With Holmes, it starts with a hit, followed by a walk. When I see that, I know it is over. Several times this season, the defense has saved him. He should have at least eleven blown saves. Aside from his inability to miss bats, he crumbles under the pressure he creates. He isn't built for the closer role.

Essentially Holmes is almost guaranteed to give up any inherited runners. This includes going into extras with the ghost runner, which basically takes him out of the mix to be used in that situation. 269 average against is a terrible stat even for starters!
