One day, I was putting on new guitar strings. While breaking them in, I would play folk chords, constantly adjusting the strings because they were brand new. Finally, it seemed like my guitar was staying in tune. I improvised that bunch of chords you hear at the beginning on this song, and thought, "wow! This sounds like a great riff! I think I'll make a song out of this!" So I did. Went over to Gerry's and played it for him. He said, "Nice song, but the lyrics suck." So I said, "Ok, YOU write the lyrics." So he did. Then Matt came up with that great counter-point guitar riff. Then I added that sitarish raga riff at the end of the song.
