I loved all three of these white dresses you showed us today. Like you I haven't worn a white dress since my Disco dancing days in my 20's. However, last Summer I bought a very similar one to your Target dress at Targets, but I I never got the chance to wear it because of the Covid lock-down in Massachusetts. Last night we finally went out to eat (we are both fully vaccinated), it was wonderful. So now, I will bring out that Target white dress, throw on a denim jacket and some fun jewelry and go forth enjoying the look. How wonderful, you are so tall. Lucky you.

Lovely choices and styling ideas, thanks Kay. I wear white a lot, in cotton and linen, not only can they be washed, they can be chlorine-bleached in case of disaster. Of course, I only do this if the only way to save a garment. Washing in warm water with BIZ, pre-treating if necessary, is usually enough to keep everything very clean and white. I consider white to be a practical color; I do exercise reasonable care when wearing it, but don’t treat it as precious, like I do white silk🙂

You are so correct! Last two times I wore my little white dresses! I made a white cotton off the shoulder eyelet gown , with ruffle shirt , that i sewed for my senior my prom ! Cut it down to just above the knee for graduation! Then when I was 31 I wore another fun sleeve less dress that matched my daughter ( who was 13 at the time ! And now you are making me want to order one for this year! :)

I doubt we have it here locally at our Dillard’s, especially in my size. I’m quite petite, so torn between the 2 and the 4. It’s so beautiful!
I actually am wearing a 10 whereas I normally wear an 8. The 8 fit bit was just a bit snug in the arms. So I went with the 10. So I think it runs true to size as long as you don’t have large upper arms like I do. 😉

I love white dresses! I had one years ago and wore it all the time. It was mid casual and I wore it with turquoise jewelry, pearls, etc. So many different ways to wear these dresses. The ones you showed are so cute!
All three featured dresses are beauties. I have worn white dresses on special occasions, and a white eyelet dress for my junior high graduation. Now, my go-to would be #2, the more casual shift dress, though I have something similar to #1 in lavender. Dress #3 is fun and you look happy wearing it. Bring on the summer sunshine!
Several years ago I had a white dress I accented with a pink and coral scarf tied at the waist. I received so many compliments! Wish it still fit😕. Love the ideas you presented 😊

I love white dresses, but it’s been tough to find ones that suit my age, 61, so not too girlish, and are comfortable and breathable. I found a great cotton knit one at Zara last month, it’s very simple and almost perfect, I just wish it had a bit of a sleeve. My upper arms don’t look good anymore.

H&M has a lovely, affordable white linen wrap/scarf. I love it to keep the hot sun off my chest and shoulders without overheating me on hot days, like at a summer outdoor wedding.
I've just bought three white summer dresses, one midi and two minis (but not micro mini). All three are sleeveless, have a defined waist, and have fabrics that are distinctly feminine with only one that has a soft ruffle at the top. They can all be dressed up or worn casually, especially on those sweltering summer days. I can't tolerate air conditioning so I always carry a pastel coloured cardigan (cropped with long or short sleeves). They add that little touch of colour to all white and protect me from cold interiors.
Hi Kay, you looked lovely in all three but I loved 2 + 3 on you + the third with the denim jacket looked stunning! Good purchase! Why do we question if it is too young for us? The last time I wore a white dress I was dating my soon to be husband (51 years now). We went out to a nice dinner and somehow I dumped the butter from my lobster down the front and dropped strawberry cheesecake in my lap. I had used my napkin to mop up the butter so my lap was open and clear. I gave a new meaning to “the walk of shame” when I walked out if that very fancy restaurant!

Your first dress is lovely! I really like a white dress, but I try to steer away from stark white around my face. It washes me out, but I did pick up a sweet, white eyelet skirt that is lined (yay) that works well for me with a colored top.

I did indeed wear a white camisole under the white shirt but that’s because I actually wanted it to show. It made me look naked when I tried a nude one. But that’s because it’s a very, very sheer blouse. But I wore nude undergarments with all the dresses.

I have a white dress with lining. However since the lining is polyester, it makes this dress an unpractical item in a hot summer. When the weather gets cooler in fall or winter,wearing a white dress looks too bright for me. Should I remove the lining?

Hi Beth. I’m not sure I have any wisdom to share there. It happens to me some too. But I do find that a lot of it has to do with what I’m wearing underneath. I just make sure I’m not wearing something equally silky underneath. I usually opt for linen or cotton tops under the silk kimonos. I hope you enjoy it!

I love a white dress but being a blonde with fair skin can wash me out so I usually add a pop of color. Be it a pin or hat that has a little color can help. Any accessory for that fact.

The last time I wore a white dress I was dating my soon to be husband (51 years now). We went out to a nice dinner and somehow I dumped the butter from my lobster down the front and dropped strawberry cheesecake in my lap. I had used my napkin to mop up the butter so my lap was open and clear. I gave a new meaning to “the walk of shame” when I walked out if that very fancy restaurant!

Your first dress is lovely! I really like a white dress, but I try to steer away from stark white around my face. It washes me out, but I did pick up a sweet, white eyelet skirt that is lined (yay) that works well for me with a colored top.

I did indeed wear a white camisole under the white shirt but that’s because I actually wanted it to show. It made me look naked when I tried a nude one. But that’s because it’s a very, very sheer blouse. But I wore nude undergarments with all the dresses.

Oh no this one definitely will not turn you orange. Just apply it light layers and follow the directions. You’ll get great results. 😊

I have a white dress with lining. However since the lining is polyester, it makes this dress an unpractical item in a hot summer. When the weather gets cooler in fall or winter,wearing a white dress looks too bright for me. Should I remove the lining?

Hi Beth. I’m not sure I have any wisdom to share there. It happens to me some too. But I do find that a lot of it has to do with what I’m wearing underneath. I just make sure I’m not wearing something equally silky underneath. I usually opt for linen or cotton tops under the silk kimonos. I hope you enjoy it!

I love a white dress but being a blonde with fair skin can wash me out so I usually add a pop of color. Be it a pin or hat that has a little color can help. Any accessory for that fact.

I would say to wear a white dress at a wedding might not be quite right - unless , of course , you are the bride .
