Yes!!! Do it so we don’t have to. Do it for us. You’ll be doing a purely selfless act to save the rest of us Defender lovers money. Thank you for your sacrifice!!❤
Great video, love your spec. Definitely is a sacrifice to loose the other 2 from the fleet but I think it’s worth it, justifies the development of new parts and accesories keeping up with the market. Also such a cool vehicle all around 😍
JLR…… have me completely confused!!! Jaguar is going all electric with their cars…… but the electric car market is tanking!!! Land Rover has bought out the fastest Defender EVER??? And it’s a V8!!! Also I understand that JLR are having trouble sourcing aluminium to build their cars….. Yes buy the OCTA…..’cause it may be the last ever V8 Defender!!!! Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿👍🍸🍸
Order it. I’m in, but can’t decide between OCTA with 20” Duratracs, matte finish, Charente gray, or First Edition same spec (Carpathian grey) but about 5,000 more for chopped carbon. Like the Carpathian grey much more, but $5,000 more!
Hydraulic suspension that sounds like a nightmare leaks and complications complexity off of warranty like the hydraulic lines on the old r149 Mercedes SL series
The suspension are still air springs like any other defender but they deleted the anti roll bars and have a hydraulic system to manage roll, pitch and diving. Yes it is more complicated.
@@Lucky8 it’s so strange. You guys have such a big hatred for the Grenadier for absolutely no reason. it’s proving to be an excellent vehicle completely over engineered for the purpose and you would think that at least as off-road enthusiasts, you would give it some respect but your childish bias is very clear. I used to respect you guys and supported you, but no longer. Bunch of whiney babies.
I’d say sit tight on this one. 175k+Tax and fees seems a bit of a stretch. In addition, it is so far out of reach for most people that from a business perspective it doesn’t make a lot of sense unless the plan is to duplicate parts to sell them. Outside of that, I am not sure losing two vehicles everyone follows you for and is the bread and butter of your content makes sense. I’d pivot with that money and broaden the audience with a new vehicle in addition to the Defender. I think in a few years some of the design elements will find their way into a next generation Defender. Now, if it’s for you personally , that’s a completely different thing. Buy what you want if it’s not breaking the bank.
@@Lucky8Dual ARB with tank under the rear floor in the 90 (it fits). I designed, 3D printed, and its clean install. Also wouldn’t mind seeing a removable floor to drop in the 90. I built one that Z folds, drops in over the seats with a 2nd piece that has 2 small cubby’s in the rear. No need to remove seats either, just drop it in, strap in down in 10 min. Built a prototype I’m playing with now. I have Sketch-Up drawings for it but there is some fine tuning to do there. This weekend I’m installing an 800watt alternator charger with reversed charging to keep battery topped up as part of a battery system. You know how Defender batteries drain… I’ll send you the ARB plate and photos to play with if you like. Just let me know.
Just hearing you talk about it I think you should 100% get one if you can. Something maybe to be aware of since the engine is a BMW unit. They had alot of trouble with burnt valve seals in those hot V TT V8's for awhile. I'm not sure if that has been rectified or not with the later generation motors. I was once told by the head mechanic at my local BMW dealership to never buy a TT V8 bmw and definitely not an X5. It wouldn't stop me if I had the means, just some food for thought.
Don’t second guess yourself Order the the Edition One full spectrum and later have your own off-road wheels & tires specifically for the trails. And if I were you I will install the PLUM roofrack & also the PLUM bush grill with the Brit made laser led lights. In it a mode it can race the Baja 1K… this Defender is “the paragon”
Did you go with the 22 inch rims with road tires to obtain the highest Vmax? In speaking with the rep, if you order it with the 20 inch/off-road tires, the Vmax is program limited from factory and then you may be stuck with this.
Yes. You have a path to do this. Is there really any question? I’d suggest the 155mph version and then you can swap out to wheels/tires of your choosing.
Did you get your order in? I ordered one in the special event. They told me the order will get locked by the end of July. Still, nothing happened last email. I got that September we’re gonna get the update. Do you have any update about your order?
We assume that if you're watching this channel, you're a Land Rover enthusiast. Another thing to keep in mind is you may not believe it but there's no script.
@@Lucky8 well I’m the lowly owner of a disco 2 and l322 Range Rover. The budget is not anywhere in my vicinity to be able to do this. I think if you can do this you must do this for all of us enthusiasts and gear heads that want to see it! And the fact they aren’t making much…just do it.
I had a deposit down for one and was invited to see it at Goodwood. It’s an interesting thing, but…. In the UK it will cost £185,000 and you can only have it in a few select colours. The First Edition only comes with lots of gold and carbon. Carbon on a Defender just feels very wrong. So I then thought I’d order a std edition car, thats only available in gold or grey, (but no carbon thankfully). In the end I decided that for this much money I want to be able to choose the options I want, so I’m out and have cancelled my order.
I hear what you're saying. I really want the tan interior with the carpet the gray color that is not an option on the other hand. I love carbon fiber so I'm super excited about that.
@@Lucky8 Mate I love carbon fibre too, but on sports cars not on a heavy SUV… My point is that at this price you should be able to decide for yourself.
Yes! If you don’t you will regret it. Can wait to see it on your channel.
You proudly represent our small Defender community. Therefore keep representing us, we support you! 😊
Just saw this thank you for the unbelievably kind comment
Surely I've spent enough on my Disco 1 on your products that you can get an Octa outright XD. At any rate go for it!
Thank you !

I have one on order, I currently have the Defender 110 V8 Carpathian Edition and I love the V8, I hope the new V8 will be as nice.
Yes, you should order the new Defender Octa!
Today, not tomorrow, not next week…….you need to get it done. For America!
I don't think it will depreciate much being its a special edition so I'd say go for it
Absolutely, definitely yes!! 🙌, I surely wish I could afford one!!!

Yes you should sell off some of the fleet. Change it up a bit. And probably would bring more attraction to the channel with something new.

when you have this video, you ve already made your choice, just order one. no question
Nope. You should get a Ineos Grenadier instead. Or would you get in trouble with JLR if you did? I bet you have an agreement with them…….
Not at all, I have no interest in making parts for the new Santana

So are you ordering one?
100% YES!
Sure it’s impressive but not for overlanding with all the weight extra on roof rack. More for those who want speed on blacktop
I disagree with that. I really enjoy offloading the V8 90 and it has a ton of stuff on it.

imo the V8 90 will be a collector car eventually… so cool/weird… but so maybe will be the Octa too? lol
If you can swing it, go for it. I’ll wait for it to come on the used market as I beat my defender up on the trails.

The S68 is an all new BMW V8 which recently was released in 2022 and shares little with the previous generation apart from being a 4.4 litre.
Fingers crossed on that motor!
If I had a nickel every time I said, Holy Sugar Shack

LUCKY8 WHAT DID U ORDER? DID U ORDER EDITION 1 OR REGULAR OCTA?

They all do 155mph, just depends on the tyres which limit the top speed.
I was under the impression that they were ECU limited when ordered from the factory with the 33” A/T tires.
@@JohnMcLauchlan I don't believe so but this may be the case I will ask the Dealer when I speak to them next.

Kind of. I'm really interested in what people think if it's something that would be of interest or it's so expensive making it a ridiculous idea.
