James Cook was married here, William the conqueror stayed overnight in the church near here, John Terry is from here, as was Ray Parlour, as was Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Moore. East London footballers have contributed a lot to any success this country as had. So the Town is great and has had some great people. Barking is fine, the people are fucked. Big difference. Barking is a nice town you can love just try and ignore the people in it. It is always the people that fuck it.
I'm glad the BNP got their asses handed to them, but I would have had a lot more respect for Margret Hodge if she had run her campaign on something other than JUST an anti-BNP ticket and at least tried to tackle issues the BNP were thriving on. Even her victory speech was cringe-worthy because it was just more Anti-BNP and just came off as childish.

Trouble is most of the inhabitants what live there now aren't even from barking. Well they are not even English.
