    1:55 ...This might be confusing to new callers. Air should not go over the call! If air is getting over top of the tape and reeds, you have a bad seal on the call. Air should go over your tongue, but underneath the call! I just don't want anyone seeing this and becoming confused trying to get air over the call.

I was also struggling with getting any sound, and they had a world champion caller by the name of Preston Pittman on. is the air flow supposed to go between the tongue and the call or the roof of the mouth and the call? seems like in the video you say for the air to go over the top of the call, but for me the air is going between the tongue and the call so technically the bottom of the call (where the shorter latex is). is this correct?

    ok i have a few questions. Number 1; when i put the call in my mouth where should it be? Towards the front or towards the middle? If i bite down i can feel the tape between my teeth. Number 2; when i blow i feel alot of vibration from the reeds on the roof of my mouth and on my tongue, is that supposed to happen? Or am i putting too little pressure on the reeds when i blow?

    • @PrimosHuntingVideo
      @PrimosHuntingVideo  Před 6 lety +3

      You don't want to have the tape between your teeth. You'll want to move the call back so the front of the call is between your first premolars. From there you'll just have to play with it. Use the back of your tongue to apply pressure to the tape of the call. Try getting the call in the right spot and it should help.

      You might need to gently bend the inner ‘frame’ of your call to better fit it into the roof of your mouth. Different people have different shapes ;) Also, can try trimming *the sides* of the call (but not the back - towards your throat). See the fist video in this series.

    • @PrimosHuntingVideo
      @PrimosHuntingVideo  Před 6 lety +1

      The reed with the cuts in it should be facing up. Also if you feel around the edge of the latex on the metal rim of the call, on the bottom of the horseshoe, you'll feel a little raised tab. That side goes down.
