Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families in CAR 7/19/2024

    Ensuring that no Filipino will be left behind in progress and development as the Administration realizes the vision of a 'Bagong Pilipinas' (New Philippines), President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. travels to the northern part of the country to continue the distribution of assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and their families, this time in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on July 19, 2024.
    During the program set in Luna, Apayao, the President turns over farm machineries, equipment and other government interventions from various agencies.
    Thereafter, he leads the ceremonial distribution of Presidential assistance amounting to PhP10,000 each to 60 select beneficiaries from the Provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain Province.
    He likewise hands over monetary support of PhP50 million each to the Provincial Governments of Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain Province; PhP34.5 million to the Provincial Government of Abra; and PhP29.7 million to the Provincial Government of Benguet. Apart from these, five (5) kilos of rice are provided by the Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to each event attendee.
    A presentation of memento from Apayao Governor Elias Bulut Jr. also takes place during the event. The Chief Executive receives an 'aliwa', a native bolo of the Isnags that symbolizes the life and death of Yapayao, and an 'ambusaw' which is an Isnag heirloom necklace.
