You have helped me so much. I'm military and my soldier's broke. And we put one on the kidpopping off. Come to find out I was putting it on wrong. Put it on right and now he has no issues. We bought it O'reilly's and if it perfectly.
Put a 9/16 socket on the side the bushing pushes into between the c clamp. it will give the bushing somewhere to go. the side of the plier itself was keeping it from seating all the way
GM should've just made it a bolt on in the first place. IDK WHY they do stupid cheap engineering that is bound to fail like this here. I just replace my second bushing - added a zip tie this time.
Man, I just put one on yesterday and that little plastic thing was very hard to get on. I hope I don't never have to deal with that again or that shift interlock solenoid both a pain in the assto put on
So what’s the part number for the bushing kit you ended up using? Oreily sold me the wrong one I had the same issue. Was it a doorman universal kit you ended up using?

My God, Absolutely Confusing!!! You installed a incorrect part, then added a new part & gave absolutely NO information about it!! 🤨 Way to lead people into deep water who can't swim!!! 👍👍
Sorry for the inconvenience And yes I did install a part that didn’t work for me but wasn’t incorrect as you can see on these comments someone else had a different way of working with the bushing that didn’t work for me and the bushing that I did use that has not given me issues since replaced was installed the same way as the first one just a little easier But as always thank you for your feedback I appreciate your view and comment

I bought the part and it’s working so far thanks
I’m glad to hear
Thank you for view and feedback
Always keep a extra one in the truck becus they’re very common breaking. Some last for months or 1 year. Just keep a extra one in the truck so safety
@@romerooo3212 yes thank you for the advice
Thanks for the video I just did this on my Chevy Tahoe 2011 👍

Which one worked on the tahoe 14041 or 14073?
@@MrGP0490 14073
@@MrGP0490 the second bushing I used 14073 worked and has not given me any issues so far
That part doesn't fit 2007 tahoe and nothing at oreillys Dorman wise worked that sad for gm. I just bolted it
Sorry to hear
Hopefully whatever you did to yours works out for you

@@LHollisIIIhow's that holding up? Or did you find another solution?
Pretty sure that was the wrong bushing kit. I needed Dorman 14104 and my setup looks exactly the same.
The first bushing I used I could not get to work but the second bushing brand Dorman part number 14073 has not given me any issues since replaced

Second bushing used

I just put on the first bushing for the third time in a year and a half, seems to come off at the worst possible place

How did you remove the first bushing? The one that you installed first?
With pliers but it really wasn’t on that tight
@@corvettesummer400 thank you
Got a link for the second bushing?
Brand- Dorman
Part number- 14073
Location of purchase- O’Reilly’s auto parts
Description - shift linkage cable
Warm up the bushing before installing to make it easier to install. You didn't get it seated properly
Niccceeeee thank you for the feedback.
The second bushing used was just right and hasn’t given me any issues since replaced.
Just did this what a nightmare
I agree lol
It was really the part when I got off work and my Tahoe wouldn’t shift into gear
How did u install the white one.
The white one was a perfect fit for my make and model
How did get the old bushing out I need to know so I can put in a new one
The old bushing came out itself. They eventually dry rod and break off.
So I bought a bushing to replace it
@@corvettesummer400 mine is still in any ideas how to get the old bushing out
Probably with a small pic and hammer gently hammering it out
With a pick or flat head screwdriver its a stiff rubber.
Will this work for a 2012 Silverado 1500?
I do think the one that I used could work on your truck but I have seen a different one used on your model truck
Yes it does use the smallest one. Use a face clamp to compress. Then use vice grips to attach on.
Thanks guys I got it fixed
Niccceeeee!
I have same issue but withmy equinox 2012
Its pretty much the same process if it is the bushing that needs replacing
