A baby elephant rescued by wildlife officers !

- This incident was reported from Moragahakanda area. This baby elephant was fallen in to a well. A team of wildlife officers had to struggle to keep the mother elephant away from the well as it refused to stay away from the baby. However the wildlife officers managed to rescue the baby elephant from the well and allowed him to go back to his mother.
Very good efforts by the forest officers ! The baby elephant stood for a while and thanked ! Sense of gratitude in animals is natural !
Oh I am so happy that the baby got out and reunited with his mom!

It was almost like the mother was thanking them for rescuing her baby as she stood there calmly looking back at them. So happy to see mom and baby reunited. Thanks to the caring people that made that possible

Did anyone notice that, half way through the video, the baby was in panic. Then it realized that a path was being dug for it and even started to help with the removing of earth. That's quite smart for any baby.

They are really smart animals. One elephant recognized his trainer after some 30 years being separated. They are as smart as dolphins and dolphins are known to be quite intelligent. CZcams the elephant that can draw. This adult elephants favorite thing to do is paint and holds a paintbrush with his nose and draws very softly prefect precise pictures that a grown 12 or 13 year old child would draw. Not just scribble drawings. It’s incredible. Imagine what a dolphin can do given arms and paintbrush. Also CZcams the video of the dolphin using a mirror to look at a part of his back he’s never seen before.
And then when it got up he stopped, looked at the camera and waited for an applause - unfortunately they didn't realize this but it could have been a historical moment.

The baby looked at people who helped him, he seemed saying thank you to them. The mother also did the same. Wonderful!

Well, elephants can not look good, they are very short-sighted. For sure from that distance the mother can NOT see the helping men. It is pure coincidence that she is standing like facing the people. From that distance even elephants can not see each other. But they can hear very well, specially very low tones. I don't know if sometimes they can smell each other. But in this case all the typical smell will be washed off by all the water from the elephant child.
@@sweetgirlsoles Elephants have a highly developed olfactory system. It allows them to find water deep underground. That's why water pipes are frequently being dug up by elephants in Africa.

It appeared to me that they felt Gratitude before moving on.

Yesterday I saw a video about elephants and dogs that faced cruelty from some people. I have been in great anguish .. This video helped me know there are good people still around who really love, care and rescue these loving animals. They deserve our love and care .. such a gentle giants..
These ppl wouldn’t dig these hole intentionally they would never need to make these videos ! I’m shocked how ignorant all you fools are to praise these scum bags when it’s so obvious this is an intentional trap along with SOOOO MANY OTHER OF THE VIDEOS continently in the same area for the same content makers . Open your fing eyes my god .
It was a very good and fantastic job to save an animal from such a danger,after being rescued the baby elephant's silence and stand still towards the rescuers must say " Thank you men very very much" . His silence must show his gratefulness towards them. Afterwards his mother too thanked them in the same manner......thank you men for this awesome job🙏🤝👌❤️
They are actually pretty good climbers for their size. The elephant did a great job climbing out.
I would have grabbed on to his trunk and pulled him out.
@@jshanker2005They're a lot heavier than they look. You'd need a rope (or more likely a chain and some padding) and a truck to lift that thing out.
@Suzanna Kiraly, You're right. I had seen a video of an elephant climbing a nearly 45-degree embankment with ease. It seemed to defy gravity. They are also very strong swimmers.

That was a touching moment when he got out he turned and looked at them as if to say...... thank you!!
That little elephant was smart enough to know that what the humans were doing were helping it. I once saw a baby elephant at a zoo trying to climb over a short concrete barrier. Again and again it could get its front legs up on top of the barrier, but then it couldn't get its back legs up. So after many tries, it turned around and tried to get its back legs up first.

Yes, good job. I probably would have jumped in with it, once I noticed it knew people was helping like it did, and started making stairs from bottom up. At the end you could tell it was thankful and didn't want the people to be afraid of it.

The long stare at the people when the baby elephant got rescued is that he tries to remember everyone's face who was there to dig him that path out the pit.
The elephants are known to have the photographic memories. I never thought about that.
It is interesting how it stays to assess the situation. It shows how intelligent elephants are. A lot of animals just run off after being rescued.
The baby-elephant was intelligent enough to know that he should try to climb just where they had been digging. I hope the rescuers meet him again one day, maybe he will remember them.
That elephant in the well knew they were there to help. He started digging too!

This scenario is pretty common with elephants and baby elephants. Interesting to see how the rest of the clan rally around to help the baby elephant out of the water most of the time when the wildlife rescuers aren't there. Goes to show how much the rest of the clan care when the little one is in trouble or being given birth to.
Idk this may have been a different sceen if these were African Elephants..Aisian Elephants seem to be more calm and tolerable twords humans..But then again,they are so smart,any momma elephant would probably realize that the humans are just trying to help and not hurt.Bless all of these beautiful, majestic animals..And I bet that the baby won't try that again.

I am so glad the baby and mother was reunited. I am afraid that one day if it happens again that they don't scare off the mother while they rescue another little one and the mother never comes back because it was scared at the humans who was scaring the mother off. I pray it never happens but you never know one day it could happen. I know the mother was big I wouldn't scare off the mother just in case that the mother doesn't come back. Anyway thank you for saving the baby and reunited the baby and mother again. God bless you all
