  • Here's some Data East Star Wars pinball gameplay, with a short verbal introduction talking about the basic shots and rules of the table. It should be noted that this gameplay was taken with one of the original ROMs, not the modern fan re-write.
A brief summary of the two games played:
Game 1: Mostly center ramp shots. Experience first-hand how broken this feature is!
Game 2: Mostly multi-ball (or "Tri-Ball", as the game dubs it). Experience why you shouldn't clean a game you're used to playing dirty just prior to recording! ;)
Thanks again to eStarland for allowing me to come in and record gameplay of this machine! Visit them at: www.estarland.com

Really great and in depth tutorial! Found one of these while on vacation in Boise, ID and having never played it before I came looking for a rundown. Usually Bowen and PAPA have helpful vids, but I have to admit that your breakdown of each ramp, scoop, loop, drop-target, etc. with close-ups is my new favorite! Subscribed!

Holy crap! 3.7B high score? That's impressive...I never broke 400M and I spent a lot of time playing this machine. This is my favorite pinball machine of all time, so many fond memories.

Don't forget to throw down the handle and push the launch button when the 6th death star light is lit

I have this machine and that ramp is cool but I never play for the score or at least rarely. I have the newer ROM and it does make a difference. Too bad the cantina song wasn't used more.

Is there any reason why you would hit the right flipper button when the ball is droping into the inlane?

Habit I suppose. Although, in games with repeatable shots (like the center ramp in Star Wars, or the upper loop/ramp in Doctor Who), for some people it helps to keep them in the rhythm by flipping at certain points even when the ball isn't actually at the flipper.

I lol'd at the match feature: so rigged, even the chance is less than ten percent for an extra game.

Is there a pinball gameplay reason or trick for all this flippers hits without hitting the ball, or is it just a players' repetitive nervous twitch he can't stop ?

+80sPhoenix When I need to make repetitive shots, it often helps me to flip at certain intervals to keep my shots accurate. Think of it like recording music, except I'm making my own "click track" to keep me "on time". As far as other random flips, I used to flip to the music or to something in my head for fun, haha.. however, this video was originally made in 2013 and I don't really do that anymore.
