The problem with the parchment paper is you need to put the waxy side on the canvas. I didn't realize there was two sides and my paper stuck to the canvas and ruined it. Please tell people which side of the parchment paper to put on the canvas.
Kathy Gambsky Oh no!! My parchment is non-stick on both sides, so that didn’t occur to me. I will pin your post in hopes that it will prevent problems for people. 😢
Kathy Gambsky Parchment paper doesn’t have wax- it’s why you can bake with it. Wax paper is different all together. Check the box and see which one you actually have. It’s a common mistake, they are sold in the same area in stores. I’m sorry your project was ruined.🤗💜
Kathy Gambsky try this video. czcams.com/video/3hkf0f-p_eE/video.html
Kathy, I just read a dp hack put out by Artful Diamonds(on Pinterest).Use baby wipes(yes baby wipes) to clean off debris, pet hair, etc. They say that the sticky will return to the canvas when dry. I have some on hand for stamping so I'll give it a try when necessary. It's worth a try...☺
UPDATE: On 6/6/20 (that's when I viewd the video)Mrs. Crochet & Coffee sez to use a blow dryer after you use the baby wipes. Will give this a try as well😎
Are the drill pens for round drills the same as for the square drills?
I wish I had known that I was going to get hooked on doing diamond paintings.
Tonya Daniel 😂😂😂 Yessssss!!!
same haha
i’m honestly not surprised though because i’ve always loved color by number and coloring books 😊
I wish I had known that, not only would I love doing them, but, also shopping for them!!
I blame my sister as she got me my first one and now I can't stop lol but I've now moved onto personalised ones of pets and family and things but I love them and I'm pretty quick at them 1 tip I've found get a light pad they are great I have 1 with a stand u just clip them together and away u go
@@cazthompson7406 I had problems leaning over a table for very long. An artists table easel box is great for small ones, but, my drafters table well be here tomorrow. You need something like that for DAC sized paintings
I have been diamond painting now for about six years. One of the most valuable lessons that I learned was purchasing a good straightening tool. I have compared crooked drills to those I have taken the time to straighten and the images are sharper, and look nicer up close. The best straightening tool I have ever purchased is a thin metal tool versus the plastic ones. I straighten as I go in sections. Then I take a look at the overall painting when I am done and again straighten where I see it is needed. I guess I am a bit of a perfectionist. This tool is invaluable to me. I love your video, thank you so much.
One thing I have learned is that if you have an area that has confetti (lots of different colors together) in it use a bigger try like cookie sheet or something to hold multiple trays of colors at one so you do not have to keep changing colors so often.
That is a great tip, Hannah! :)
When working with a clear adhesive cover paper, I lightly score the clear adhesive in smaller sections. That way who don't have to remove large sections of the protective cover all at once.
That is a great idea! :)
Thank you for the tips I'm just getting started, my adult daughter loves diamond painting and gave me two kits a few weeks ago, I'm disabled after a stroke she thought that I would enjoy the diamond painting hoping to help me have something to interest me and help with the long hours of sitting doing nothing faith my timeI'm excited about getting started!
Hi, Jane!! That is wonderful! Welcome to this very relaxing hobby. I hope you really enjoy it! ❤️
The one thing as an experienced dp'er I have learned is something for the new diamond painters. Start slow. Everything you need to do a diamond painting is included in the kit. Make sure this is a hobby you REALLY want to do, in the long term. Except for a light board, don't go out and buy everything you see or hear about for diamond painting right away. Make sure you really want to make it a long term hobby, before you invest a lot of money into all the accessories. I have had people sell me boxes full of dp stuff, because they weren't as interested as they thought.
Tina Johnson Those are great points! I find that all must haves at first were minimally expensive, just my easel and light pad. Part of the joy for me has been collecting over time when things really speak to me. 🥰 Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom!
It's so so true if you have to get something outside of the pad is a small cheap organizer for the drills
@@Thenekkedgamer I bought a diamond kit from DIY 5D diamond painting and the drills were organised in little baggys for you,you can just line them up in an old butter container, until you know whether your going to stay with the hobby or not
@@mandyb6422 that's awesome! Most of the shops I order from like dac have them in those little 200 packets
I started my first one a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Most of the stuff I had before hand since I'm really into art. I already had a light board and a box to put stuff in (I was planning to paint it and still am). I have a paint palette to put multiple colours of drills (ones with dips in lol). The only thing I have bought for the paintings are the actual canvases and some more tools. So even is I end up not being so into it, it's really not that big of a deal.
I have only been diamond painting for about 3 weeks and have made the mistake of unknowingly ordering a few paintings that weren't licensed. A good friend of mine is an artist and I asked if I could get a custom of one of his pieces of art, after that I just couldn't imagine not having the artists permission to use their work. Thank you for supporting artists and using your platform to spread the message. ❤
Clarissa Mitchell Thanks, Clarissa! I appreciate your encouragement and your ethics! ❤️
Same, just last night I ordered some really cheap ones (£3) with £7 shipping. On Amazon my first one was £7-£8 soooooo yeah
Rowan Brierley I started the same way. The important thing is always what we do next time I think. ❤️
I wish I would have known how much my dog would love the little diamond jewels 😂 she’s always sniffing them when I put them in the tray and they get stuck to her nose!😂
Madison Mae 🤣🤣🤣
That is so cute
@@scarecrowjones1 Nosy little girl she is!!
That's too cute😂
I really enjoyed watching your video and thank you for the information you imparted to us. I haven’t done this craft but now, I think I’m going to do it.
I've only done clear covers but I love that i can see where colors are. For small canvases, I finish one color before going to the next color
Jessi on the Go That is an awesome perk for sure! 😀🥰
Thank you thank you thank you for these tips!! I have a couple diamond painting kits but haven't actually started doing them yet and I'm soOo glad I found out about all of these super helpful tips first! 🤗🙂
Hi there! My pleasure! I am so glad you found the video helpful. That makes my day! :)
I have never done a diamond painting, but thanks for the tips!
Hi, I enjoyed your video. I purchased my very first dp and waiting for it arrive. I am trying to learn as much as I can so I can start and enjoy doing it. Thank you for all the videos and thank you for all your followers that are also willing to help newbies.
Candace Vermette You are very welcome, Candace!! Welcome to our great hobby!
Thank you for this smart video lots of info I wish I had known about containers before I spent money on the cheap ones now I have the good ones
alexisbee47 Thanks, Alexis!! That is a great suggestion!
Thank you so much for this info! I'm new to diamond painting, just started my first one (gifted to me) and I'm already hooked! Now I know what to look for and where to look to satisfy my new obsession!
My pleasure, Miss Aaylah! Welcome to this addictive hobby! :)
I really appreciate your suggestions on getting comfortable such as table and exercise tips and also the light pad. I never knew that adhesive will rise making the drill look lifted so that was a good tip with the little knife.
I am so glad the video was helpful! Thanks for checking it out! :)
Thank you. I’m on my first diamond painting and your videos are very helpful. 👍🥰
My pleasure!! I am so glad this was helpful for you. Best of luck with your first painting! :)
Thanks so much. I just finished by third diamond painting o I am fairly new to this craft. I am so enjoying it . I am so glad I founf your video today it is so helpful. The one thing that really bothered me was about artisdt painting. I had no idea to look out for whether they were being used legally or not. Learned a whole lot more but that was one that really touched me. Thanks so much. I will continue to watch you.
Thanks so much, Pamela! Welcome to this wonderful hobby! You are definitely not alone in regard to the copyright issue. I had no idea when I first started and purchased so many canvases I now regret. :( But all we can do is make different choices once we're informed and move onward and upward, right? Thanks for your kind words, and a warm welcome to you!
I just wanted to commend you on your videos. You have the most warm, friendly, calm, voice I have ever listened to. I also love the way you do your closing send off :) you are a treasure in the world of diamonds
Oh my goodness, Kim!! That is so kind! You made my whole day!! 🥰
Save the paper from the canvases that you have finished, cut into squares they’re just right for the job. At least then you know it will release easily and not stick to the canvas.
Terry Evans Great idea!! I always tell myself I’m going to save my paper, and then I cut it like a kindergartener and I end up tossing it! 😂
okay yay! i was hoping that i could do this and it would work so i’m glad to hear it will
I just started my first Diamond painting. I decided to watch a few videos. Thank you for the information you shared, I’ll be making less mistakes!
Marcie Nicols Hi, Marcie!! My pleasure! I am so glad this was helpful!
Just got my first one! Thanks for all the wonderful tips!
My pleasure, Cindy! Best of luck with your painting! :)
Thanks for the tips. Especially that last one because I'm always looking at sites for new diamond paintings and I've never even thought that they might be stolen images or art. I'm all about giving credit to the artist because I know how hard they work to create their masterpieces and I have so much respect for their talent. I'll be sure to check from now on to see that I'm not buying stolen art .
Amanda Lambert Thanks so much, Amanda!! I am so grateful for people like you! ❤️
Thank you for your video! Great tips, I’d wish I’d known about. As my neck was my killer, and not having a good working space. Thank you! 🙋🏾♀️
Thanks so much, Unaisi! I am so glad the video was helpful to you! :)
Great tips, glad I'm doing a little research before I get a painting. You make it look easy
Thank you, Rose! It is a super easy and fun craft. :) The biggest pitfall generally is the prevalence of stolen artwork imported from China, but buying from reputable sellers largely eliminates that problem, along with many of the quality issues that accompany many of those companies. I'm so glad you found our little tribe! :)
I am new to this and never even thought about copyright! Thank you so much for this info. I have only purchased two paintings thus far but will be sure to look into this further. Great info you shared here!
Thanks so much, PJ! I appreciate your openness to this information. People like you are what make this craft so awesome and supportive of artists!
I really liked this and Her attitude and personality are great. I have not started my first one yet, watching a lot of these first and really like this one and her manner
Thanks so much, Laurie! I really appreciate that! 😀
Thank you so much for sharing this information. It was very helpful and informative.
Keep well.

Tracey Landt Thanks so much! I am so glad it was helpful!
I have watched many tutorials on diamond painting since I completed my first project and waiting for my second project to arrive. I was a little late to the party. I had never even heard of this craft until 2 weeks ago and came across a booth at a craft show. Yours is one of the best I've watched! Your voice is very calming and easy to understand. Your focus is on the tutorial and not on yourself. I had seen many of your tips in other videos, EXCEPT the copyright one! That's VERY important to me as well and now I will be checking! Thank you for taking your time to share valuable information with all of us!
Hi, Diane!! Thanks so much - that is so kind that it made my whole day! I am so pleased you found the video helpful! :)
OMG thanks so much for this video, and your other one that talks about Super Gloss Mod Podge and wiping the surface!!!!
My pleasure! I’m so glad you enjoyed! 😀
I watched several dp videos b4 starting. That way I knew what I was in for. Another hint I learned: if the dp is small (25cm x 25 cm) go w/round drills. But the thing that helped a bunch is a chart that I made showing centimeters to inches. Did it by 5's (5cms, 10 cms etc.) So I could envision how big it it would be. Now I automatically order 45cm & up. I have a 50cm x 70 (75?) cm to do. Plus I do squares cuz I love detail. Some only came in round drills though. From CZcams I learned how to convert pens into dp pens.So to sum up, I adapted some things for doing dp, the rest I got from Dollar Tree. You do not have to buy everything and you don't have to buy it all at once🤩
Great tips! And you're right! We don't always have to have the brightest, shiniest, newest, trendiest gadgets. There is a lot of joy in creating and adapting things on our own. :)
In my opinion its in small canvases even more important to choose square if you want even a few details...
Hi, super important information. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Coral Gonzalez Thanks, Coral!! Please take care of yourself too!
What a wonderful video! Thank you so much.
Virginia Sanders Cole Thanks so much! 😀
I just started doing Dimond paintings. Doing my first one. Love it so far. It's so relaxing.
I am so glad you are enjoying yourself, Rebecca!! I find it to be such a zen activity as well. It has really helped to save my sanity during Covid. (I love your username by the way!!) :)
thank you for pointing out art theft! I am literally doing my very first piece as I watch you and you are the first out of many youtubers to cover this!!! so important! so thank you!

Awesome...you´re SO patient putting in all those little pieces - big respect :-)))
brennerfineart Thanks!! 😂 It is a nutty hobby really! 😀
Great tips! I used to be intimidated by the square and u have to line them up perfectly
Thank you! They can be hard at first, but now I sometimes think they're a little easier to get straight than rounds! :)
thank you for the info, i just found this diamond paintings and i ordered 1 then i get hooked on doing it and ordered a lot more design.. while searching on youtube i found your video,, it helps me a lot.. thank you.
I am so glad it was helpful!! Happy diamond painting! 😀
I am in Canada and would like to start diamond painting. Can you recommend a good reliable site to order from . Thanks for you help inadvance
Thank you for this very beneficial video!! Even though I have been doing this almost two years, I found it helpful. My first DP was a Diamond Dotz, so I was lucky with the quality. I then began to research for as much information as I could find. I was lucky in my research and probably missed out on mistakes I could have made. Thank goodness for wonderful people like you who are willing to give your time to help others. Thank you Jessica, you are a true gem in the Diamond Painting world.
Lori Willits Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! It is wonderful people like you that make my channel so much fun! I am glad you enjoyed the video, and I look forward to seeing you here again. 😀
Do you have a suggestion on a certain board for lighting or a table for crafting? I just started doing this a couple of weeks ago and I find it very calming but it does take a little bit of organization and the table I'm working on it isn't the best and I don't wanna put it all over my kitchen table. What do you think?
Oh wow.. I luved all your tips.. I never thought that I would get hooked... You have left me more knowledgeable about diamond painting.
Thanks so much, Christine! It really is addicting, isn't it? I didn't really expect to love it so much when I started either! :)
I just started diamond painting 2 days ago and I love it. I got a stitch diamond painting. It is going to look amazing when it is finished.
Awww, welcome to this fun hobby, Beth!! I am so excited that you're having a great time! We're all addicted here 😉, and so it's fun to welcome new friends to our community!!
All your tips where helpful because I'm just starting in this craft. I bought a kit and it came with out any instuctions. So I'm kind of learning by looking at a few videos on youtube. Thanks for your tips.
My pleasure, Paul! Welcome to this fun hobby! :)
Thank you!! Moving forward I will check to see if the paintings are licensed. I never thought about that. I have a bunch of them from Temu so who knows! Thanks for the video!
Just ordered one! I’m so excited :)
I am excited for you! Wishing you the best of luck with it! :)
I was just going to order some paintings and this video really helped me you deserve a like AND subscribe also stay safe!!
Thanks! You too.
Thank you for your response! I've finished one and almost done with the other, so framing is right around the corner. Here goes nothing! :))
Framing! I’d love to know more about how you do that and how a diamond painting looks after it is framed!

Thank you so much for this video! I realize there are so many things i didn't know about diamond painting, and I have been diamond painting for over a year! lol I don't consider myself an expert in any means, but i do know the basics. So thank you so much for this informative video :)
Thanks for checking it out! There are always things to learn no matter how long we craft - I'm definitely still learning myself! So grateful for our awesome CZcams community! :)
Thank you for your tips. As a beginner I appreciate it very much.
Thanks for checking out the video, Alina! I am so glad you enjoyed it. :)
Really good tips! I’ve tried diamond art once (a friend had a bunch and generously gave me one to try out) and I’m planning on starting it as a new hobby because it helps my head relax from constant thoughts (ADHD). Your videos have given me better insight on what to try next and I’m currently saving up to order one along with a pen and a small tray :) can’t wait to try it again! Keep up the great videos!
That’s so exciting, Delta!! Welcome to this fun hobby!! 😀
@@tinyworldsofwonder thank you!
I have ADHD, too, and diamond painting helps me tremendously!
I wish I hadn't spent so much $$ on different ways to store my diamonds. Small zip lock bags work great.
You can get boxes that hold 28 colors for $5 on Amazon
I will Start my very first diamond painting and this video was really helpfull to me. Thanks. 🇲🇽
That is wonderful! I am so pleased! ☺️
thank you for this, getting mine sooon 🧡💛
Exciting! I hope you have a blast! :)
I personally really appreciate your soapbox. Keep it up! This advice is so helpful even just generally when considering image copyright. Thank you ♡ (and on a side note, learning about public domain and Creative Commons is very interesting and important!)
bonepeonies Thanks so much! I find it fascinating too! 😀
I do too...what was that list of suppliers
What are creative commons?
This was a great video! It inspired me to make my first WIP n Chat. Thank you!
Hooray!!! I will have to head over and check out your channel!! :) I hope you're having a blast with it!
Very new to this. Researching everything. What does WIP stand for?
Just received my first project. Found your tips very informative. Wish me luck....lol. Thanks for the info.
That is so exciting! I am so glad this video is helping you on your journey. Have a blast with your first project!!
THANK YOU for this video :) I had long wondered if this might be a nice hobby for my 95yo grandmother whom is very creative...however upon watching your video I know these intricate designs would be quite difficult for her.
HOWEVER! I DID Find some small cartoon animal ones for kids on Amazon and ordered them for us to try together :) She may enjoy trying it or at the very least seeing them being done if she can't manage. :)
CannaClarawrr Aww, that's amazing!! Great idea to look into those first! She may also enjoy some of the special drill mandalas or bookmarks that have slightly larger gems. I hope you have a blast!
Ty for the tip on getting the glue flat, I just did my first painting and it came ok for my first one but I definitely was a lil disappointed when I seen it wasn’t as sparkly as it could be and than I realized that was the issue lol.
Oh shoot, Jackie! I have had the same experience for sure. I have two big canvases with big ripples in them because I didn't know at first to flatten them. :( I'm glad the video was helpful!
Thank you for these tips! My first kit is arriving on Wednesday. It's from a reputable cross-stitch company that has made some of its kits available as diamond paintings (and, as you pointed out, the name of the artist is on the webpage) That's maybe another source to to consider, and a cross-stitch or needlepoint pattern is already designed to look good at a small size, unlike a photograph converted into a chart. I've been dismayed at some of the total rip-offs of art that I've seen online. My kit has square drills so I'm going to watch your placement video next :-)
Ooh, fun!! Yes, for sure! Thank you!
Thanks for your informative guidance,I have now completed my first medium sized canvas after you came up in my feed,I would never have tried this hobby if it wasn’t for your encouragement and advice, now I’m hooked ( not only on crouching) ,thanks for reminding us all to check out the copyrights on our canvas ,I’m sorry to say I didn’t check as I bought in eagerness from Amazon,This hobby is saving my mental health during this horrible epidermic as I’m sure it is for many of us ,I’ve encouraged the least likely friends to check your channel out to start their journey in diamond art ..It’s very positive to mention taking breaks and in my case I can’t leave the house so I jog in the house and try to run up and down the stairs 🤪keep safe to you and all your subscribers 🙏🏽😷

If using parchment paper make sure you get the double sided parchment paper. Then you won't have to worry which side to put down on your painting. Thanks for the list of stores. I only knew for 3 on your list. Will check out the others.
Louise Smith Great tip, Louise! Thanks for sharing!
Hi, I just did my first diamond painting last night and havre one more to do. Today, I began Googling info and came across this video. OMG! Thank you for the list of where to buy and most of all about the Number Seven tip. So good to know this before I invest my $$$ on canvases. I would venture to say that since I got both my prints thru a site last summer for really cheap, they are copyrighted and are not legal. Oops! I just know the larger image is one I’ve seen all over the internet so never gave a thought to copyright issues. Now I know that I enjoy this craft, I will look for authentic canvases which list the author, from the sites you listed. Again Thank you for this video. I just got my small light board and only need to invest in the artist table. Which I can use for all my card making projects also.👌🏻❤️💜👏🏻🌷
Hi, Kathlene! Welcome to the addiction - it is great to have you! We all have a few of these oopsies in the beginning (I know I did!), but all we can do is our best, and I love having ethical people like you on the channel! :) I wish you all the best with your diamond paintings!
Thank you for this! I'm new and working on my first.. I do have neck issues and already my upper back is aching..need an easel! 😊 I've subscribed👍👍
Thanks, Susan!! An easel may help quite a bit! :) I'm sorry for your pain. I find I have to adjust the angle frequently and break up my sessions to be sure I don't get too stiff. :)
I couldn’t live without my easel! I don’t use a light pad but I have a goose necked Ott light clamped to the top of my easel. Works great. ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for the video~ Although I have been painting fora couple years... you have great ideas~
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. :)
I just started my first painting. Getting the air out of any wrinkles in adhesive will be invaluable as I bought a couple of cheaper paintings from Amazon that came folded in half or thirds. This tip will save me much hassle and frustration I’m sure. Wonderful video and new subscriber!
I'm so glad this was helpful to you! :) Thank you!!
I just started diamond painting and it’s so relaxing! Could you talk more about the rendering software and how to make your own custom diamond painting? Also the best places to buy the individual drills etc - for your custom paintings. I really want to try to do my own painting - but I don’t know how to begin. Thank you so much.
Thank you for supporting artists by using licensed work. Throughout the crafting industry, many undermine artists and designers by purchasing “cheaper” products. We all like a great buy, but not at the expense of artists or designers that are the backbone of the industry. Thank you for your ethical stance.
R Fatimah Jafri Thank you!! I agree - it’s often appealing to buy cheaper, but you get what you pay for, and the artist often gets nothing. 😢 Thanks for your ethical stance as well! 😀
This is so helpful, thank you! I'm new to diamond painting after seeing a pic one of my friends sent me and felt a new hobby would be perfect since staying safe at home. Just finished my first and have another coming this month. I ordered from Staroar and believe her products fit your recommendations. My budget is extremely limited but these will be Christmas or birthday gifts so I can justify to myself buying them, lol. :)
DDA Secretary Thanks so much!! Welcome to the addiction! I haven't been able to get a response from Lucy at Staroar, but I have heard good things. 😀 I am so glad you found diamond painting!
I just ordered some diamond paintings after watching your videos, thanks for the tips!!!
That is wonderful, Marta! I hope you have a wonderful time with your projects!
I learned so much from watching this video.. Thank you for sharing.
I am so glad, Angie!! That makes my day. 🥰 Thanks for hanging out!
I LOVED this video! I am working on my very first Diamond Painting and I'm hooked - EXCEPT for the fact that I can only do a small bit of "painting" before I am in terrible pain. I never thought about getting an adjustable easel or drafting table and how it would help with that issue! I was so excited about this new hobby that I bought five other kits - which I wasn't going to be able to use because of the pain factor. So THANK YOU for that excellent tip! I ALSO was very interested in hearing about the different glues which come on the kits. I was wondering if you seal your finished projects? I watched a couple of videos about sealing before I saw your "7 Hints" video. And finally - thank you for pointing about the licensing issues. It is something that hadn't occurred to me, and I will keep my eyes open from this point forward!
Hi, Nancy!! I am so glad this was helpful! I had terrible neck issues before I started using my easel, so I hope this helps you! :) I still have to alter the angle regularly and make sure I can rest my elbows on the table, but it has really helped. :) If I'm doing canvases from really reputable companies I typically don't seal. I usually save sealing for canvases I'm not positive will hold up well. :) Thanks for hanging out!
Thanks so much for the information. I have been doing Diamond Painting for about a year and I love it. The main thing I wish I had known about in the beginning was the square and round drill thing. I started out with a square drill image and had a lot of trouble getting the diamonds aligned. I was so irritated with how they were turning out that I threw the entire canvas and all the drills away. I did not have a light pad at the time and that might have made a difference, I don't know. I have only done round drills since that time. I just got a really big kit to work on for my daughter for Yule this December and it is large enough it will probably take that long. As an artist, I also am very aware of how many kits use pirated art. I don't like it either. I have a glass topped drafting table and that helps immensely. I was looking for a tutorial that shows how to put the washi tape on the edges. This kit I got is 24 x 32 inches. All the other kits I have done up until now have been 11 x 15 inches and I did not have washi tape but the Craftibly kit I got came with it. I have had some issues with stickiness on the edges of the other kits where the adhesive has gotten onto the edges of the canvas. I wanted to see if there was a simple way of laying down the washi tape so that it is not crookedly placed. I don't do straight edges really well. :)
Hi, Lea! You're right, the square vs. round thing is huge! I hope you enjoy your big new kit! :) I enjoyed reading your tips! When I'm laying tape on the edges, I like to go an inch or two at a time because I'm not great at straight edges either! 😀
Great tips, I just subscribed as I am waiting for my first painting to arrive, (Victoriasmoon, square, 70 x 110), oh? dear, I spotted your Arab painting, must finish first one lol
Andrea Dimmick Welcome, Andrea!! That is quite a project! I hope you have a great time with it!
Thank you for the info. I just started diamond painting.
My pleasure! That is so exciting! Welcome to this fun hobby!!
Lol. I wish I knew all 7! Thanks for making my first video with you so educational. Subscriber!!!
Hi, Lisa! Thanks so much for your encouraging words! Extending a big welcome to you! :)
Being the victim of copy infringement of my own artistic designs, I research products to avoid infringing on others. That's exactly what brought me to your video. I'm very confused why, on the original Paint By Diamonds website, there's a canvas called 'Golden Flowers' which is very clearly stamped 'Zhui Star' and that same image is on many other dp websites titled differently. I'm just too dang excited to start diamond painting & I know I'll love it! I really appreciate your informative video, along with others I've viewed to research the craft before beginning. Literally my only holdup till now is finding quality non-infringing products.
Hi, Riki! I am sad to hear you've been the victim of this too. There are a handful of diamond painting manufacturers that produce the vast majority of canvases and then distributors sell them all over the world under various names. Because these images are overwhelmingly unlicensed, multiple manufacturers may use the same image and multiple resellers may end up calling it whatever they wish. Never an attribution to the artist or an acknowledgment of the license in the case of stock art. It is so frustrating! If you're looking for a place to start with quality, licensed images, Diamond Art Club, DIY Moon Shop, Treasure Studios Art are among my favorites. I hope that helps! :)
I usually use an exacto knife to cut out areas in the plastic cover
I just bought my first kit. thanks for the tips.
I hope it is going awesome!! :)
In a way, 7 is actually how I found out about diamond art club. An artist I follow shared that they were having their art made into kits with them 😁
After mentioning the fakes
That makes total sense, although it's sadly so common. I'm so glad there are companies out there who deal with artists in an ethical way. 🥰
Thank you. Really a good video.
connie cruz Thanks, Connie!
Very helpful❤️
I wish I had known about the difference between the glues on the 5D painting.
This is my first viewing of your videos. I love it and I have subscribed!! Thank you
Bev Mullin Thanks so much!! Welcome!!!
Before watching this I'd just actually ordered two pens from Jim!! ♡ I can't wait for them to come in! 😊
So exciting!!!!
You were so helpful.
thanks for the tips
Thank you for the information.
My pleasure!! I’m so glad it was helpful! 🥰
Thank you for the tips now I know I will be watching this video again
Thanks, Valerie! I am so glad you found it helpful!
I didn’t know that size was something to consider... I bought a 15 by 20 , I wish I bought something bigger but this will be my first time so lesson learned
Shoot, that's disappointing! We all have to start somewhere though, right? I also did a few of these small ones when I first started out. :)
I wish I had known how long it took to place drills. I am a patient person but it took me a long time to do a small section. The pic had figures in it and I stopped working on it. Just resumed work on it. Plus I wished I had gotten pix w/broad areas of color. Looking at my stash, I see that I picked ones that were interesting or "pretty." Totally disregarded the confetti lolol. But now I know what to look for and can be prepared. LUV 💎 painting 😍
M. Elaine Bates So true! The confetti game is real! I love it but I totally understand why it’s frustratingly slow. 😀
Thank you for the tips
My pleasure. Thanks for checking out the video! :)
I just started doing diamond paintings. I take my canvas to my bathroom and use my blow dryer on the canvas to heat it up to level up the adhesive before I start. I don't know if it's good or bad but it did help to flatten out the canvas from being rolled up. Please tell me if I shouldn't do this.
Deanne Angus I’m not sure! :) Heat does effect adhesive, but I don’t know if a hair dryer is hot enough to do damage or not. That is certainly an intriguing idea!!
I recommend that new dpers go back and watch videos. I watched every video that I could find before I made a purchase, of course back then, there were a lot of informative videos not just unboxings, but you can learn so much, even from unboxings If you listen.
Claudette Jones That is great advice! There are creators with so much wisdom to offer in our community. I learned so much from Ella at Kickin' Cancers Butt and Diamond Painting when I started. She is a fount of wisdom! 😀
I watch as many videos as I can on diamond painting it helps tremendously I can’t wait to get my first painting in the mail, super excited
Wonderful video now you need to show a demonstration on how thread bare works
Bought my first dp from walmart just before Easter- partial of tiger head - as a try out - $10 -- took many hours - also finished just before Easter -- liked so much, bought another partial from Walmart- a kitten, finished on Easter day. Had ordered deal from Diamond Art Club before I had started either.
Sooo addicting--just ONE MORE COLOR, then I'll stop-lol 😆
Granddaughter (29 yo.) watched for a few minutes, said she wouldn't have patience for it, I found it exciting!
Can't wait to start another, but definitely will buy easel and light pad first !!🙄🤗😽
Appreciated tips u offered. Diamond suggested doing all same color first, also using a dryer sheet in drill box (will definitely try this) to cut static-- that drove me crazier than I seem to be already !!😂🤗😽
Kat Bunn It is sooo addicting!!! I hope you have endless hours of fun!! 😀
@@tinyworldsofwonder thanks, I'm very much looking forward to this !!😃
