I know...I thought 1st !! And I was excited to visit there ...my short lived excitement over that beautiful park !! Only to find out those pretty deer's sad fate !!! They get hunted down !! I am not going there anymore !! 💔 A heartbreaking discovery !!

@@spark_6710 Please may I respectfully make a correction: it is essential to carry out a humane cull every year to maintain the size and health of the deer herd. Richmond Park is recognised by animal husbandry experts as the supreme example of healthy deer management. That is why the deer in this excellent video are all in beautiful condition. At that time of year the male deer are eating to gain body weight before the annual rut during October, when they do not eat for nearly 2 months while most stags are guarding their own ‘harem’ against rivals! Please read a recent book “Park Life”, an autobiography by a retired lifetime Park ranger.

This would be late Summer 2020, still in the Pandemic. The public roads in Richmond Park were temporarily closed to motor traffic, so people could walk along them and enjoy the sunshine, albeit with‘social distancing’. The light sandy coloured pathway runs right round the Park, separate from the road, for cyclists and walkers. It is called the Tamsin Trail. There are 700 head of deer in the Park, in the wild but very carefully managed by the Park authorities. All fallen timber is left in place as a habitat for many rare insects including the Stag Beetle. Richmond Park is the largest of London’s Royal Parks. Residences within the Park include the home of an English Princess, and also the Royal Ballet School.

I was planning to visit there with mom the next year ...,but no thanks to that after finding out people are sending those beautiful deer to get hunted !! So -- disturbing & sad 😥 & disappointing !!! 😞
Hunters often claim that they can keep the nature & animal's populations in control !! What a big lie !!! They often imbalance the nature & populations & push species to extinctions !!! I guess we're so superior that never learn the lessons !!? Very disturbing & sad ,indeed !! 💔

Was this at the Weekend? During the week; ain't nobody there except the regular dog walkers. Please keep your dog under Control, seen a fawn flushed out by 2 spaniels & a woman carrying a baby in front hammock walking towards the wood where the females take their young & she had 2 dogs on the loose. If the deer Stampede she could not run fast enough. We've had to stand behind trees to avoid being trampled when a loose terrier chased a herd. A child wouldn't stand a chance. Deer are chased into the roads too. And look out for Deer Dung! It might be black droplets or big grassy lumps.
