- US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden welcomed the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macron and Brigette Macron as part of the first state visit of the Biden administration since taking office.
The Macrons’ trip to the White House marks their second time as the guests of honour.
The first time was during Donald Trump’s administration in 2018.
