- Abbott held his first Beryl news conference July 14, after returning from an economic trip to Asia. Hurricane Beryl hit Houston July 8, 2024.
Imagine a state that can’t keep something so simple as electricity on in the winter, or after a minimal tropical storm.
ERCOT is responsible. Who chose the people for ERCOT. Gov Hot Wheels. He is ultimately responsble for the lack of power in Houston.
He's ALMOST worse than Dan Crenshaw.
Imagine if that was a Cat 4 or 5 Houston would have really been F'D!
The Governor is a week late.
He needs Federal investigations, where all the taxable money is? The state is a mess.

The state KNEW the grid was failing in 2011. The message is TOO LITTLE TOO LATE! It's not just CenterPoints' fault!! Take some freaking responsibility already!
Centerpoint is a "for profit" corporation and is responsible for all line maintenance issues. Records show that Centerpoint has paid next to nothing recently for foliage and tree maintenance. Now Centerpoint is blaming the problem on tree damage. This was never the State's job. Centerpoint saved money and people died. We don't need you political types trying to muddy the waters. We need Centerpoint to take it's responsibility seriously.

Grids are infrastructure. Build a grid instead of rocks for pot holes.
That would stop the monopolization of power companies. Surrounding states including their state need to study how they can increase the water sources too if possible so they have equal distribution instead of concerning low levels of water. Mexico is using the water too in some states.
You need to go back where you have been and the lack of power is because you have been missing in action and now after the work is almost over, you want to come in and take the credit for everything.

Might I suggest, Governor Abbott, that government agencies. law enforcement, disaster agencies and all major utility companies have a contact within NOAA, if possible, in order to maintain a more accurate idea, as far ahead in advance, of any tropical or hurricane activity in the gulf and earlier. Might I also suggest that, for whatever mathematical reason, particular attention be payed to the FOX Weather forecast cone. Situations like these are why the people at NOAA and other meteorological positions ultimately do what they do. They don't do it for fun.
The true issue in the matter of Centerpoint failures is an intergration of several commissions to run various different industries. If, Texas isn’t show ponying their intervention then the elected officials should
