I remember being broken down in Tucumcari, on a trip from VA Beach to San Diego in the 90's. If you needed parts for a VW Rabbit Diesel P.U. then; they had to be shipped from Albuquerque on the Greyhound bus, which hit Tucumcari about 3p.m. each afternoon. The first day, they sent the wrong one, so my friend decided we would sit in that old Rt1 motel for 24more hours until his part finally arrived at 3:30 on Fri afternoon. I certainly wish I had some entertainment like this group, while I was spending days of my "CA dreaming surf vacation" in their town, I only previously knew of in the song "Willing".
