended section in even larger quantities.
