Thanks for the vid. I just got one of the 2nd gens for the bedroom. Really impressed so far with how easy the setup is (auto focus and keystone is woww) and overall a great design. Fairly quiet too. I only plan to use it later in the day to watch CZcams/podcasts or a movie before sleep so for brightness that's ample for me. Looking forward to trying it for game streaming from my pc too although I haven't worked out how to do that yet. If Samsung brought out a 4k pro/ultra model at a higher cost and double the lumens they could really do well. Gone would be the days of big box projectors and finnicky setups.
I'm glad to hear that it's working well for you and thank you for the comment. I would say that streaming from your PC can be done through smart view and mirroring but would suggest wired connection HDMI to Mico HDMI to ensure a stable connection. It has the ability to stream directly from the projector which is a big plus but at times it lags. Please let me know how you get on 👍🏽
@@ramz101 Thanks for that. I've just lended this projector to a friend and I bought the LG Qube projector. I've only had it for a couple days but I can say that the picture quality is absolutely stunning in comparison to the Samsung. I prefer the inbuilt software of the Freestyle, remote and it's also a bit quieter but apart from that the LG has jaw dropping image quality - at double the cost though! I just wasn't happy with gaming on the Freestyle but the LG handles that well. Both these projectors need a light controlled room and not that's likely not ideal during the day although the LG seems to do a bit better on it's bright modes.
@isacare360 selective hearing lol it's my bad still messed the video up and only realised it through the comments. Happy to announce the fire alarm has new batteries now 😊
You need a mini hdmi to usb or type c depending on your on your hard drive connection and that should allow to use it as I input. The hard drive will need a power source as I don't think it will power get through it, I will check this out and order a cable and give you some feedback. It should in theory work without an Internet connection.
Hi, no the fan is protected but with any device it will collect dust and does need to be cleaned. I haven't had any problems with dust collecting inside the device, the most I would say is that the screen needs to be cleaned regularly. Hope this helps.
@@ramz101 Some projectors are designed in such a way that they cannot be opened and cleaned. I ordered Samsung Freestyle 2, I hope I will not regret it.🙏
@@mambaout2437 yes, I totally agree with you there and it isn't made to open. I use a mini hoover to keep the fan clean every so often and hasn't given me any problems. Let me know how you get on and I'm sure you will be pleased with the performance 👍🏽
They are identical and the only thing that is different with the 2nd Gen is the memory chip and better performance. I will put them side by side and take them out to see if the picture is better and do it side by side.
@@oldafoubik1415 if its not for the gaming I would say gen one. But if your getting 50% off then you might as well go for gen 2 as it will hold better value, stronger processor power and the easier to use.
@@ramz101I count it from official retail price here - 1000 EUR. I get 1.gen for 500EUR, and 2.gen for 600EUR, and i am not sure with additional cost...
@@oldafoubik1415 The gaming aside the plus points if the gen 2 is the better ram which makes the os faster and more responsive, the layout is better and the keystone and focus is more responsive. For a 100 difference I would go for gen 2.
Thanks for the review. Does all the accessories for Gen 1 can be used for Gen 2 as well? Skin, battery pack, projector case, stand etc.,? Please confirm
My pleasure and yes everything fits like a dream. Skin, battery base, stand and everything else that works with gen 1 will work with gen 2. They both are the same size and dimensions and the only real difference is the ram.
