Just a quick update on the auto feeder and some of the issues I've had with the pond since adding it.

A syphon would do it Jim you could feed the water back to the pond through a fine mesh net, great update as always.👍👍💯💯

Unfortunately Dave a syphon wouldn't work as the outlet must be lower than the inlet and where my pond is 'in ground' you cant do that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hi Jim, you seem to have the auto feeder about sorted now mate, looks good. I had a KH crash sometime back and it can take some sorting out getting your ammonia back down. You seem to have everything under control though mate, take care ,Terry.

Cheers Terry. Did you ever work out what caused your issues?

Hi Jim, If I'm honest, I don't really know mate. It could have been a number of things. Just before it, we'd had loads of rain, plus I'd used an algae treatment. I'd also taken my pond plants out of the pond, as they were taking up too much room. I think it could have been a combination of things that dropped my KH. Can't help much, sorry mate, Terry.

@@Wrighty Yeah that my problem too Terry. It could have any of several things or all of the combined

Interesting video Jim😊👍. As someone else has already commented, have you tried a fish tank syphon to get the fish food out of your plants, shouldn’t be too much pull on one of those??? Doesn’t look like your having much luck finding a new home for your goldfish☹️. Enjoyed your guest spot on Pond & Garden Tuesday night live yesterday but don’t think Gary was quick enough to get some of your responses😂🤣👍. Take care👍🐟🈲😊

Cheers Phil. Unfortunately a syphon wouldn't work as my pond is in the ground. For a syphon to work the outlet must be lower than the inlet as it works on gravity. No luck with the goldfish yet.... Did you want some 😀. I really enjoy Gary's live shows. As I said it's more like a bunch of friends just chatting and yes my humour can be easy to miss lol

The ammonia spike is suprising as you have a decent filtration system , glad youve sorted it , good info on the KH . Which test kit do you use ?
    Also the water looks crystal

Thanks Simon. Yes the ammonia surprised me too. As I said the only thing I can put it down to is the Virkon and the change in feeding pattern that all happened around the same time. KH is a very under rated test on a pond and it's far more important than people realise. I think my test kit is the API Pond Master Kit. I had to buy the KH and GH testers separately
