I get the feeling that im watching to many kdramas with evil mother in laws .__. When my husband and i go to his mothers house my panic level is off the roof. I worry if i dressed okay and if im eating the right way. Etc etc. Sadly i dont know Korean so i can't really converse with her or help her in anything. Even on her birthday we were picking her a plant as a gift. "I don't want her to think i have bad taste in picking the color, she might think i make bad choices in life too, pink is too brigt, red looks horrible, white is too simple" my husband must laughed and told me "see thats what you get for watching dramas too much, she isnt like that" ._________. Im not putting my guard down tho lol

It is better not speaking Korean since she won’t have an expectation. Culturally oppressed, many Korean daughters-in-law try to be obedient in the beginning and recently I see more people terminate their relationship with in-laws after years of abuse.

How sad would it be to have a materialistic mother like that who only cares about money and social status... Unfortunately, his wife is even worse. I guess I should refrain from using any inappropriate language. Looks like they seriously screwed up his life. Although the situation and people in this drama are overly exaggerated, the overall concepts of materialism, greed, deceit, and immorality cannot be overlooked. This drama illustrates and defines the moral problems in our society even if the drama itself is overly exaggerated. Also, we should still value our parents opinion...unless their like the mother from this drama~ ^_^
