    Another tip to fill a over size hole, taught to me by my carpenter father, is to fill the hole with wood glue and then stuff as many toothpicks in as will fit. Let dry and cut or break or sand off any excess at the top. The result is stronger than the original wood was.

    You can also use baking soda and super glue to fill the screw hole. Once it hardens, it is hard as a rock allowing you to drill into the area.

    I think just removing the center iron from the table and keeping the original legs would have updated the piece. Doing aged effect on the legs, and doing an aged wood color. Modern rustic, goes with many styles.
    The wooden legs look a bit dated.
    You do beautiful work.

    Love this!! Learned that surf prep has a round sponge type thing that I can attach to my orbital sander!!! Yay!! I’m a gardener so I’d make a box (inverted coffee table) with slats for bottom (for drainage) line with black liner, poke holes int black liner (between slats, then plant succulents with recipe for succulent dirt!! Store bought is not that great. Of course do all the sanding and stuff!! Use outdoor spray paint that’s used for outdoor equipment-forget the name-ugh. As far as legs! I’d use Dixie Belles patina paints to make rusty crusty!! Then plant!! Can decorate with marbles, pine cones, rocks, plastic animals, etc!!!

    I think the legs would make a great vanity stool! The sides would make an awesome piece to a headboard/footboard or daybed arms!
    Question? How often do you find the underside of tables or the backs of dressers stained to match the flip? Just curious- I like to flip/remodel etc for myself but have noticed on flip videos the drawers, backs or underneath of items typically aren’t done. Thanks & I absolutely LOVE the new table!!!!

    If the bolt in the legs wasn't the same size as the holes in the base, why didn't you just fill the holes in the base with the epoxy filler and then drill the correct size ?

    • @ChristinaMuscari
      @ChristinaMuscari  Před 10 měsíci +2

      The table top had threaded inserts in the hole, so I would have had to pry those out to be able to fill and redrill. That seemed harder than replacing the bolts, so I went that route, but you could definitely do either.
