Basically what i think about all you said about your first point, living abroad is all about DIY system. I live in America and it's the same thing my best friend lives in the UK and she complains about the same thing. So the system makes you try thing out by yourself.

I know! , that phone one was actually very shocking to me. I found that most places I’ve worked, it was frowned upon to use your phone and all that. So Her Spoilt Husband can come home and just sit around doing nothing. Women started Fighting Back in the 1960's. Now any Self-respecting Women will want nothing to do with Men Like That. Some Men will cook a meal to impress a future Partner.
