It's been a year since Jessica Starr's suicide and, while we don't talk about her much on TV because it's just too hard, today is an important day to remember her.
What impacts me the most about this case, is that she seemed to have everything going for her in her life. Beautiful kids, a loving husband, a well-paid successful career, good looks, intelligence, charisma. But none of that was enough to supplant the pain she was going through. Just puts into perspective what she was dealing with. r.i.p.
This is so sad, she seemed like such a sweetheart. As a chronic pain sufferer myself, I can understand. There's been times that I could have so easily ended it all, but I'm doing OK now, and coping well. 🧡 to all her family and friends.
James, I'm very glad that, even though you suffered through your chronic pain, you didn't give up on life, endured and am doing better now. I applaud you for finding the strength from within to keep on living your life. We all have various issues which we go through in our lifetime which can cause us to sometimes want to give up and some people do give up. A physical issue with pain can certainly be a reason why some would choose to end it all, but there's always hope for everyone, I believe. If you believe in the Bible, you would agree that taking one's own life is murder of oneself and a sin which God cannot forgive because you would no longer be alive to ask forgiveness of this action. Since He cannot forgive this, then those who commit this act cannot enter his kingdom in Heaven. Unfortunately, there is another place where those people would go, a place that none of us should ever want to go. Once again, so glad that you're doing better and with advances in medicine, possibly there may appear on the market something to take away all your pain in the near future. Take care and best to you!

This hurt our family so deeply, Jessica was apart of our family too, we saw her more in our home than our actual family members. I'll never forget that day and how it impacted us, I was in disbelief! What a beautiful tribute that you all put together. We are Praying for her family and her fox2 family.
I miss jessica, we should say prayers for her family. Why couldnt everyone have helped her, thru a rough time. Her poor husband, and kids. My heart goes out to them.
My wife committed suicide in 2016 at age 49. Lot of family problems we had she couldn't handle with bipolar disorder, our marriage was bad after 24 years, daughter died of a heroin overdose at 24 in 2013, oldest son was homeless at the time (he was very violent and got kicked out of his place and mother worryed he would die) of her death that had/ has schizophrenia, was hit by a semi truck in 2010 on I-75 going to a patient's house (she was a homecare RN) and suffered left side closed hesd injury, left side scarring to her heart, and spinal injury, life was too much for her to take. My guess Jessica also had bipolar disorder. I have anxiety disorder and mild PTSD. Lot of us are good at hiding our illness, and isn't easy to deal with when you don't have insurance to see a therapist like me.
What a beautiful woman she was! Her kids.... wow... absolutely beautiful. I live in Seattle so I don’t know who Jessica was but I do know that I stumbled on this video for a reason. ❤️ I don’t know what that reason is but. I’m saying an extra prayer for her and her family on this Christmas Eve day. I am not sure how she passed but boy does it look like heaven DEFINITELY gained while her family has lost. She was a beautiful woman and everyone seemed to really like her. With two kids and a husband, don't you think that she taking her life over an eye issue was very irresponsible. She brought these kids into the world and should have been thinking about their care instead of her eye issue. I am not passing judgment on her,merely stating what the Bible teaches about killing. We as humans cannot pass judgment on, only God can and what he has taught us clearly in his one of His commandments is that we shall not kill. He gave her life and she nor anyone else is permitted to take it away. If we accept Christ as our savior and follow Him, we are saved and will spend eternity with Him. In fact, if you do this you are already spending eternity with Him. We're just on Earth right now, Heaven will follow.

It might’ve been her eyes were in pain and she wasn’t handling it well or it could’ve been more than just that. It’s just sad that her kids don’t have their mom anymore. LASIK surgery I heard isn’t usually like that.

As odd as this will sound, I remember hearing about Jessica when it happened , naturally I googled/youtubed her. I remember thinking wow she had it all, The looks, the family, the career..why would she do that? (in a very non judgmental way) Being a Christian made me realize that she must have been in serious mental/physical pain to have done this especially so close to Christmas. We never really know what someone is going through. I don't know why but I often think of this, and it makes me sad that such a talented person was taken too soon. I can't help but wonder if there were any signs leading up to this? Did she seem ok that morning her family left the house? Most people suffer in silence, we really don't know how someone is feeling on the inside.. I wish that she would have realized this too shall pass, things are bad now but will get better in time. Just heartbreaking.

Sadly most people aren't strong enough to be able to go through that pain for the rest of their lives. In her vlogs she expressed how much she regretted the decision to have the surgery constantly. Well since you're a Christian as well I'm just going to say that she should never have killed herself that was completely selfish of her she just cared about herself not her children not her husband just herself she did not trust God to get her through this battle she must have not had enough Faith or was not a Christian and unfortunately we know where she really is right now, she could have gotten healed, she was not strong enough and she felt like killing herself was a way out , here's what they did though and if you don't agree with what I'm saying read the book of Job he went through complete hell lost his wife and kids his health was declining and he still trusted in God and God healed him and blessed him tenfold of what was took from him

I don't think that's accurate. How do you think "she saw no hope"? She had a great career, marriage, and children, friends, etc. I believe she had an acute reaction directly related to her surgery. Also, this has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

Her death actually doesn't add up at all... We've got no further contact after the Nov 13 vid, and no info about that whole month? I think the lasik was just a cover for what really happened. If it's that painful I could understand suicide, but not even leaving a note for her kids to read later is just cruel and she isn't cruel. Inconsistent narrative and lack of transparancy going on here.

Lasik destroys every life

@@mattr8251 People get corneal neuralgia from regular LASIK too. Anything that cuts the nerves poses the risk of neuropathy.

I think the lasik was just a cover for what really happened. If it's that painful I could understand suicide, but not even leaving a note for her kids to read later is just cruel and she isn't cruel. Inconsistent narrative and lack of transparancy going on here.

She tried going back to work for one day and the studio lights were so painful and she could not tolerate the light sensitivity and pain..

It wasn’t drugs. She got LASIK eye surgery done and it damaged and dried her eyes out so bad that she took her own life because she was suffering from dry eyes. So sad.
