  • Mason GREENWOOD is a BARCELONA' PLAYER đŸ˜± So, what it will be? | WHAT IF
Remember Mason Greenwood? What do you think of the news that he might return to the "big stage" by moving to Barcelona despite all the controversy surrounding his persona? The Spanish press has recently exploded with similar headlines, so we decided to look into the future and tell you what will happen once Greenwood arrives at Camp Nou!
Sit back, subscribe and enjoy watching, as we are about to begin!
Greenwood at Barcelona: where did it come from?
Over the past few weeks, the media has been eagerly linking Barcelona with the signing of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who is enjoying his loan spell at Getafe this season. These rumours were fueled by a video showing Barça sporting director Deco meeting with his United counterpart John Murtough and head of negotiations Matt Hargreaves.
Greenwood's contract with the Red Devils runs until 2025, though the club still plans to offload one of their most talented academy graduates in order to avoid reputational pressure from their own fan base, which has refused to take him back amid all the allegations, investigations and trials .
Well, this is not the way Barcelona sees Greenwood's story - they instead see it as an opportunity to bolster their squad with a very promising performer. And that's why this deal can be a win-win for everyone!
Friends, please leave us a like if you want to see Mason in a Blaugrana jersey, while we get things started!
    Greenwood to start from scratch
18 months - that's how long Mason Greenwood spent away from football from the moment of arrest until the court found him not guilty. Is it possible to return to your former level after such a gap and how many players do you know who have managed to succeed at it? Greenwood was considered a lost cause in England, yet he found his old self outside the Premier League.
In September 2023, the striker went on loan to Getafe and is now having a great season there! In 26 appearances across all competitions, Greenwood has scored 8 goals and delivered 5 assists, with his team finally improving after fighting for survival in three consecutive seasons and feeling confident in the middle of the La Liga standings, 13 points clear of the bottom three.
Getafe and Greenwood had a 100% match! Here, no one reminds him of his mistakes from the past. Here he can be accepted and adored! On the very first day of his arrival at Getafe, the audience on the Azulones' English Twitter account grew 400 times - from 100 to 40 thousand followers, and sales of shirts with Mason's surname on them broke all club records! Soon after, a special open training session was arranged for him, which was attended by more than five thousand fans. They cheered, asked the newcomer for photos and autographs, and even chased his car through the streets! Getafe's head of SMM department aptly described all this excitement as "The MasonMANIA".
Unfortunately, a mid-table club can only keep such a gifted player for as long as they are allowed to. President Angel Torres admits that Barcelona would be an even better fit for Mason:
«Will Greenwood stay? United have to decide. In Spain, he has a market. Barca’s way of playing would suit him well but it depends on Manchester United. If it’s true, he’ll tell me».
Regardless of his next club, La Liga president Javier Tebas also wants Greenwood to stay in Spain:«I am a lawyer. If someone came out of a legal case innocent there is nothing else to say. He is doing really well as a player and I hope he continues to stay in Spanish football».
Nevertheless, Mason needs a significant promotion. He can still show a lot at Getafe, but his real "start from the scratch" could only be marked by a return to a top club!
What changes will occur at Barça after Greenwood's move?
According to rumours, Man Utd want to cash in €50 million on Greenwood, which is an unaffordable amount for Barcelona, given the Catalans struggling with financial fair play over the past few years. That said, the Blaugrana can negotiate for a reasonable €20-30 million, which they can actually earn from selling Raphinha to Tottenham or Chelsea. In the Premier League, some clubs will pay 70 million for the Brazilian's services, that's for sure!
Greenwood's move will also mean that Barcelona will not make João Feliz loan from Atletico Madrid permanent. Los Colchoneros are demanding €80 million, and in response, the Spanish giants say: "In terms of money, we have no money!".
Besides, in Catalonia, it is believed that the club can offer Mason a substantial bonus in the form of a shirt with Lionel Messi's number 10!
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, isn't that too many steps towards a 22-year-old with a rather tarnished reputation?" Barça supporters might ask. Then let the following arguments at least reassure them, and maybe even thrill them a bit!
Why is Greenwood the perfect newcomer for Barcelona?

If he agrees to a small wage, and if we get him for like 10 to 15 mil, sure why not

@@danyhocine i dont see any good winger who can also comfortably play as a striker in the market who would cost less than 60 mil. And that players also gonna demand a high wage.

@@danyhocine nah i dont want raphinha to leave. He's good, can play on both wings and in the interior role too. Sure he can't perform flashy drible like other Brazilians but he's quite effective, presses good, and gets involved in defence too. He has same goal contributions as nico willians and Rodrigo.

Honestly I think going for Rafael Leao would be a better option if it is possible. And we already have too many forwards right now.
