The writers murdered yosuke so they could have an outlet for pervert jokes, and I will not rest until they are brought to justice in a court of law.
Could you explain this for me? I looked up the folklore origin of Jiraiya but it didn't mention anything about the character being thirsty like Yosuke is.
So Kanji, who's not even 16 yet by the time of this game, beat up a whole biker gang by himself, just because their noise was keeping his mom up at night. What a Chad...

I love Joe's dad energy and how he dunks on Dojima every chance he gets
Dojima deserved it but it's also sadly a very realistic depiction of a single dad
Watching Joe use Hama over and over again would have been infuriating instead of hilarious unabridged.
Especially since the hands are immune to instant kill, at least if I remember correctly
I still found it infuriating.
i watched through all of it while watching the vods (and some of the lives) and it was so painful to get through oml at least with vods you can skip but still painful lmao

@@JZStudiosonline ..the problem wasn’t the jokes. I’m gay myself and I personally didn’t have any real problems with how most of the characters tease Kanji a bit. The camping trip however is objectively bad. Yosuke is straight up homophobic, and the scene doesn’t even feel like it’s supposed to be comedic (contrary to persona 5, where while offensive was clearly meant to be a joke). The scene feels really awkward and doesn’t really serve a purpose.
There’s a major difference here.
@@neymiiie That's true, but at the same time I feel like that's why the characters are kind of great. Even outside their "BIG ISSUE" that gets tackled in the shadow confrontations, they also have other flaws that they're allowed to have. Yosuke is kind of homophobic. That's not great. In fact it kind of sucks because other than that he's a generally likeable guy. But find any person on the street and there'll be something about them that really sucks, even in the best of people.
Yosuke is homophobic.
Chie has a bit of a violent streak.
Yukiko is possessive (I struggled for this one I admit. Yukiko is bland.)
Kanji is impulsive and doesn't think things through.
Rise is pushy and narcissistic.
Naoto is arrogant and self-important.
None of these are dealbreaker character flaws. All of them do their best to keep them in check. Even Yosuke at his worst is only afraid of "catching the gay" (which... considering he was originally going to be a romance option is kind of telling). It's something that sucks about them but it's something you do your best to accept because they're your friends. Being a friend means accepting someone for who they are, warts and all.
@@flux_casey yeah I get flaws, but my main problem is that Yosuke never apologizes for his behavior during the camping trip. I genuinely would have liked that moment if it was buildup for Yosuke realizing later that he’s being an asshole wich leads to him apologizing and becoming a better friend or something.
Instead however it’s an awkward moment where Yosuke is terrible towards Kanji (even if we ignore him poking at Kanji’s deepest insecurities he’s also basically suggesting Kanji would sexually assault them while they were sleeping) and then never gets mentioned again.
Idk I get that the game is old and Yosuke being a teenage boy (also if we count his cut romance there’s probably some internalized feelings to play as well) makes his homophobic behavior somewhat understandable, it’s more the fact that he never apologized for me.
@@neymiiie yeah, I don't think those scenes during the camping trip have to be removed so much as Yosuke should have realized later that he was actually hurting someone he calls his friend. It's fine to make mistakes, but it sucks when those mistakes aren't acknowledged when they're so big. Neither by himself or everyone else who's around seeing him treat Kanji like a predator.
On another note, if the whole "Yosuke was originally a romantic option" thing is true then his homophobia and some of the dialogue (asking which girl Yu's into) adds some interesting things to think about. Like were those scenes written just because they thought it'd fit him, did they make him double down on the whole "ew gay" thing so he wouldn't look gay himself after the rewrites, or were they leftover from Yosuke struggling to accept his own homo-ness in his original outline? 34:14 this whole scene is totally logical from Dojima's perspective. Remember, we know the murder's method, nobody else does though. If I were Dojima, living in a tiny town with a murderer whom has achieved two kills (two very recent kills), and my nephew takes my daughter out at night time just for some radishes, I'd be displeased with him and her too. To me, the strangest thing about this scenario and the reason for the disconnect is that his ire seems to go more towards Nanako than his nephew that put them both in danger.
It's cause he's upset he was disobeyed, not worried. So far there's only been 2 victims. The 2nd was involved with the 1st by being a "witness" to the body. No reason to worry yet
That wasn't why he said that, though. He said that because he wanted to discipline his daughter, only his daughter, for the sake of itself. He didn't care that Protag left, who is very, very clearly the correct person to "discipline," if you would discipline anyone there...

I love how Yosuke started off as best boy when Joe thought he was just a smarter Ryuji but then gradually went downhill as Joe started to realise he's really closer to Mishima
These age like fine wine, better after each viewing. I had not seen the real streams, so many of the edits, although funny, were left obscure.
But now, watching these for the second time... You can truly feel that Joe has both the power of God and Anime as Ose is born. It's glorious.

You know I've always like Yukiko even though everyone says that she's bland and uninteresting. She has a very reserved and interesting personality that makes her stick out in persona 4 as one of the best classmates.

seeing marie interactions make me think "wow she would've been cool in base game" but like other than the few dozen other interactions you get, there's no reason for her to have been added. Not saying marie is worst girl or anything, she's genuinely cute, but they set her up as this mysterious but clumsy girl from the velvet room that others can interact with, but it doesn't really expand on anything that's already present so, not to be biased, persona 3 and 5 definitely have a leg up on NG+ imo unless you enjoy this cast that much better or prefer light casual interaction to plot heavy ones.
I heard people were annoyed she was pushed as love interest too much... And we are talking about the game that Rise's in...

The amount of people who have the point of Kanji’s character arc just go right over their heads is always puzzling. Like, the entire point is that you can still be feminine/enjoy feminine things and still be a tough guy, it doesn’t make you a freak or an outcast or say anything about your sexuality. The amount of people who just assume Kanji is gay/bi because of it are the type of people that made Kanji repress those parts of him in the first place.
Tbh I think he's bi just cuz he said to him it isn't a matter of guys or chicks and he also liked shirogane even before he figured out that they were a girl

Yeah I think his character arc and sexuality are two different things that are explored at different times.
As mentioned, he still had a crush on Naoto even after she accepted/revealed herself as a girl, which he shows WAY after his initial arc is complete.
