  • It has been said that no two sisters were ever less alike. One reserved and proper. The other lively and controversial. One the anchor of a commonwealth of nations. The other searching for purpose in life. Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret are among the most photographed women in history. But what of the real women beyond the royal splendour, and cheering crowds - beyond the Crown itself?
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

The Church of England was not created so that Henry could get a divorce. It was created to invest Henry with the power to annul his marriage on the grounds that it was contrary to God's law to take his deceased brother's wife to wed. Divorce remained extremely rare in the Church of England, including among the aristocracy, until well into the modern period.

She is a woman to be greatly admired for her sense of duty and rising to the challenge of being Queen at the young age of 25. She has had to cope with so many scandals within the royal family, and has always maintained a sense of dignity no matter what the situation. I think that Duchess Catherine has many of the same qualities as the Queen, and will one day be the perfect Queen Consort.

I'm 84, so I know I shall never have the pleasure of seeing her in the role of Queen Consort, but I have no doubt that she will undertake and fully fulfill her royal duties in a manner befitting a Queen of England, even if she is not the ruling queen.
I do not understand why Catherine will not be officially Queen of England when all other wives of Kings after Victoria's demise were known as Queens. For instance, King George and Queen Elizabeth were always known as King & Queen, not King And Queen Consort.

Yes, Queen Elizabeth is a good hearted humble, firm and disciplined family Woman. Women can be best leaders, and luckily she was brought up as an ordinary Royal decendant with no expectation of being a Queen until very late in her family's life that he realized that she must groom and train her sothat she ascends to the throne better equipped than him. She didn't marry into power, Power and Authority came to her Father And because of love and respect for his nation he obliged. Perhaps that's what may have caused him to smoke even more regularly. 😁. I also admire Queen Elizabeth as the best Queen ever👏👏👏👌👌🤴🤴🤴💘💘

I have two points / questions:
    1) What's the point of having a Spare if you aren't going to expose the Spare to the same training and education (or at least some of it) that you are giving to the Heir to the Crown, just in case something untimely happens to the Heir (e.g., premature death, abdication, etc.)?
    2) I've watched a few documentaries about Princess Margaret, where they say she didn't have a defined role as the sister to Princess / Queen Elizabeth and therefore had to figure out how to fill her time. The British Monarchy is an institution that's over 1,000 years old, so you would think they would have figured that stuff out by now for all senior members of the Royal Family.
I also read that Princess Diana received no orientation or help when she entered the Royal Family.
Geez, British Royal Family or 'The Firm' (as they are sometimes called), get with it! 🙄There are companies /organizations that are only decades old that have well defined job aids, orientation, and training all their staff! 😃
