I was going crazy trying to clean the scroll wheel instead of the mechanism beside it like you showed. Thank you for the tip, works perfectly now!
Thank you. It worked like a charm for me. This had been so frustrating. I especially like the tip to mask the rest of the device with a tissue. In my 50+ years of doing DIY (reluctantly) I had never run across this advice, and I can see how useful it would be in other situations.
DUUUUDEE THIS WAS INTANT, very well done and good job on helping soo many people fixing their stuff instead of buying new ones, thanks again!
This worked for me on my Steel Series WoW Cataclysm Mouse. I had to find the screws first and then spent a good hour cleaning out years of hair and fuzz out of the sensor.
Thanks so much.
Gotta remember to do this periodically. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. My mouse was so bad, it was absolutely pointless to even try to scroll. if it worked, it went in the wrong direction. All it took was a little oil on the small wheelie thing, works like a charm now! Awesome stuff!
Great video. Easy to understand and see while being short enough for my limited attention span. Did this with my mouse and worked great. A+
i use a wired mouse but followed the same steps but instead of putting WD40, i gently apply Vaseline Petroleum Jelly and it worked like a charm. Thank you for this tutorial.
You're welcome. Thanks for the info, I know that vaseline is a lubricant although never occurred to me to use it in this application. Glad to know it worked out well for you.
I also used Vaseline and would have never thought of it if it weren't for this comment
@@cartmaneric1008 Appreciate the feedback Eric, and it's good to know it worked out well for you.
This worked a treat, thanks!! The only difference for my mouse was there was a lip on the front lid and two screws hidden under soft pads on the front, and the wheel couldn't easily be removed so I left it in place whilst spaying the lubricant.
Thank you so much for this fix! I tried everything and have been dealing with this issue for over a year now. I even completely took it apart and cleaned it and it still didn't work. I was skeptical, but this worked immediately! I almost bought another one too. Thanks!
I tried this method and came back just to say that this really worked. Never thought this would help. You just saved me $30. Thanks brother.
MY DUDE! It's actually working!
I've seen this before, but I thought it wouldn't work and I just spread the WD without opening the mouse. Now some months latter your video and the comments encouraged me to open it, thanks!
Totally worked. I had started looking for a new mouse and now I don't need to! Thank you a lot
Im mad at how easy this method and how effective it is! thax mate
Thank you, although it's intimidating to open the mouse and mess with what's inside you really helped me on this one!
Fixed mine with this. You are a life saver!! I wish I didn't threw my old mouse with the same issue.
didn't do any effort since june.. now i did what i had to do following these steps and works perfectly!
Thank you Alwadii! Appreciate this video :)
I'm amazed of this solution. Now my mouse works again as expected!
I'm glad it works for you again!
Your video is short and to the point. I've fixed my mouse, It was scrolling so bad I couldn't take it anymore. Thank you.
I appreciate the kind words, I'm glad its working well now.
Really easy and works like a charm. Thank you very much!!!!
You're welcome.
Glad to know that it worked out well and was easyto follow.
Perfect tutorial! I substituted a drop of oil on my finger tip for the WD40, and my mouse is as good as new. Thank you for the excellent video!
Bravo! Thank you for instructions, Sir! Worked like a charm!
I fixed two broken mice using this method. If I wouldn't have lost my temper and threw one against the wall, I would have had three. 'Preciate it my brotha
So glad you found it useful, respect!
@@boxbiru wth
@@boxbiruhow did u do that emoji?
@EmanUg atfer i search for about 5 minutes, I can't find my emoji -_____-
Worked perfectly, thank you!
Wow! Worked 100%. Just awesome! Thanks so much.
I did not expect this to work but it did. Awesome video!
Great stuff. Instantly felt like that repair guy meme after doing this quick fix. Scroller works perfect now.
Precise concise and to the point :)
it works!! Thank you for sharing this tip! I used a specialist contact cleaner though which is non conductive and had to spray it it 2-3 times and test again until the scroll went smoothly
This worked! Can't thank you enough. Mouse wheel now feels like new.
It worked a miracle! Saved me from a new mouse and boosted my fixer spirit! Thank you!
thank you from the bottom of my heart
Thanks bro. Your video really helps. Go right to the point for solution! Kudos to you.
This actually helped, at least for now. Thank you.
OMG! Thank you so much! Made it by myself thanks to your video! So happy now
Brilliant solution - was driving me crazy - works really well - thank you!
Your welcome.
I'm delighted to hear that you have it back working well, craze no more!
Does it still working or begins to glitch? After a year.
you're a life and money saver man! thanks for this!
You're most welcome, gald it helped.
Thank you!! Fixed it and it works better than ever!!
Works like a charm! Thank you!
I have the same exact mouse with same problem. This really helped fixing it. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the tip, works perfectly now....amazing
Thanks, man, for sharing your experience!
Thank you so much mate!
You saved me a trip to buy a new mouse👍
you're a genius thank you for save me some money
note:
you add a drop on the tip of screwdriver and use it as a more precise application
Glad to know that you were able to save some money, and yes, i didn't think about that but it's a good idea to apply a drop or two on the screwdriver to help with the precise application, thanks for the feedback 🙏🏻
Before surgery, I tried this. My Corsair Ironclaw wheel was jumping the webpage erratically up and down. I turned the mouse upside-down, and gently but quickly rolled the wheel along the big mousepad about 15 times. I guess some stubborn dust got removed because it worked perfectly after that.
I can't believe it was this simple.
I have a Starlight 12 TenZ edition and it's had the "phantom" scrolling problem ever since I got it. I RMA'd it back to Final Mouse and they sent it back... problem still persisted. I even installed the latest firmware and that didn't help either. I was reading on Reddit that you shouldn't use WD40, and that Isopropyl alcohol is better. WD40 is all I had. Glad I tried it because it scrolls PERFECTLY now. Seriously, not a single incorrect scroll input. Thanks for this video you're a damn life-saver.
Thanks for the advice!
This really works. I am very thankful to your video.
Actually worked! Razer Viper Mini user here, though I had to watch a different teardown, the process is basically the same. Thanks!
Did it work for long? Is it an actual long term solution for you? I have the same issue but idk if i should bother buying wd40?
@@maccly3352 you probabaly bought a new mouse by now, but vegetable oils works like wd40
@@Vortex53306 Yeah I swapped to Steelseries Prime. Couldn't be arsed to deal with Viper. After a while of wd40 the problem was coming back. Such a shame nowadays they make pc mice so poorly. Even my new steelseries is not without issues out of the box :/
Thank u soo much I just repaired my Corsair mouse with this method. U are hero!
It actually worked! Thanks for the video!
Serbian!
Mnogo ti hvala!
Uspeo sam!
Taj problem me izludeo.
Thank you sooo much!
It worked!
I almost went crazy about it.

Totally works!

worked so well , thanks a lot
Thank you soo much! It drove me crazy.
You are most welcome!
Unbelievable. Thank you. You just saved me from buying/keeping/not returning this new one....now where did I put that receipt?
I logged in just to say THANK YOU. I just love my mouse and I don't feel like changing it with another trashy one. I had this mouse for so long. I can't just let go of it like that. Thank you again
Thank you very much, it's very useful.
Omg! It worked! Thank you so muuuch!!!
Awesome! Just fixed my mouse with this solution. Thanks!
Happy to be of service to you. Enjoy.
Thank you so much it really works like magic
Super helpful! Thank you.
You're most welcome!
Worked, thank you so much
I have suffered for months with a jumpy scroll, watched this vid but used an AIR DUSTER spray instead. FANTASTIC, mouse is like new. Thanks Mr Alwadii
same. I've watched many videos, but this one actually showed me that the part holding the scroll wheel is not as rigid as I thought, that it can safely be pried slightly to get the wheel out and in again.
It worked 100% ! Thanks a lot 🙌🏻
I used few drops of clipper's oil instead of WD40, and it worked like a charm 🙂
Thank You❤
Thanks man, I did not think that would work
I fixed mine just opening it and blowing the dust out. this video still helped me figure out which part to focus on thanks.
Nice, job well done 👏🏻
i can't believe it, it actually works.
@@aldiauliaali5260 Thats great to know!
It worked!!! Fantastic. Thanks a lot
Thank you very much, i was thinking i would need to replace the sensor thingy but so far the WD40 seems to have done the trick, thanks for a short and informative video! 👍
You my friend are a lifesaver. I was about to throw it away! Thank you!
Man this really worked, thank you🔥💯
Thank you so much! I couldn't remove the scroll wheel in mine (Titanwolf Gaming mouse), but I used the tissue paper trick with a WD40 equivalent and now it works like a charm :)
I already bought new mouse and have a courage to fix the broken one and i did it and it FIXED, Thank you so much!
I was literally on the shopping website about to buy one and then came across your page'cause I was gonna replace my£6 mouse that I've had for years - I think now this will go another six years after your fix thanks very much
Works like a charm, why did i never thought of just throwing "magic potion" onto the scroll :D
It worked like a charm! Thanks a ton buddy
That's great, you're welcome buddy!
Thanx a lot, dude! It works!
It worked! You saved my mouse!! Thanks!👍
worked perfectly. helped so much thx.
Works well, thank you very much!!!
You're welcome, happy it worked with you.
Thank you! Worked perfectly for my Rainbow 680
Glad to hear that it works perfectly!
just did this to my mouse and it worked a treat cheers matey :)
While this video itself didn't really help exactly as intended since my mouse apparently has optical scroll. I did notice the optical sensor was crooked so i bent it back straight and now it seems to work better than it ever has. So while this didn't help me it prompted me to take apart my mouse and fix it. But i am grateful for you pointing out it was a hardware issue and not software issue as i originally thought! Thank you :D
i know this comment was made a long time ago but i had a simmilair issue the peice of plastic that went into that gear thingy on the scroll wheel broke off so i had to do a wheel transplant with a diffrent broken mouse i found
Thanks! It works very well
pal, this is magic. for so long it frustrated me. now i found the solution, thank you!
Gald to hear it works like magic!
Your welcome mate.
Because of this I looked near the mouse wheel and saw that there is a optical plate that had dust on it like it has on the bottom sensor, I blew the dust out of there with some compressed air also did that for the bottom sensor for crisp aim and the scroll functions normal again, glad that I did not have to remove the sliders!
Thanks a bunch!! ❤️
You're most welcome 🌹
It worked!!! Thank you bro 🙌
Cheers, got a new mouse a few month ago then this started happening, was driving me nuts, opened it up and it had hairs around the wheel, removed them added a bit of vaseline for lube and its all good! Much appreciated good ser.
Thanks for the tip! I really didn't think it was going to work, but it did. I fixed my Microsoft wireless mouse 3500. I used a lot more WD-40 than you did. I really blasted it a number of times! When I reassembled the mouse, I also put just a tiny bit of white lithium grease on the axle-shaft supports, since the original factory grease was old and gunky.
Great work you did, happy to hear it's back to normal!
Thank you for this video!! I just tried this on an expensive Razer gaming mouse and it 100% fixed the scrolling problem. I was about to buy a new one, but this just saved me some cash!!
I have a razer viper mini and it have this problem can you tell me how can i open it thanks
@@abbreylifn7483 just take the screws on the bottom out. They might be hidden under the little pads, you will have to peel them off.
