I mean, Faye is obsessively in love with Alm; so knowing that Celica is taking his hand in marriage must stir something sour in her.
So you can't get Python and Forsyth, which I understand, but Silque? no, Silque should be recruitable.
Nah it would contradict her ending and purpose. She wanted to go around the earth mostly Rigel to heal the injured. She couldn't do that with Celica.
Yes, but this is prior to all that. If that was truly the case, why did he join up with Alm? he never told her about going to Rigel. In fact, he was just going to join the Deliverance and take out Desaix for all she knew.
If anything, it would make more sense for her to join up with Celica, as she's going on a pilgrimage of sorts to the Temple of Mila, which Silque would probably want to go and do, as well.
She also only does so at the end of the game because she wants to heal all the innocent injured in the Rigelian-Zofian war, which she was involved in.
I think you guys are looking at this from the wrong direction. She's the only healer Alm gets for a long time if you don't have Faye switch to that class. Letting you permanently deprive yourself of any healer would be a pretty big problem.
Yes, I understand in the gameplay aspect of not having a cleric on your team, but by that point, you've practically told the game that you don't want her in your party.
Also, you have to go out of your way to even see these other characters interact with Celica, and you have to physically go to the thieves shrine and select 'yes'. The player would be perfectly aware of what they were doing.
but let's be honest here, not recruiting Silque with Alm is pretty much the dumbest thing you can do in this game. Maybe the devs made it so that you can't recruit her with Celica to let the players know that recruiting her with Alm is a must

Blu Rubber My Forsyth made Berkut look like an absolute joke in the first encounter against him, completely soloing him with little effort.

Well, sure. I get that. But it does make it stranger that Celica can't recruit Silque. Especially since Silque gets a conversation with Jesse in a Memory Prism. I guess that would leave Alm without an early-game healer except for possibly Faye, but still.
@@NoahOfTheArc You get the option not to recruit her, and Silque would want to make sure that Mother Mila is ok, so they should've went full circle with this. If the player wants to have no healers on one team and all the healers on the other, that's their choice, and by the game's own standards, they should have that choice.

I can understand the hate behind Faye. I personally don't hate her, I just feel sorry for her if that makes any sense. She's just kinda pathetic in how she clings to Alm.

Started a new game.
Used a pitchfork to reclass Boey into a soldier and recruited Faye on Celica's route to play the role of replacement mage.
Boey was always the more defensively inclined mage... So why not put him into a defensive class?
Why make Faye a mage in a route filled with mages; even if you didn't recruit Sonya, you'd still have Celica and Mae (and potentially Atlas) to use as mages.

Meanwhile, here I am wishing you could get some of Celica’s allies in Alm’s army. Celica gets better units, tbh.
She really just gets a different distribution of units.
Her army is mostly composed of:
Mages, Fliers, Mercenaries (that’s 9 units)
Where Alm’s route has only 3 of those same unit types unless you make your villagers into those classes.

well i don't exactly hate Faye in fact she is a good unit but her personality is really.... i really do not like it. this character in the personality can be summed up with just ALM. Characters develop but this character has no development whatsoever. considering this character was not in Gaiden and is original to this game i can see why with this sort of genre of char people might hate on Faye. maybe the character could of worked really well if they had pulled a interesting twist on her

if they had maybe made it so once her and alm hit A rank and they had the talk it got reduced to a C rank or stayed a B (basically their A rank was that she wants to settle down with alm but alm loves celica plus does not want to return to ram village and really who can blame him after being stuck there when he wanted to leave) . Once that had happened they could get some other characters in the party being able to support Faye to help her move on from alm and her recent event with him.
Honestly, if your logic was true, everyone would also hate Leon because he is madly in love with Valbar. But that's not true...and no, the reason is not because of bl fangirls. It's because Leon has more to his character, and he is respectful of what Valbar wants. However, Faye is completely selfish on her love for Alm. Even to the point that if you talk to her, she'll imply that she's better than Celica, and her family is concerned over her obsession over him. Alm even says that she should fight for herself instead of him, but she replies, "OK, any cause YOU want I'll fight for!," and he gets concerned because that's not what he meant. Her love for him in unhealthfully excessive to the point that she has absolutely nothing else to her character.
It's almost like she replaced takumi's place in "most hated fe character" lol

Of course not....
they do have passive support bonuses with Celica herself, but no actual supports.
They don't interact with Celica in any way. If they didn't fight for you you'd forget they were there at all on her route.
Barely anyone got supports in this game. It's quite a shame, but I can see that it'd be hard to implement supports built on the battlefield.

On Celica's route they do not have any supports besides passive ones with Celica. They're silent characters
Super Poké Emblem so if you recruit them with Celica there's no possible way to you can catch Faye or kliff standing there as an option to talk too
@@ultra6379 Nope. They have no special "base conversations" (as Serenes Forrest refers to them) that happen on Celica's route. I guess it's cause they didn't wanna voice act lines that most players would never see, but man does it suck.
How to you get to the Deliverance hideout with Celica?
I'm 2 years late so this might be useless to you, but once you finish Act 2, don't enter the castle. Just keep going, and you can get there.

I think Celica should be able to recruit Silque and Faye but not Kliff she has enough Mages on her route. Alm should be able to recruit the other mercenary in the desert that you defeat because he shouldn't die and flee but flee like Berkut did. Someone with a high critical hit and a sword would be good for Alm since he has a lot lance users instead, a few mages & healers, and 2 archers and a Pegasus Knight if you didnt recruit Faye and make her one. Alm and Gray are the only true sword wielders.

Yeah, uh, no, there's no requirement to make any villager any one thing. So that logic doesn't work. Also, you have the option to fight Sonya too. It's not just Deen that could have that option. But, also, their both in the other side of the continent. Yeah the item delivery boi crosses the mountains just fine but he isn't relevant. Deen and Sonya are actual playable characters. There needs to be consistency there, at least.

Am I the only one bothered by all the hate Faye is getting, yet I don't remember Tharja or Camilla getting nearly as much hate? While there are obviously two reasons why this might be, it really annoys me how it puts all the hate on Faye and not the characters like her. Even then at least Faye actually has more personality than just loving Alm, or at least more character than Camilla's one track mind.
Wolfgod 64 Camilla definitely got hate. Tharja’s obsession with MU, on the other hand, felt more like a quirk in her otherwise dark character. Although I wasn’t a fan of her character either.
Nathan B I suppose yeah, Tharja isn't that bad. She can be pretty interesting. I know Camilla gets hate, but it hasn't been enough to damage her popularity. Faye has been brushed aside due to her criticisms, but Camilla is still one of the most popular characters of Fire Emblem.
Nah. Faye doesn't have any personality that isn't Alm besides her conversation with Celica. That's it. Everything else, even when it shouldn't be about Alm (sending letters to her parents, Silque wanting to be friends with her), is. And Camilla and Tharja get hate, there's just a lot more silent people out there who like them anyway because *OmG bEsT WaIfU sHe'S sO hOt*
(Tbf, if anything, Tharja and Camilla actually have other things going on than just Robin/Corrin because they get more dialogue than Faye. Faye doesn't get that luxury.)

I always wondered what would happen if you did this type of thing. I wonder ...hmm....no...you can't do this type of thing in Alm's route. Nvm. I Do, however, wonder how the story changes if you did alternative things. Like, not recuiting Atlas, Palla, Catria, after the Grieth subquest. Or if you just do the main quests, without the sub quests, which in Alm's route....from experience, you do not want to do that, since you'll...well, kill off a character.

kingdombladesventus I was referring to delthea since you have to go out of your way to save her. And I don't think the game tell you she can be recruited if you missed out on Luthier for whatever reason.

Superluigi881 I recruited her because I saw her in the Support list online so I went out of my way to not kill her. It was really easy too because I got her to 1hp and got a unit on the supplies tile.

I love her as a saint, but she has no character to go with it.
She's a good unit, but a garbage CHARACTER.
Andrew A calling her garbage is a little too harsh. The only thing bad about her is that her reason for fighting in the war is to get Alm to like her back (remember, Celica only showed up in the village as a child for a month at most, so Faye probably thought she had a better chance getting with Alm due to being with him all throughout Ram Village). Tobin's fighting for money and a chance to show up Alm (albeit the money part is for his family) and Gray's fighting for a chance to pick up chicks (who he meets and then proceeds to try to get with her throughout the rest of the game).
But I think what mostly makes up for Faye's faults is that she doesn't force herself onto Alm or act like a creepy stalker girl (looking at you, Tharja). She says she wants to follow Alm no matter what, but if Alm declines she'll give up. She even goes as far as joining Celica in her fight and being able to sacrifice her life for Celica, knowing Alm still had feeling for Celica. And if she does go with Alm and supports him, Alm would eventually reject her and she handles the rejection well (although she wasn't able to let go of her feelings).
At least she attempts to move on from her unrequited love, eventually falling in love again and having a husband and kids. Even though she did keep leftover feelings for Alm in the end, when the person you were so in love with from childhood gained the power to slay gods and became the conqueror of the entire continent, it's probably hard to forget. :)
... I'm not calling her garbage. I was correcting the other comment, telling them that C-X 3 was calling Faye a garbage character, not unit.
I think she is the worst playable unit character-wise, but she's leagues above many of the Awakening/Fates characters, so oh well. I tolerate Faye, I just wish there was more to her than an Alm worshiper.
