Justin key tip for shelters is don’t make it to big make it just big enough for you, also put the blankets in the inside not the out, it will circulate more heat because there are no sticks or pine needles to interfere. 👍

This would actually be really fun, go buy all the little camping gadgets you could get and try and live as civilized as possible, like cooking a full meal with a pocket stove and stuff, just using the small camping items to try and live comfortably on a camping trip..

I lost count, but it was fun watching you guys! You all honestly brought laughter and happiness into me and my brother, so you basically accomplished " Laugh Daily". Ok, so, I have a funny video challenge idea, I don't know if you guys take comment requests, but I have one anyways. So, I do ballet for five and half hours a week, three times a week, so, my challenge is, is that you guys have to do a a ballet class for a full week, like three of them in one week, just like I do, and anyways I'm 12, so it's NOT that hard. I really hope you guys will do it, but if you did, you'd need to go all out, tights, the white shirts, hair in a bun, lol, and ballet shoes, NOT pointe shoes, you will kill yourself if you wear pointe shoes.

Hammock=really bad idea. You don't get the heat from the ground, and instead get attacked by the cold and wind the whole time. That's why bridges freeze faster than roads; the air underneath it is far colder than the ground, which is always warmer than the air due to it's ability to retain heat. But, I love your guys' vids and keep up the great work.
Hammocks can work if you have the right setup, but yeah if you don’t know what you are doing, I would not recommend using a hammock.
@@Minecreep313 I agree. Samuel was probably using it as a secondary shelter since he already had a tent, and they didn't sleep overnight, so it didn't really matter anyways.
Samual is full of surprises. He knows how to do so many things and he had a better campsite and shelter than they did.

I don't know why they made up numbers to measure how cold it is based on how long it takes to get a frost bite.
As someone that lives in a place where it gets extremely cold every year, you can actually figure out what temperature it is when watching a winter video. At the beginning the temperature is clearly around -2C/28F, -5C/23F at the most
"FROSTBIE WILL HAPPEN IN 10 MINUTES"
No they won't, at that temperature, you're going to suffer form hypothermia way before you get any frost bite. You need to go to like -20C/-4F before you need to start worrying about frostbite. Even then, at -20C/-4F with no clothes, the thing you need to worry about is not frostbite, its death. You can keep your extremities warm enough to avoid frost bite for a while and still get your core temperature low enough to collapse before frost bite happen.
I love how Samuel is saying what not to do it just goes to Caleb doing what Samuel is saying what not to do.

That would be the easiest challenge ever for me because i live in finland and that is actually very normal winter temperature here. 😀 Most of you are doing this wrong. Moving generates heat so you want to move(walk, dance something like that) . 🙂

you know, i'd love to see you guys do a reaction video. Reacting to an episode 1 and 2 of a game show, "Alone"...
Contestants get some base items, like clothing... then have to choose 10-14 items. Items like, tarp, paracord, knife, axe, saw, food... etc... And then they are separated by miles, and left alone to survive. not for a day... not for a week.. oh no... This is a last person standing challenge. Surviving alone for MONTHS. You have a radio to tap out, and camera gear to film whats happening... as well as an emergancy beacon.
People have tapped out because of bears invading their camp, starvation, serious weight loss and low BMI, axe injuries, fall injuries. Then to add to the fun, they don't leave them in nice safe friendly area's like mid florida... Oh no... they choose fun area's like northern Vancover island, Great Slave Lake, Nunatsiavut, where the temps can drop to -40 in the winter... Or just to switch things up and be nice... northern Mongolia, Southern Chili just to make sure it gets cold.
These people often don't build simple shelters.... oh no, some of them go as far as full cabins with fireplaces.
best way to do this is organization. ex: one person gets shelter and supplies, one person gets clothing and blankets and one person gets food+water, some sort of grill, and the final necessities

I've been snow-cave camping 3 tines, and I related to most of what happened in this video. It's all fun and games during the day while digging the caves, but once night begins to set, it gets pretty dangerous pretty fast.
P.O.V: You're Canadian and this temperature is considered nice out. (and you knew exactly how to handle the weather and start a fire and everything better than adults)
