After sliding backwards down an icy hill, this Toyota Tundra got wedged between and onto some rocks. Unfortunately my @warnindustries winch couldn't get the job done and quit pulling, but luckily I had my @MattsOffRoadRecovery to save the day. I'll get the Warn winch pulled off soon and replaced with a @harborfreight Badlands.

As an interested viewer- experiencing similar situations, was your Pop’s attempting to get into his cabin? Our family cabin was located at the 8400 ft sea level in the High Sierra’s. I could write an lengthy essay titled “How muscle and Blood” got us out. Equipment historically did not exist as it is today. 😬

Snatch block science is something every off roader should know. A winch can get you out of a lot, but a 1, 2, 3, 4 snatchblock setup can give you pulling power you can't imagine. Great work!

I was once the only female in a group of off-roaders. One rig broke down (tranny issue). Another was sliding off of the road into the ditch; tried to tell them to chain the front end to a tree on the other side of the road, so it would pivot toward the road instead of falling further into the ditch, and putting the front tires where they had some bite. (Mud, not snow, but same principle applies.)
    They didn't do that.
We all ended up in the last rig, which blew a head gasket.
We had to walk many miles that night.
Guess how they got it out, the next day, when they went back for the one in the ditch.🤣🤣🤣
They did NOT want to admit it, but they did eventually do exactly what I said to do in first place.

Proving once again that a light weight vehicle with the right equipment and a bunch of knowhow can recover a much larger and heavier vehicle!
An interesting side note, I recently read that Mr Willys, the man the vehicle is named for, actually pronounced his name as "Willis", and that Willys as his name or the name of the manufacturer is not the plural or possesive form of "Willy". No, I'm not on a mission to correct the world, just a fun fact. In my heart and mind it will always be the "Willys", as Casey pronounced it!

She gets out crying and the car took off. I was like OoooooOOOoOOooooooh her dude left her?!?!....what a loser. I picked her up. She goes on the tell me that was an Uber driver that kept missing her turns and freeway exits as he drove into the mountains so she panicked and started telling him off. He finally couldn't take it and he ejected her.
