  • The famous Benagil Cave is one of the best picture spots in the Algarve, and arguably in Portugal. The cave and its neighbouring beaches are well worth a a visit, and Tom went down to check it out! Enjoy!

    I appreciate your honesty. My first night in the Algarve we had an airbnb in a rough looking part of Faro. Not a good first impression at all but once we got out there and explored further we fell in love with the place. To be honest, the towns further north in Portugal are probably more preserved and charming, in my opinion, but the natural beauty of the Algarve is just stunning. Thanks.

      Thank you, Martin. The Algarve is naturally beautiful, but there are some less manicured areas for sure! Like you say, getting out there and exploring is the best way to uncover its beauty :)

    Thanks for your honesty Nick, there is always the other side of everything. History plays such a role on how a country and it's people are. It's what YOU make it that counts.

      Exactly! Portugal is a wonderful country but there are downsides to it like any nation in the world. It should be about enjoying both sides of Portugal!

    The future is bright and alive with Tom and his generation. We won't listen to the crusty old negative chain smoker's in the local bars.
    We all understand there is good and bad in every area. Another great job keep up the good work.

      Lucky you! Carvoeiro is beautiful. Make sure to check out the Carvoeiro boardwalk and take a trip to Ferragudo! Let us know how you find it :)

      @@AlgarveAddicts We just returned yesterday from the Algarve and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in Carvoeiro, visited Lagos, Sagres/Cape Vincent, the different beaches and had such a lovely time. The sunshine and lovely warm (maybe a bit too hot) weather was great. It was our first beach holiday and can definitely see why they are so popular. Thanks for making your Carvoeiro video - it helped a lot!

    Every summer I stayed 2 months in Lagos/Quarteira and Albufeira before was invaded by the Brits and never heard about Benagil, what I lost. Algarve used to be a paradise for spearfishing and I was more on the Lagos side because all the rocks but that’s amazing I never saw those caves🤨

      @AlgarveAddicts  Před 3 lety

      if you are ever back that way, I would recommend checking out those caves in Benagil. If you are there out of peak season, this could be the best (and most peaceful) way of seeing them :)

    I was watching another channel that I follow yesterday, and they did a video of a week in the Algarve. One day they were in Benagil Cave as well. When I saw the drone overhead in this video I had to wonder if it was the same people, but I didn't see them. Still, kind of funny how things overlap sometimes.

    The Portuguese coastline is spectacular as is the country but this sounds hideous, ruined & exploited by tourist boats etc also cant be doing the environment any favors either.
    Thanks for the heads up though!

    This is the exact tourism I want to be away from when we move there 🙈🙈🙈 I hope there is a spot in the Algarve that is peaceful. I hate the graffiti. Setúbal used to be a beautiful city in the 70s and 80s,I can't believe how run down it's become. Cascais also is covered in graffiti. So sad. What do you think of Comporta?

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  Před 3 lety +1

      To be honest, I don't know much about Comporta having never visited there. I've stayed in the "Design Hotel" in Troia which was spectacular (even in winter with the storms rolling across the bay). However Comporta... Mmm seems like an over hyped trendy place but I can't pass judgement as I've never stayed there.

      @@AlgarveAddicts it's so hard just looking at photos and Google earth. Tróia used to be lovely but too many jellyfish. Does the Algarve also have that much jellyfish?

      Sometimes, and more so in the east.
