deep dive is becoming my favourite redmen content! brilliant lads!
Love that. Thank you!
This is a brilliant episode! Some fascinating insights that point to an exciting future. Up the fucking Redmen!!

Top job
“I don’t want to talk about the 115 charges, but know that it’s at the front of my mind always” perfectly summarizes my thoughts on the issue 😂
I do love Josh. He's so understated and chilled but with the knowledge.
Quick on this one lads- fairplay. Deep Dive is quality
I'm really happy about Edwards coming back because - as I've said a few times - our next manager won't have Klopp's stature and experience (unless we go for a Mourinho or Conte - which I pray we don't) and will therefore need a strong setup around him to succeed. With Edwards and (potentially) Hughes in place, I'd be okay with any of the young, upcoming coaches whose names are being floated about (Alonso, Amorim, Nagelsmann, De Zerbi, Sanchez). My concern is that, if we give Alonso loads of time and space to make a decision and then find out that he's staying-put, Bayern, Barca and Chelsea could end up nipping in and getting our second or third choice and leaving us with someone like Tuchel...
I think if you are going to have a multi club format, the sensible thing is have one in South America, Asia, and one in Europe. That way you will have a pathway into all the big markets and hopefully a closer ear to the ground for any potential future stars.
Schmatke bring in Endo, Sobozlai and Gravenberch. Greetings from a German Fan.
This show always hits differently. Great work lads 👍🏽
Love that!
we have a wonderful team with talented youngsters following. we need a good manager and coach, and we could go on a wonderful run.
Great chat lads, thanks! As Josh points out I think we were absolutely at the point where the manager was running the majority of the recruitment process and where ME didn't feel valued and his work was being ignored - and so he voted with his feet.
The common chat was that he recommended an update on the midfield and located Martinez (Chelsea) & Guimares (Toon) with both valued at about 15m each and also advised against renewing Hendo's deal. JK famously belittled and berated anyone who suggested the midfield needed attention and promptly gave 31year old Hendo a 4 year contract - which he scarpered from a year later!
The new set up should/could absolutely suit Xabi; very much a hands on coach who could add a serious level of technical ability to the team - particularly the midfield. Exciting times.
With edwards coming back you have to think there must have been some sort of fallout with him and klopp before he left.
I would suspect it lies somewhere between not selling a spent Hendo and signing an injury-prone Thiago.
You can see how happy Josh is about Edward’s signing and what the owners looking to get another club and Josh is so very intelligent and his eye’s have lit up since Edward’s has signed and as I said it is great signing we got Edward’s back home YNWA
Great conversation - very insightful!
Thank you mate. Really appreciate that!
Remarkable analysis and top notch view of what Michael Edwards will do under Liverpool 2.0. Thus, this will be a new platform and working Richard Hughes will need to know the right targets and the model to use to find the player for Liverpool.
Furthermore, Chris glad you shared some history on how Edwards has transformed the Liverpool squad over the 10 years. Josh this quite an analysis on how the Liverpool squad has evolved over the years. Fair enough and enjoying the deep dive segment🔥🔥🔥👌🏾
Such a great episode. This appointment possibly answers some of last summer's questions. Reverting to a process for decision-making rather than a person seems like the best structure for long-term success.
Added bonus for Josh losing his head while romaticizing the memory of Michael Edward's odor. 😂
Simply Brilliant. Love watching a football podcast based on data as opposed to media articles or rumers. Keep these coming boys
Love the content lads keep up the amazing work 👍👍👍👏👏
Love the deep dive, lads. Around Alonso, using Mourinho as a proxy, there's no doubt the data didn't predict he'd become as successful as he has based on the CL at Porto. The fact he went and did that shrinks the error bars based on sample size and increases the confidence that the lad can get results at the highest level and arguably more with stronger squad. I've little doubt that if a fee can be agreed with Leverkusen, Edwards/Hughes/FSG will want Alonso at Anfield.
i've been an ice-hocket fan for 20 years and the NHL teams all have an affiliate 'minor' team. it would be like if Liverpool became an affiliate club with a championship team but without promotion/relegation as part of the system. it works very well for player development within one club system
Chris is bang on with multi club ownership. Given the lack of rules currently, a club as large as Liverpool has to at one point start considering it, but it's a huge loophole that screams conflicts of interest that bigger authorities need to clean up.
This was the only legitimate way to make the pain of Jurgen's departure somewhat reasonable. Glad we have him back. Don't be surprised if we get money for Thiago and Matip in the summer.
You mentioned 2 of 3 players whose contracts expire June 2024. Clubs can talk to either player and offer T&C's without informing LFC or permission to acquire them on a free transfer. Matip & Thiago are free to join ANY club in 3 months.
Worth the Redmen subscription alone. My favourite show along with Biased podcast.
Great insightful content as always lads. Totally get your view Chris about MCO but I think if it’s a club with financial troubles and hidden potential, it could benefit that club as much as us. They can sign young players they otherwise wouldn’t be able to etc and get Edwards guidance to grow
Redmen Tv is more than a Liverpool fan channel even if you are not a Liverpool fan you will learn more about football from Consistent Chris and the brilliant Josh Williams
Brilliant episode 👏
Really looking forward to seeing how he works with Russ Fraser and Matt Beard.
Josh is absolutely brilliant. So are you too, Chris :D
His background in physics definitely shapes his data driven approach…I respect his vision an approach(i done physics at uni) he will be a major asset to the club moving forward.in safe hands.
Pissed myself when Pajak put him in his place about going to conferences with Edwards like they drove together. Josh is class though I’m a big fan but that was unreal lol
10 in a row here we go! Makes sense to have a second club in FSG portfolio. Like that portugeezer one to River Plate.
Some episode lads 👏🏼
Made up to see edwards return to lfc, for me theres a massive elephant in the room for edwards recruitment is the fact that a lot of the credit for quality of players is down to klopp and not edwards. Edwards was sporting director with rodgers in charge, only when klopp came in the positive changes happened
Love this content
What a time to be a Liverpool right now with Michael Edward’s coming back home and to me this is sounds like a new signing and Edward’s turned down Utd, Chelsea and Real Madrid and probably more teams that is for sure.
I cannot stop smiling with is fantastic news. Roll on Sparta Prague and then Utd in the FA Cup on Sunday the future is very bright indeed and all the players need not need to worry because Edward’s will start working on new contract’s for Van Dijk, Trent and Mo along with other players and yes John Henry and FSG have made some massive mistakes since they took over but we as Liverpool fans should just appalled John Henry and FSG for bringing Edward’s back and they have a new sporting director coming from Bournemouth and now all this is in place it is now time to go and get Xabi Alonso now. YNWA
Top quality, and I loved this. Thank you, gentlemen 👍
Merci beaucoup!
If we (FSG) were to buy another club, thoughts on Pep Lijnders being brought in as manager?
Really enjoy these deep dive sessions Chris and Josh… great insights! 👏
Another fascinating vid chaps, many thanks! Edwards coming back can only be a good thing.
Hope so!
Question, if RedBull have the training and promotion via Salzburg to Leipzig etc... how much do they get from these transfers etc? They have an incredible youth scheme (probably one of the best in europe) but I'm wondering whats in it for them?
I'm curious what you guys think about. The fact that our recent acquisitions seem to have been some of our very best and how that will dovetail with adding edwards back into the mix. Pardon the horrible punctuation google sucks
every other club seem to be doing the multi club ownership thing and using it as an advantage so its about time we start doing it. And with these saudi clubs like man city and newcastle doing it, I think its important that we do the same just to be able to compete with them. But I agree, this should never have even happened in the first place.
I personally would like Xabi, but Edwards x Nagelsmann could have frightening upside.
Sound deep dive as per 👏
Where are the fsg out guys at. Can't fault what they have been doing recently
Back in day: shankley and paisley: put that player in resvsres and bed them in
With some of the South American talent that's been signed for dirt cheap then sold on a year or 2 later for huge money l wouldn't be surprised if we buy a Brazil/Argentine side
Definitely on the cards. FSG were linked with FC Cruzeiro in Brasil a couple of years back but Ronaldo (the fat and real one) ended up buying them.
I recon it will be a temporary job to see transition of new manager hel be more involved in new club stuff for fsg
So did he initially leave because of Klopp and is only agreeing to come back because Klopp is leaving?
Deep Dive Tuesday's! ;o)
Edwards gurning like he's on garys in every photo
Something that hasn't been spoken about, is how much Edward's will be paid. Considering the club have been trying to get him back for a while now, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a pretty big number.
Who cares how much he is being paid, the best man for the job, is what's important
@@josephrelph5235 Because I'm actually curious, so unless you've got something constructive to odd to the conversation, fuck off!
Isn't he head of fsg as well so he will take over day to day things so maybe fsg are never leaving
Back then boot room and Geoff twentmeny
Could he persuade Klopp to stay
Why did Edwards leave in the first place ?
If theres a 2nd club south of France...just saying
I’d love it if FSG bought a Scottish club and maybe for the time being made it a feeder team for us. To develop young players but also increase interest in Scottish football
Just need Klopp to stay or Lijnders to get the job, or what's the point?
Are those the only two people he can work with? You must be 12yrs old
A Portuguese club makes sense
Get a South American team a mid table Portuguese team and an MLS team
South America > Portugal> Liverpool> MLS
After LFC the top players can go to the MLS and keep them in the franchise.
Multi-club ownership may be fun and games while one is top of the pyramid. It's probably a lot worse when one is not. There's always a bigger fish in the sea. One way or another, monopolisation via multi-club ownership will kill the game. I can't blame LFC, because the regulatory bodies should've done something to stop it.
So basically, "good process lads."
Pretty much haha
It's true - he really does look like he's eating a carrot.
We are Liverpool fc. Never never give up Allah u akbar we love you all YNWA ❤
Never go back to an EX, it never works out, there’s a reason an Ex is an Ex and should remain an Ex!
waffling on a rivals fan channel 🤣
@@Jporter196 truths the truth, when do Ex’s ever work out? Of course the odd exception to the rule, look at CR7, said it the too, we weren’t his dream club so why bring him back when he was finished, fecked everything up!
stop trying to monopolise football, always based on instinct
The father that stepped out for cigarettes and came back.
If Edwards comes in an sells Salah, or VVD, he can duck back off to mickey mouse land,..Edwards first job should be double Diaz wages from £50,000 per week and Endos, wages. How the Duck do we pay Nat Phillips more than Diaz and Endo, its ducking disgusting. Sell Phillips, offload Thiago, Matip an Phillips and that saves £310,00 in wages each week, sell Phillips for £8 million, and keep the money. Tie down Salah VVD, TTA, Jota, Diaz, Alisson, Salah, with £50,000 each pay rises. VVD , Salah get contract extensions to keep them here till January 2027. We can buy an additional CB if we need one. The youngsters have come through and Clarke, Bradley, Quansah, have already proved they can play premier league games
Did you sniff him lol 😆 😂
The bunny man returns!!
Snort Football
They will still only win the league cup 🤣🤣🤣
Good info but where are the humans like Klopp in all of this, so here's some new words ...Allez, allez, allez, allez.. we've conquered all the DATA, we're never gonna stop, from SPREADSHEATS down to Turkey we've won the fucking lot .... Micheal Edwards and Richard Hughes, we are all supporters and we come from.......
I love the romance of sport, I know it's changed and works like this so don't bother sending me horrible replies I'm just sad for the loss of Klopp and lets be honest FSG said thanks but no thanks to him.
Fsg tried to buy a Brazilian team, so buy one of them and purchase a Portuguese team and it's a great idea. I think u don't like the idea is because ur a ragging socialist mate.
Huh??
