Exactly. Because it have been embedded into us to keep them around no matter what. But the Holy Spirit have been advising me to separate from family as well. Possibly even more so. Because at times family can be more toxic then anyone you have ever came in contact with.

Yeah. When you are telling somebody that you r cutted off family you will always feel the pressure. "She is your mom! Its more precious in the world! You are cruel!" - they said. But when you are teling them what shit she is done, and how cruel all family was - everybody understands.

I cut OFF my Mother's side of the Family except for 1 Cousin and moved to another State 24 hour Drive and 3 hour plane ride away from all those Demons.

Amen sister..I felt the same way when I was struggling trying to change my life to provide for my children, God made me a black woman Carpenter by trade, couldn't get no support and then they tryed to say I just wanted to be a man, I anit goin make it. but GOD and now its 11 years later I'm a Journeyman carpenter. it hasn't been easy but HE did not give up on me and I didnt either..Just keep pushing onward and Our father God can and will give us the strength..God bless you❤🙏

The crab bucket mentality is alive and well. I’ve witnessed so many friends being dragged down by toxic family members while they try to climb out of the bucket. They don’t stop trying to drag down until they are completely 100% blocked and cut off.
Yes it is. It's worse coming from people that you share dna with. I had to finally cut them off after decades of being mistreated, sabotaged, talked about and humiliated. I'm trying to heal emotionally.

Finally, someone who thinks like me. I don't subscribe to "blood is thicker than water". I have said for years blood means nothing to me if you are a toxic person. I have told people, I can't help who I'm kin to, so they can get cut off just like anybody else. I don't have to deal with anyone I don't have to who have those bad spirits. Then people want to say I'm wrong and need more love. You can't brainwash me with your misinterpretation of scripture. For the super saints in the back, being a Christian does mean being a door mat and no, I don't have to like you. Don't like and hate are 2 different things.
When I cut off my family for their toxic negativity I instantly felt like a black sheep. Even from my grandmother who is just as negative as the other generations. But through prayer and God I’m okay with standing alone, my mental health and peace means more to me. ❤

I’ve had my siblings blocked for 7 months now. Now because they feel there lives are going well they want to contact me and be fake nice again only to disrespect me and mistreat me a couple months later. I’m breaking the cycle and wishing them the best.

So I CHOOSE to focus on what makes me happy and what keeps my peace every day. I choose to only allow folks of positive energies into my life. I choose ME.🌻

Now I fully understand why God told Abraham to get thee out from among thy kindred. Some of your family members can be a hindrance to your growth and success with their drama and negativity especially if they only call to dump their problems on you, now you’re tired and spiritually exhausted and half crazy. Really need to exercise wisdom and discernment of the spirit concerning your family, the ones you need to disconnect from or keep your distance. Hate to say it but but some of your family are assigned against you by the devil, anointed of the devil to try and bring you down especially if you don’t fit in. But when you fit in with God and his plans for a better quality of life with a zero tolerance, nothing and no one can bring you down...

You speak the truth. The biggest lesson I've learned with family is that you must set boundaries. And, the same people who use your services will act brand new when the tables turn.
My family is very.toxic and its hard sometimes dealing with them. My relationships ( friends and relationships) mimic my family's dynamic. I struggle so much to this day!!

You don't have to deal with anyone you don't want to. What makes it hard is the attachment to these "friends" and family. You have to create a peace about walking away. What use will you be to others if you are in a mental institution from breaking down from the stress you have been through? I have zero tolerance for toxicity. I have gone to therapy and I am always doing the work that I need to do. I can’t be around people that’ll keep me down just because they have an issue with me or whatever the reason may be. This was much needed. Thank you again and thank your wife as well. @@GoodGrief101 Yes it can take such a mental and emotional toll that one can no longer see a reason to go on. I plan to seek therapy in the coming months. I hoping things get better. My so called friends did not agree with my decision to cut off toxic relatives. So I have no one.

I've tried everything and every way with my mom to have a mother and daughter relationship. She doesn't like peace, I have a brother and sister she keeps mess up between her children. She's very manipulative, lies at the drop of a dime on her children and grandchildren. I'm thirty seven and the oldest and im really considering moving to another state. I keep the peace but she continuously picks, keeps mess up, lie about everything and always negative. Im tired and I want better for me and my children. She's a drainer. I'm the only one who looks just like my dad and I've always been the target. I'm ready to move but I'm a little scared but I'm absolutely ready. She doesn't encourage, speak life, it's nothing positive it's ALWAYS NEGATIVE. I stopped letting my children go around her and myself also. I don't know what else to do & this has been going on since I was a little girl.
Reading your post sounds like the same situation with me and my mother. It's crazy I'm reading this because this is exactly the same scenario of my life. I'm 30 but I have no kids and got a toxic and negative mother who I'm trying to move out of state away from in the next few years just to get away from her bad energy having a**. I look like my dad also and believe she treats me bad because I look like him.

A lot of times we hold family to a higher standard simply because they are our blood. Sometimes the worse people for you are your relatives. It can be parents, siblings, cousins, you name it. My mother and her family caused me a life filled with pain. There were days when I didn't know how I was going to live. I was emotionally drained. Right on time! Currently dealing with some drama in regards to family & it has been going on for a couple years now. I have NO interest in making it up with them as I was blindsided in the process. Mind your business, keep my name out your damn mouth, keep your social/physical distance & we WONT HAVE A DAMN PROBLEM! Refuse to deal with toxic people & narcissists just because we share the same damn DNA. These people need to seek medical attention & need to grow the hell up. You will know when you have an *extra* toxic family member when they give you stress for cutting off another toxic family member. They don't want you to have any kind of peace. That's what you must understand.
I felt this Tony. I am an only child and my parents have always been verbally abusive and domineering. I've never understood why they never liked me. I didn't do anything to them. They undermined my self-esteem and my belief in myself. I eloped with my husband who is from another state and we have a new baby. I can't begin to tell you how bad they made me feel for moving to another state and having their first grandchild away from them. Everytime I visited they guilt-tripped me. After a while I gave in. I asked my husband to let me move back for a year or two with them so they could spend time with the baby and he agreed even though he was not happy about it. Not to my surprise my parents went back to their old selves demeaning me and undermining my parenting with my daughter. I know I'm a good mom. I'm no dirtbag and I don't deserve the way they treat me. I am trying to get closer to God, but I feel the resentment buildup and it gets in the way of me building a relationship with Him. I feel like the enemy is using my parents to put hurt and resentment in my heart so I don't have a pure heart for God and can progress spiritually. I bite my tongue to not offend the Lord by talking back to them but it's so stressful. I'm human and there's only so much I can take. I am thinking about having a frank conversation with my parents next time it happens about going back to live with my husband and cutting them off if they keep mistreating me, especially in front of my daughter. The Bible says to not let the sun set on your anger and reason with your neighbor and I want to reason with them. I hope they listen to me and do better (even though I know they won't) because I can't let the stress keep accumulating and affecting my ability to work towards my goals and concentrate in school so I can get back to work because I have all this built up tension. I'm sick of feeling torn between them and my husband. If they continue I WILL cut them off because I'm sick of listening to the guilt trips, the indirect criticisms. I'm done. I'm not going to let them destroy my marriage to keep me under their thumb and mistreat me.

Thank you sooooo much for this confirmation. I refuse to be my mother punching bag , it’s going on a year since we’ve spoke and it hurts so bad because I miss her. However, what hurts even more are her words that cuts like a knife. In my heart I felt like I was doing the right thing however another part of me was like don’t do your mother like that. Toxic family (or people in general) will drain you of the positive energy that you've established in attempts to quench their thirst for peace. I always return negative energy to sender, deny access, & keep it moving! I'll grant access for you after you have gotten some peace from the Lord or where ever you find your peace from. When you can add to me, I can add to you. ANY relationship that I'm emotionally invested in have to be equally yoked.
My mom stay saying "God gone get you , you suppose to obey your parents " but obeying her is giving her money ,listening to her call me out my name and never apologizing. It's very hard leaving family but this is something I know I must do!!!. She always tell me she don't have to respect me. And I know she's taking her anger out on me! This is so relatable. Crying every time wishing I can just leave ,then she'll come talk to me and act like nothing never happened. Preach !
When you are over 18, it’s about being respectful not obeying 🙄 I have experienced negative comments that are meant to control me and anything I disagree with I firmly state that’s not true. Bottom line maintain your ☮️
Leaving does make a person grow up. Most people agree around you because you are stronger than them or you are strong but with weak spirit and they will kill you... let them go. If they respect themselves and you, they will accept that you doing what you doing and come to realization that they're a mess and need to mature in certain areas period
I don’t let toxic family members pull me in their mess .The money thing that right there . I told them I know God is tired of me bringing this same old mess too him over and over . I don’t listen to complaints , that’s only one side of the story . Hurt people hurt people , but we teach people how to treat us and what they can get away with .

You are 100% correct! I told my mom this just this week. I’m not going to put me and my children in a bad place just to respond to your self inflicted emergency. I am a single mom responsible for myself and them first. I can’t take on her cares right now

Why are friends closer than family? I never understood that. I never argue with my friends the way I do with my sister. She doesn't respect me and acts like I have to accept the way she comes at me. If you come at me crazy my response will be crazier point blank!

I get so tired of hearing people say “but that’s your mom!” Right, and I’m her daughter and the Bible says, “parents do not provoke your children!” The Bible says to also “follow peace!” Closing the door is following peace eliminating toxicity. You are speaking nothing but facts. I cut my mom off so many times and each time she needs me im always there. I don't know how many times i said "this is the last time." Now I have to start my life all over again, all behind coming to my moms rescue. All for her to slap me in the face as usual. You cant change anyone, people have to want to change on their own.
I can relate. I have done this way too much. She ruined my credit and lied to everyone trying to defame my character. I am done this time. I'm moved away and trying to start fresh.

Yes, so thankful you spoke on this subject. I feel the same as you and I now have peace since I got distance. I also got off my blood pressure medicine and a healed heart. I had a heart attack and I was told I could have another one if I didnt get rid of the stress in my life. I will not have another one, This video will bless some people
Thank goodness you have healed yourself and was able to recover from your health issues. I have been listening to health podcasts and they all have said the same thing about how stress could bring on so many health complications. I do believe when you let stress go your body will heal.

I already slip in & out of depression a lot & my mom makes me wants to drop out of schl & give up on life. Thankx you for this . Even tho being a full time school & working full time is extremely stressful I have no choice. 🙏🏾

unfortunately I'm only 15 and have to deal with my toxic family until I'm 18, but I needed this. thank you so much for taking the time to talk about this.
There's WAYS for you to get TF outta there!!! You can easily go to a shelter or a "safe space" location in your area if it doesn't feel right, and if you have no peace in your soul. Go stay with a friend temporarily until you save enough money to get your own place, even if it's a tiny, cheap room or studio.
Remember, mental health and peace in your mind is EXTREMELY important to be able to grow and survive and to MAKE IT in the real world, because the last thing you need is for your family's negativity to disorient you from stressing you out, I mean can you imagine that?
This was exactly what a part of my abusive Foster family ATTEMPTED to do to me when I was in high school.

And a police officer recently told me that by the time you're 14 or 15, you have the legal right to go to your local courthouse and file a motion for a court hearing so that you can ask a judge where you live for permission to move out and go live with other family members who aren't mean to you, or even friends that have adults in the home whom will TREAT you right.
You have your rights to move with any other adult that makes you feel more comfortable and at ease, where you can just relax and be yourself.
I found this out from police to try to discover what my possibilities might be to be able to access my eldest daughter if I ever have the blessing to get in touch with her in the next few years, since she's almost at that age.
I also know that this is factual information, because when I was 14, one of my foster family members passed away so the other family members asked me to choose my own decision of where I wanted to go and whom I wanted to be with in the family after the funeral.
I was 14 when all of this was going on. And so I went with different family members and they took me to court I'm guessing so they could be granted custody over me.

I'm glad you touch this topic for many years I experience toxic family members and the negativity of envy jealous all the above all because I chose to do better for myself. and now you said it. their favorite word is do I think I'am better than them I've learn to reply by saying I choose to do better. Some people refuse to be motivated and criticize you for being. motivated. most people only survival is drama and staying stuck.This is why I'm a loner right today. allergic to drama, most people will drop their drama at your door for you to solve. while they rest. not going to happen here. I be da.. if I give up some of my hours to a individual and I only have 24 hrs. in a day. the devil is a liar and the truth aint in it. I tell them God is the answer not me. toxic is toxic I don't care who it is. my family know it very well how I role. I tell them all I love them from a distance, You don't really hear from family until they need or want something or want you to solve their issues. God is the only answer. negative. don't live here. I can relate. My relatives say the same thing about me thinking I'm better because I chose a different lifestyle. I finally cut them off because the stress was taking a mental and emotional toll on me.
