I gotta say that Kanye's songs are a different kind of hiphop; he knows how to portray "suffering" in a genre that it's main characteristic is braggadocio, gang violence and "the good life" of money and excesses. Singing about internal sufferings and longings is quite unusual in hiphop and Kanye masters that aspect of it. His best songs are quite introspective and you "feel" his struggle in the song. That's some top-level artistry; no wonder why he thinks he's like Picasso or Michaeangelo. I can't say if he is, but he's mastered a forgotten corner of hip hop and nobody can top him there
